Next Day

I hadn't gotten much sleep with that nightmare. Driving to school was all in a daze. When I got there someone walked up to my door and opened it. Normally I was never taken by surprise so the fact that I was meant it could only be one person. Derek. I climbed out and took the door out of his hand and shut it. Then walked away from my car locking it as I went. "Wait up!" he yelled and ran to catch up to me. "I didn't catch your name yesterday," "It's Emily. You don't need to bother with me really. I'm a loner and that is how I like it," I smiled. Softly under my breath I added, "That is how everyone including me is safe."  "I doubt that. No one likes to be alone. Besides I think it would be in the best interest for you to let me in." he winked then walked back to his car. Confused I kept going knowing he would be late and was not willing to risk that for myself. As I got closer to the school he was still at his car. Like he didn't care if he went to school or that he was going to be late to homeroom. I couldn't be bothered with him I needed to get in. First classes was like normal but Derek wasn't their. Mary was telling everyone who would listen that her and Derek hooked up but in her mind she was thinking about why he had rejected her. It took everything for me to not laugh at the pathetic lies of her. The price for laughing was not worth it. The day continued to lunch where the lunch room was packed at one table. I didn't bother to look because only one person could attract a crowd like that which means Derek was back.  I headed to an empty table and got settled with a song on my iPod from Green Day. One of my more laid back tracks than what I normally listen to in order to block out the noise but it felt right. Next thing I know a pair of strong hands with black leather sleeves on the arms comes into my peripheral view. When I looked up he was there. "What are you doing after school today?" he smiled. "Same thing I always go home and do homework," I replied while rolling my eyes. "How about you drop your car off and go somewhere with me. I want to get to know you" he said while grabbing one of the tots off my plates and plopping it in his mouth. "Why?" "Isn't that the mystery of getting to know someone?" "I don't do crowded places." "Noted. So that's a yes?" "Would you go away if I said no?" "Definitely not," he grinned while wiggling his eye brows. "See ya after school in the parking lot to follow you." After taking another tot and left the lunch room leaving me to receive the headache of all the loud thoughts coming from his fan club. I gathered my stuff and left to go sit in the empty classroom before the next class hoping to get rid of the headache. The rest of the day flew by and I met him in the parking lot. Luckily his car was not surround and I got in mine and took off with him close on my heel. When we got to my house I debated dropping my bag off or leaving it in the car. I opted for switching my wallet to the handbag I kept in the car and locked it up then went to his passenger side and jumped in. Derek looked amazing. With his deep eyes and full lips plus that aroma coming from him smelled soo good. I was starting to get nervous and not paying much attention to where he was driving. "Aren't you new here? So where are we going that you have already found?" I said looking anywhere but at him. "I use to live here a long time ago. I have a special spot I want to show you and talk," he said while side glancing at me. Be still my heart. "How do you know it is still there?" "Let's just say its a hunch. I have a feeling you are going to really find it peaceful. Maybe even find something to clear those headaches." "What did you just say?" I questioned. No one knew I had headaches everyday. Not even my parents. "I can tell by the way you were wearing your sunglasses the first day we met and the way you keep your head down," he rushed with his words. Almost as if it was a cover up. Who is Derek Greene and why does he know things that no one else knows? The car was coming to a halt while I was lost in thought and worried I was in the car with a stalker.  "We are here." "Where is here?" All I could see was trees. "We are going to my place of paradise..."
