S-rank hero II

While Max is oblivious to what is happening right now, Marie, who is watching it from the office, knows the truth.

"Max, that's Miss Alexandra's strength. The reason why she is called Alexandra the great is because of her power that is out of this world and reached S-rank evaluation. It is rumored that a simple punch of hers could decimate a mountain."

"How is that possible? I don't even sense any disturbance in the air."

"Max, you should have known that a hero's power is divided into elemental manipulation and body manipulation. Miss Alexandra’s power belongs to the latter, and it is one of the best.”

Max is still enchanted by the sight when Alexandra turned her body and approached him.

“Boy, can you lead me to the place where you find this reptile?”

Max nods furiously as he is too excited to talk right now. As someone who idolized heroes back when he is small, he felt as if he had found a new idol.

“Haha, you’re adorable. What’s your name?”

Max tried to regain his mind and answered the question as he knows that he shouldn’t make a fool of himself in front of his new star.

“My hero’s name is Air hero.”

“Okay, can I call you Air?”

With another ten of nods in a second from Max, Alexandra asked him questions as he tried to walk and lead the way.

“What is happening? Where did that reptile come from?”

“I am taking a D-rank mission to investigate the sewer as people heard noises and reports of people missing has occurred in the area. At first, I found nothing even after sweeping through the sewer a couple of times. Finally, my overseer told me that there had been a renovation on the sewer two years ago, and strangely enough, there’s no blueprint for the new sewer after renovation.”

“Then, how did you find it?”

“I asked my teammate to compare the new and old district layout and predict where the new sewer will be built. Luckily, we found the tunnel. Here it is.”

Max then guided Alexandra through the tunnel and arrive at the place where he met the monster.

“This is where I saw the monster.”

Looking at the pile of bones, Alexandra could immediately conclude that these are the remains of those consumed by the monster.

“I haven’t been able to look around since I immediately flee.”

“It’s alright. Your decision to swiftly escape the area is the correct one.”

Alexandra scanned the area, and she seemed to be talking to someone over the intercom. She must have been contacting her team member to see if they know something.

“I see that you’ve brought a flashlight. Can you light up over there?”

Alexandra is pointing in the direction where the Batrachopus Grandis comes out earlier. It was another dark tunnel, but it wasn’t that long since the sewer ends a few meters forward.

“How come it’s another dead end?”

Max immediately realized that it must be the same trick as what he experienced earlier when finding a dead end earlier. So Max closes his eye and tried to touch the end of the sewer wall, trying to feel any wind from the other side of the wall.

With his high sensitivity, Max managed to find it once again.

“Miss Alexandra, this way.”

Max summoned his wind drill and wanted to make a hole on the wall again before Alexandra tapped on his shoulder.

“Let me.”

Max takes a step back and gives her some room while she gently knocked on the sewer wall, and it immediately crumbles as if a bomb was planted on the wall and exploded.

“Good job, boy.”

The tunnel that they have just found is very bright, contrary to the dark place that they just walked from. Not to mention that not far from it, they can see a dry platform full of equipment that shouldn’t be found in a sewer.

“What is this place?”

Max is dumbfounded when he sees this place. Not to mention that in a corner, there seemed to be another pile of bones and some eggs half-buried on the ground.

“Is this the monster’s nest? Not to mention those eggs.”

While Max is still rooted in his place, Alexandra walked forward to where the equipment is located. Not long after, Alexandra seemed to be talking with her teammate once more.

“Marcheline, what do you think of this? Really? Have you verified it? Great! We finally found a lead.”

Alexandra then moves towards Max and gives him a big hug while kissing him on the cheek. This made Max more flabbergasted than when he found this place.

“Boy, thanks to you, we finally find a lead to one of a missing case. I’ll make sure that you got rewarded for this.”

“Miss Alexandra, I didn’t do anything much. All of it is taken care of by you. I’ll be happy enough to have my mission appraised as successful by the association.”

“Don’t worry about that. That’s only a small matter. Don’t you know? This lab might belong to Doctor Castiel, an infamous doctor who has experimented with humans and exotic animals. He has been missing for so long, and finally, we might found a lead here.”

“Is that so? Well, I’m glad that it could help the heroes.”

“Look at you, aren’t you chivalrous. Seeing someone doing a good deed without asking anything in return is very rare. How about this, this is my number, and you can contact me if you meet some difficulties. Alright then, I will need to look for clues in this place, not to mention that I need to secure those eggs. Feel free to stay, but you can also leave.”

Alexandra gives Max a business card with her name and number on it. Of course, Max doesn’t know, but it is a special privilege that might not even be possible for an A-rank hero. Max, however, knows one thing and that it is his luck to be able to meet with Alexandra. After all, when will he get the chance to be this close with an S-rank hero?

“Miss Alexandra, is there anything that I can help with? I mean, it’s such a rare opportunity to meet with an S-rank hero, and it’s a pity to just leave like that.”
