Winter's Love

it was just like any other day. I was bored out of my brain. ever since that one bad mission, I was locked away. Dad didn't want me out in the field. I honestly think it had more to do with the fact that he f****d up. he wasn't in the correct position and it almost got me and Bucky killed. "Mikayla. you here??" that voice always gave me shivers. it was Bucky. "yeah. in the lounge room." I'd had a crush on Bucky, since my dad and Steve rescued him from Hydra. "Hey. How are you feeling??" I smiled sadly, but tried to hide it. "Fine I guess. You??" I should've known better. Bucky saw straight through me. "no you're not. what's wrong??" I tried to hold it together. I couldn't allow him to see, how being away from him was affecting me. "nothing really. I'm fine." Bucky sat next to me on the couch. "Mik. I know you. what's wrong?? you know you can tell me anything." he was right. he was the one person, I could always count on. "I hate not being able to go on missions. I hate not being able to help. I hate being away from you Buck." he smiled softly. "I miss you too Mik. tell ya what. how about you and I have a movie night?? just the two of us??" I looked up at him. "sounds like a plan. your room or mine??" I swear he blushed slightly. "either one. I'll sneak snacks and drinks. actually I might get snacks and drinks now while it's only us here. your room say 8pm??" I giggled. "I'll leave the door unlocked." he kissed me on the cheek, before raiding the cupboards and fridges. it was hard not to burst out laughing. at dinner, I wasn't hungry. I kept sneaking glances at Buck, who was doing the same. I wasn't sure how he felt about me. he'd always been good to me. "may I be excused please??" dad nodded and I headed to my room. 'c U in 20 Buck' I'd sent Bucky a text, before jumping in the shower. he'd put the snacks in my wardrobe and drinks in my bar fridge. 'c U soon doll.' I loved it when he called me that. smiling to myself, I showered quickly and got into my comfy clothes, just as I heard a knock on the door. "Hey" I practically yanked him into my room. "Hey yourself. no-one saw you??" he smiled. "no. I locked my room, so no-one can go in." he always thought of everything. About three movies in, I was starting to get sleepy. Bucky must've noticed, cause he put his arm up, so I could lay on his chest. smiling, I snuggled into him. "Comfy doll??" I nodded my head, not trusting my voice. I knew my heart was racing and that Bucky could feel it. "Rest now doll. I got you. I'll stay all night if you want me to." I smiled. "I'd like that." "I'll keep you safe as you sleep. I'll be right here when you wake up. you're safe with me doll. I won't let anyone or anything hurt you. I promise." I wanted to tell him how I felt, but I didn't want to ruin the moment. "I love you Mikayla. I have for a while now. you're the reason I sleep soundly at night. you're in my every thought. I crave to buy your side and miss you when you're not. holding you now is a dream for me. you are my world doll. I've never felt this way about anyone till I met you." he must've thought I was asleep. I smiled and closed my eyes. he loves me. Bucky loves me. the next morning, true to his word Bucky was still here. I was still in his arms. "morning doll." god Bucky's sleepy voice was hot. "morning Buck." rolling over, I faced him. "did you mean what you said last night??" he froze. "you heard that??" I smiled. "yes. did you mean it??" I placed my hand in his bare chest over his heart. "yes. every word." I leant down and kissed the spot over his heart. "there's something I've wanted to tell you for a while." his eyes held mine. "what's that doll??" I took a deep breath. "I love you too. ever since the first day you walked through those doors. I fought it for a while. but the more time we spent together, the more I realised, you're the one I want to spend my life with. the one I want to give my heart and soul to. the one I want to wake up next to every morning and go to sleep next to every night. I love you Bucky Barnes." he just looked at me. I was so nervous. have I just ruined everything? even though he was the first to admit his feelings? "do you have any idea how long I've waited to hear those words from you doll? you know how to keep a guy waiting." he laughed and hugged me. my heart was still racing. "so that does that make you my boyfriend?" still laughing, he took my face in his hands, and kissed me. "what does that tell you doll?" giggling, I kissed him back. "mm I'm not sure Barnes. you're gonna have to tell me." smiling, he looked me in the eyes. "Mikayla Stark. Will you be my girlfriend? " smiling, I looked into his eyes and said, "Bucky Barnes, I'd be honored to be your girlfriend." that earnt me another kiss.
