Chapter 12: More than friends

With their takeaway finally ordered Matt smiled at her and then held out his hand as he said " ready to work up an appetite ? " in an excited tone.

Lilly paused, she still hadn't worked out her feelings for Matt, they were definitely strong feelings but were they platonic or romantic.. she couldn't yet tell.

" Come on I will be gentle with you .. I promise. " Matt said in a warm and sincere tone and Lilly still not sure of how she felt but trusting him smiled and gave him her hand.

" That's my girl, come on," Matt said as he led her down the hallway showing her his art collection as they went and they soon stood outside a grey painted door, whether it was a bedroom door or led somewhere else Lilly didn't know but she at least would soon find out his intentions soon.

" Don't look so scared Lil, I promised I will be gentle. Are you ready ?" Matt asked bracing to open the door and Lilly simply nodded.

" Well, what do you think? " Matt said as he and Lilly stepped inside the room and Lilly looked around.

" Oh .. is this" Lilly started but Matt excitedly interrupted her " my gym ."

" I know it's obviously not as flashy as the gym's rich people have in say Mayfair area of London or as high tech as a commercial gym but it does the job," Matt said as he flexed his impossibly large muscles and winked at Lilly.

" It's amazing Matt, a little intimidating for me who hasn't been to a gym .. ever but I trust you and I am keen to learn and it should be fun too." Lilly smiled equally as relieved as she was disappointed that Matt didn't take her to his bedroom.. boys are so confusing she wished her mum was here to talk to about her feelings.

" Thanks, Lil, and I will keep my promise and be gentle since you're a virgin." Matt winked at her and Lilly gulped at his unintended innuendo and her blush that was starting to become regular around Matt reappeared. 

" Right so your wearing leggings so you should be flexible enough for the warm-up exercise and lesson but your shirt won't be loose enough shall I go get you a t-shirt to change into that will be more comfortable? " 

Lilly gulped again.. was he genuinely just wanting to make her comfortable or was it a ploy to get her semi-naked? He did have a reputation as a flirt. Lilly was so confused.. dam her limited boy experience.

" Erm yeah sure that would be great, thank you ." Lilly eventually said deciding just to see where it went and then she can decide what to do. 

" Great I will be right back," Matt said giving her a sexy smile that again made Lilly's knees wobble, he was so good looking! 

Matt returned a few moments later with a red cotton t-shirt that matched the natural color of Lilly's rosy lips and it was extremely comfortable looking.

" There you go Lil, I will go get us some bottles of water from the kitchen feel free to change in here or the bathrooms across the hall if you're more comfortable there. " Matt smiled as he stepped right in front of Lilly to give her the t-shirt and Lilly got a good waft of his sexy aftershave before he left.

Lilly was reacting to him definitely and finally admitted she had a crush on him.

He was so hot but he was more importantly he was gentlemanly and kind and he made her feel safe and cared for. Despite her undeniable feelings Lilly wasn't sure if she wanted to act on them as he meant a lot to her and she needed him in her life,  if they dated and something went wrong she couldn't bear the thought of them no longer being friends and not having him in her life.  Lilly as she changed thought things threw and decided she would tell him at the end of the night how she felt but that she couldn't risk a relationship for the sake of their friendship to clear up any misunderstanding between them.

Lilly's thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the gym door " are you ready Lil? " Matt asked 

Lilly walked to the door and opened it " Wow Lilly you look gorgeous even in a work out t-shirt that's ridiculously huge on you. Red is really your color you know, it really complements your blonde hair and pale skin and makes your blue eyes look gorgeous,  you should definitely wear red more often." Matt complimented her sincerely before giving her another devastatingly handsome smile. 

" Thank you," Lilly replied shyly 

" God you are so adorable Lil, right shall we? By the end of this lesson, I will have taught you how to block a punch with your forearm and throw one of your own. next lesson we will keep working on your punch and I will teach you how to get out of a hold if someone has you, hostage, at the neck. Then we can work on using the attacker's own weight against them to flip them onto the ground giving you time to escape, then how to disarm an attacker with a knife or gun. After you've got all them important self defence skills mastered you can choose from one of the Martial arts I know Karate, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, or Krav Maga and I will teach you some attack moves and more importantly defence moves, how does that sound? " Matt asked turning to look at Lilly who was starring at him open-mouthed.

" I erm...  wow Matt I just thought you were going to teach me to throw a decent punch, I had no idea you knew all those Martial arts, that's incredible! " Lilly squealed excitedly.

" It's London Lilly, the streets are rough you need to know how to defend yourself especially someone like me. Don't worry I will make sure I will teach you so no one can ever hurt you again either. " Matt said with such force and confidence Lilly began to feel for the first time in her life - strong. Although she did wonder what Matt meant by ' someone like me' and who had hurt Matt?

Matt realizing the information he accidentally let slip moved on from the conversation quickly. " Have you ever hit anyone before? " Lilly shook her head " Okay then so we will start with the stance you should use when throwing a punch to get the most impact .. oh and don't forget to tuck your thumb or you'll break it ." 

Lilly and Matt began their lesson which was interrupted 90mins later by the pizza's arrival.

Lilly was completely exhausted. She was used to hard work from a young age but with the work out Matt gave her she had worked muscles in her arms she didn't even know she had and her arms ached. 

" Oh that will be dinner I will go get it and plates and get a selection of movies from the favorites you mentioned, I will give you time to catch your breath. " Matt laughed looking at Lilly who was glistening with sweat so badly her hair had stuck to her head and the clothes to her body showing off her amazing womanly curves.

" Yeah, that's the least you could do since it's your fault I am in this state! " Lilly replied banterfully making Matt laugh again. 

" True! You did really well today Lil, I am so proud of you. If you continue putting in that much effort you will be able to defend yourself against anything and I promise you will never be a victim again. Anyway, I better go pay the pizza guy if you want the bathroom across the hall if you want to grab a quick shower there are guest towels and you can help yourself to a t-shirt and trackies out my draws,  my room is next to the bathroom. Don't worry the door locks and I honestly don't care, either way, I just thought you would be more comfortable. " Matt said as he smiled and left to get the door that the pizza boy was banging on loudly.

Lilly smiled he really was the most thoughtful man she had ever met.

The thought of eating food whilst so disgustingly sticky was an unappealing prospect and she was just thinking how uncomfortable she was before Matt offered, it was like he read her mind.

Lilly practically skipped with happiness towards the bathroom and showered as quickly as she could keen to get to the living room to get some pizza before Matt no doubt scoffed it all.

She was pleasantly surprised however that Matt had taken the ridiculously large pizza out the box and was keeping it warm in the oven but he politely had waited on Lilly before starting to eat, he really was one of a kind.

Lilly began to rethink her plan to tell him her feelings and make it perfectly clear she just wanted to stay friends, he was so incredibly perfect and it was so strange she suddenly thought that she trusted him so much and felt so comfortable around him after only knowing him for three weeks, she was not the type of girl to just agree to go to a man's house she had known for such a short time let alone showering in his house and wear his clothes.. yet with Matt, it was different she felt like she had known him for years and despite him being unquestionably handsome and having a reputation as a flirt she felt completely safe around him.

Lilly decided on eating dinner then she would talk to him and see if he felt the same connection, then if he did maybe he was worth taking a risk on after all.
