Magnar
After Candice and Mira left I found myself looking over at Dayanira Halliwell's sleeping form. Hybrid children were not unheard of; however a child born of a Nephilim and a Warlock were extremely rare indeed. The child usually didn't make it to full term and if it did, it was usually stillborn. I was aware of her Warlock half, but I had no proof that she was also part Nephilim. Without truly knowing, I could only guess as to why the Collector's had her. Being rare didn't always put a Fae on the Collector's radar. So there had to be more to her, maybe it was the mark on her neck, or her magick that made the Collector's go after her?
Dayanira, couldn't have been a captive of theirs for long, she had just submitted her form to be a surrogate over a week ago. I was still musing over all of this when Beau's voice broke through my thoughts.
"Magnar, hey earth to Magnar. Are you even listening to me?" Beau's voice questioned me.
"I'm sorry, what were you saying Beau?" I questioned my friend and familiar.
"I said if we're going to get that leather collar off of her, you're going to have to give him a call. I know he put you in a bad place, but you know as well as I do that only a Nephilim can remove a collar of that magnitude."
I sighed before pinching the bridge of my nose. "We had creative differences, in our relationship. Differences I didn't agree with." I said as I lifted my head to look at Beau.
Lance GreyOwl was the last person I wanted to speak to right now. But I didn't have a lot of Nephilim friends I could just call up on a whim.
Sighing I admitted defeat, "Fine, I'll give him a call but I doubt he'll help."
After having a far more lengthy conversation then I planned, I hung up the phone. Beau was waiting impatiently to find out what Lance had said. He's face fell the moment his eyes met mine.
"He refused to help, seriously. Did you even apologize to him? I was hoping you two would let it be water under the bridge and all that." Beau said in a huffed tone.
I took a step toward Dayanira before speaking. "He didn't agree to any thing because Lance wasn't the one to answer. His blood brother Jason Nightheart answered. He said Lance is under house arrest for breaking a rule of the Inner Sanctum. We can break him out or I can ask Ariana Nightheart to help." I informed my familiar.
"Breaking him out would be more fun. Getting Ari, to help is easier for everyone." Beau said as he looked at Dayanira.
After, getting off the phone with Ariana and her agreeing to help us. About an hour later, there was a knock on my door. Nothing could have prepared me for who was on the other side of the door. I looked passed him at first expecting to see Ariana. Instead I found Jason Nightheart at my door. At six foot, he was taller then my five foot eleven inches. Wavy blonde hair and piercing green eyes, greeted me with a frown.
"Jason Nightheart, to what do I owe the pleasure of having you grace be my doorway?"
"Ari asked me to come in her stead, since she got called away on other business." Jason said the frown never leaving his lips.
"Please, come in." I said as I gestured for him to enter.
He nodded his head at Beau when he entered. Most Nephilim, looked down on werewolves and warlocks but not Lance and his adopted brother and sister. Jason followed me to where we had Dayanira was resting.
"Her name is Dayanira Halliwell, we rescued her from Collector's she was badly injured. We've done all we can for her right now. She would be able to heal faster if that blasted collar wasn't on her." I said informing Jason. I hadn't expected him to talk let alone say anything.
"Those bastards, give all other fae a bad name." He said as golden light came out of his hand and into the collar. After a few seconds there was a click as the collar fell off.
Jason's green eyes swept over her arms and the right side of her neck. "These scars here are from glyhs, and they are old. I think she's been a prisoner of the Collector's longer then you think." His green eyes meeting my honey ones.
Glyhs were Angel marks that Nephilim used to amplify their gifts. They wrote them in their blood when their power came alive it would leave an imprint on the surface they wrote it on. It was a well known fact that Warlocks and other fae beings could be burned by angel glyhs. Due to her golden cat eyes, they knew she was a hybrid and yet someone had willingly used their blood to write them on her skin.
Jason pointed to a raised pink puffy scar on her forearm.
"See how raised this one is it's much newer then all the rest. It's possible that she's been tortured with these since she was a child."
It took me a minute to wrap my mind around what Jason had just said. I didn't really know Dayanira yet. However, I know that no one deserves to be tortured in such a way. Just thinking of her having to go through something so painful as a child, angered me more then I knew anything could.
I wanted to lash out at her parents, but I remembered from her surrogate application that her parents were no longer living.
If she still wanted to be my surrogate. No one would ever hurt her again if I could help it. Before I could think on it any more, Jason brought my attention back to reality.
"Do you have any idea, what this could be?" He asked, indicating a tattoo like mark on her upper back just below her neck.
"No, but I plan on looking into it." I said to him, in all the centuries I'd lived I had never seen anything like it.
"If you want I'll tell Lance you called. I'm sure he'll want to help." Jason said as he made his way to the door.
I found myself nodding my head in response. Not sure if I could find the words to speak. Seeing him again after we chose to end our relationship, wasn't going to be easy. He was the first person I had allowed myself to have feelings for, for over a century. I even had thought of asking him to marry me, the day before he asked to end our relationship. So I was surprised when Jason offered to tell Lance to call me. I didn't think he would mention me let alone offer to have him call me.
Jason suddenly gasped in surprise beside me. I turned to Jason, "What is it, what's wrong?"
I then took in the large set of violet wings that were now stretched out beside Dayanira.
"I think, we know what kind of hybrid she is." I said wanting to see what Jason would say.
"It's impossible, a Warlock and a Nephilim can't mate. If they do there has never been a child recorded before." Jason said to me in disbelief as he stared at Dayanira's unconscious form.
"It's possible but the child usually never takes its first breath. I bet her parents did their best to keep her hidden for the same reason I rescued her from, Collectors. She will be the first Nephilock child I have ever met." I saw Jason bristle slightly beside me.
Before he spoke suddenly,
"I have to go, like I said I'll tell Lance to give you a call. I can show myself out."
Then without another word he left.
"What did I say?" I called out to Jason, but he didn't answer me.
"What was that about, he just about ran me over?" Beau asked as he came into the room.
Beau then took notice of the violet colored wings that now lay out behind Dayanara.
"Wow, I've never seen anything like her."
I looked toward the door that Jason had just left through.
"I'm not sure, all I did was say that her parents must have gone through great lengths to keep her hidden. Jason took off after that." I said that.
"You think he knows something?" Beau asked me with a look of concern.
"I'm not sure or maybe he just remembered something. Something tells me that this is only the beginning." I said as I looked at Beau.

Lance
I didn't expect the one to release me from my house arrest cuff. To be my blood brother, Jason Nightheart he had saved my life and had made the sacrifice of bonding himself to me and I to him the day he used his Angel gift to heal me.
"Jason, I didn't think you'd be the one releasing me. Especially, since you were against it from the start." I said as he used his blue Angel gem to unlock my cuff.
"There is something important I need to show you. Magnar and Beau need our help. I'm not sure they know how much danger all of them are in now." Jason whispered as my cuff fell away.
"Do you still have that secured computer of yours?" Jason inquired as he looked at me with his blue eyes.
“Yes, I do. No one knows that I have it.” I said to Jason.
"Good, if we are lucky my clearance is still good." Jason said as he quietly asked me to follow him. The Nightheart family had taken me in after my father and older brother had been killed by demons. My mother had died shortly after giving birth to me.
"What kind of trouble are Magnar and Beau in." I asked as I continued to follow after him.
"I can't say anything here, someone might be listening in." Jason said as he glanced around us. No one seemed to be paying us any attention. But it didn't mean they weren't listening in on what we were saying.
After stopping to grab my laptop, I followed Jason until we were far away from the sanctum. He took a portal gem out of his pocket and tossed it on the ground.
"Ariana is already waiting for us at our secret spot." Jason informed me as the portal opened.
Portal gems were created by Warlock magic. They were either a one time use gem or had a sister gem, like the ones we had that followed each others energy, they could also recharge one another as long as one of them still had magic within them. Warlock's and a few gifted Witches could recharge the gems for us from time to time, for a price of course.
I couldn’t help but wonder what kind of trouble my old flame had gotten himself into. Magnar was flamboyant when he wanted to. Through he never did anything during his day job as a doctor. He was by the book there. But when he was home all bets were off, he didn’t even look same when he was off the human clock, as it were. Though if I was being honest I missed seeing his flamboyant side.
Ariana is waiting for us when we step through the portal. The dark purple portal gem we used clacks, together with the sister stone in Ari’s hand, the portal closes behind us.
“All right Jason, we are here so tell me what’s going on with Magnar and Beau?”
“This is going to be hard to believe, but Magnar and Beau rescued a young woman from Collectors.” Jason said, but something in his eyes told me there was more to it.
“So what type of Fae was it? Fairie, shifter, vampire, witch, or were they torturing a young warlock.” I said trying to see what was so important. Though I was curious on how they managed to find their hide out. I knew Magnar had a gift for finding others of his kind. But Jason just shook his head.
“No this women is much more rare and important then just a warlock. She’s a Nephilock, there was a magic binding collar on her neck. I removed it so she could heal on her own, but it’s her.” Jason said as he handed me two pictures. One of a little girl maybe tens years old, the other was of a woman of what looked like twenty five, but I knew she was most likely much older. She had short brown hair with purple highlights in it.
My eyes widened as I took in the picture.
She had been in the custody of the sanctum when she had vanished.
“Dayanira Halliwell.” Her name was off my lips before I realized. My great, great grandfather had told me stories of his secret love of her, he was supposed to protect her and her had fail. A Nephilim falling for a Warlock was forbidden. “My great, great grandfather was in love with her. But to keep her safe, he didn’t dare show it. Then one morning he went to take her breakfast and she was gone.” I just couldn’t believe it. Without another word I took out my own portal gem it glowed gold as I activated.
“Lance, wait a minute think about this. Even if she the same woman your great, great grandfather was in love with she won’t know from adam. Lance do you hear me!” Jason yelled after me, but I had already stepped through the portal, I had to see her with my own eyes.
