Ellen POV
"Is this your seat?" I replied in a quiet voice. I was nervous and a little afraid to look into his eyes which were intimidating me.
Stupidly, Axl chuckled. He was teasing me. He was belittling me. I looked ahead because Professor Grey was speaking. Just then, Jessica looked back. I knew in an instant that she had something to say.
"I thought everyone in this class knew that place was mine," Axl said. He brought his face closer to mine. I tried to move away. I didn't know what he would do, but it felt wrong. He can't be like this when class is in session.
"I don't know. I am new," I replied without looking at him. Professor Grey's class is more important right now.
I ignored whatever Axl said at the moment. I don't know why. I feel like this isn't good. I shouldn't get close to this guy.
For about an hour, I focused on the lesson. Finally, the class was over. I left because the class was too noisy.
"Where are you going?" Poland followed me. I was a little distracted, but I tried not to show it.
"Somewhere pretty quiet," I replied.
"Oh, I know where that is!" Poland took my hand without saying anything. She led me out of the school building, through the corridor and then moved to the back of the school building.
"Here!" Poland proudly pointed out the place, which made me agree, thinking that this place was quiet.
There is a small park at the back of the school with small benches between the shrubs.
"Why is this place quiet?" I asked while sitting on one of the benches.
"I don't really think about it. Maybe they don't like the atmosphere of this place," Poland replied casually.
I took a good look at Poland. I'm sure her face is charming with her exotic skin. But why did she approach me? Doesn't she hang out with her friends? Is she a loser like me?
"Why are you following me?" I asked just to be sure. It's possible that he really wants to prank me.
"I want to be friends with you," Poland replied. She put down her bag and then took out her phone. She suddenly took a picture of me with it and then posted it on social media.
"What are you doing?" I screeched. "That's rude, Poland!"
Poland looked at me in surprise. "We are friends, right? I just wanted to show our friendship to my followers."
"I don't like that!" I felt this was ridiculous. "I don't do things like that. I don't put my photos anywhere!"
"Delete the photo, Poland!" Axl's voice suddenly appeared.
Poland and I turned our heads. It was really Axl. He was still carrying his helmet. He approached us and deliberately grabbed Poland's phone. Axl deleted my picture, then threw the phone at Poland. Luckily Poland caught it, so it didn't fall.
"I need to talk to her," Axl spoke to Poland.
Poland didn't move. She didn't dare to answer Axl.
"Hey, Kinky. I said I needed to talk to her! Are you deaf?" Axl's harsh words made Poland stand up instantly. She turned to me and smiled.
"I am sorry, Ellen. I have some business in the library." Poland just walked away. She looked frightened by Axl's presence here.
I looked at Axl with no respect at all. I wanted to leave, too, because this wasn't right. Axl intimidated Poland, and I didn't want him to do that to me.
"I should go too," I said.
"Stay here!" said Axl.
My legs seemed to be broken by Axl's words. They wouldn't move an inch. I couldn't turn around either. My body was shaking. It was my first day, but I already felt something annoying.
Axl patted the bench. I raised my eyebrows for an explanation.
"Sit down." Axl's gaze on me was like a hawk ready to peck at its prey.
I had to sit down. I was forced to stay near Axl. Some female students were watching us from a distance. I felt like they were gossiping about me. I really didn't like being the centre of people's attention.
"You're new at school. I should tell you some of the rules on this place," Axl said. He lifted one leg on the bench. I looked at his torn jeans. I'm not too much of a dork because there are a lot of guys in New York who look like Axl, but they don't bother me. That's the point. No one should be interested in bothering me.
"What are the rules?" I asked.
Axl touched my hair. He smiled sarcastically as he glanced at the women peeping in the distance. I was really pissed off. I wanted this to be over immediately.
"The bench you sat on earlier is mine. Don't sit on that spot again," Axl said.
"Okay," I replied without protest. I just wanted to get this over with.
"You have to answer when I ask. Don't ever ignore me."
"Okay."
Axl looked me up and down. He smiled mockingly. He must have been mocking my appearance. It was apparent from the way he smiled.
We hadn't finished talking yet, Axl wanted to continue, but some hordes of women approached us. I saw Jessica, too, in that group.
"Axl, do you want to come to my birthday?" A woman with blonde curls offers an invitation. I wish I could go this time.
"I'm not interested in your party, Nancy. Don't get your hopes up that I'll come," Axl replied. Damn, that was rude. I tried to move when Jessica ventured to make Axl's acquaintance.
"I am Jessica Walker."
Jessica Walker? She was crazy. Why is she using my father's name?
"You're so attractive, Axl. Maybe we can be close," Jessica said.
Axl looked Jessica up and down. From his expression, I could tell that Axl liked Jessica's looks. That's for sure. Jessica is beautiful, sexy and trendy. She's also friendly, apart from me, of course.
Axl's arm suddenly wrapped around me. I was surprised. So were these women. Jessica looked at me with envy. I wanted to rebel, but Axl's hands gripped my shoulders hard.
"But I don't think I want to get close to a woman like you," Axl replied. "I'm only seventeen. And I think you're the same way. Why do you come to school and show your chest to guys? You're too dirty for me."
I laughed in my mind because Axl's words must have made Jessica very embarrassed. She must have really believed that Axl would be interested in her. I see her face red with embarrassment.
"I'm not like that, Axl. My outfit is the trendiest." Jessica is evasive. She didn't like being considered cheap by Axl.
"You're new here too, right? You should be emulating her." Axl pointed at me. He even looked me in the eye in front of everyone. A brief peck landed on my lips. Damn it! What the hell is Axl doing? He got me in trouble.
"I'm more attracted to old-school women than trendy women," Axl replied. He smiled at me. While I felt Axl was using me.
