Ellen POV
"Whose voice is that?" Axl asked me. Damn it. Axl's voice was quite loud. I'm afraid Wilma heard it.
"Where is this girl? Why isn't she in her room!" Wilma grumbled while swearing.
Not seeing me, Wilma went out. I let out a sigh of relief. I was so grateful that Wilma didn't know I was under the bed.
"Hey, are you okay?" Axl's voice disturbed me again.
"I'm hanging up. You're really annoying!" I pressed the off button on the phone screen. I was annoyed that Axl kept trying to bother me.
I got out from under the bed. I went back to doing my homework again. Just then, Jessica suddenly came into my room.
"Do this!" She threw her book at me.
I wanted to fight back. I swear I wanted to fight Jessica, but stupidly. I just kept quiet.
"Alright," I replied.
Jessica folded her arms. She sat on my desk and gave me a disgusted look. "I wish I was Dad's only child," Jessica said.
"What?" I squinted my eyes. This was too much. "I am my Dad's child. Not you, Jessica!"
"You're useless. You're an introvert. You're weird. Dad must regret having a daughter like you. All you can boast about is your brain. You don't even have good communication. What's the point?" Jessica really likes to tease me. She was stupid. She never does her own homework. She can't think. She always uses me to do her schoolwork. And when she got good grades. Jessica would show it off to my Dad first.
" Just come out. I have to do my homework," I said. I'd instead give in.
"Well, you better shut yourself in your room. No one wants to see you." Jessica kicked my chair before she finally walked out.
My phone vibrates again. Axl sent me a message.
"I'll always bother you if you ignore me."
This time I actually turned off my phone. "f**k, Axl!"

The next day, as usual, I went to school. The students were talking about prom. The girls were planning to come together with their boyfriends. Some also planned to flirt with Axl during the event.
"Newbie." Axl's voice sounded so calm when he deliberately put his arm around me.
I was so surprised. I quickly dismissed his hand.
"Don't do that!" I screamed.
"Don't fight me," Axl said. He led me to my locker. I was speechless. There was Jessica in the student locker, too.
"Hi, Axl." Jessica greeted Axl, but her eyes were fixed on Axl's arms around me. "Are you guys close?"
"No!" I quickly replied. I wanted Jessica to get the right idea. She would torment me even more.
"We are," Axl replied, looking at me. He even smiled.
I closed my eyes. I didn't dare look at Jessica's expression. I was going to get my ass kicked when I got home.
"Why do you prefer a girl like her, Axl?" Jessica flicks her hair in front of Axl. "Are you coming to prom next week? With me."
Axl let go of me. He approached Jessica and cornered her until she hit her back on the locker.
"Ooh!" Jessica groaned, but she kept smiling at Axl.
"You're the new student here. How come you have no shame at all?" Axl said.
I wanted to laugh at Axl's words but had to hold back.
"W-what?" Jessica looked embarrassed.
"Don't you know I'm this school's most idolized guy? Girls are asking me to come to prom, so you think you can just ask me to go with you?" Axl spoke right in front of Jessica's face. "You should know yourself when you're not invited."
Axl looked at me. And I pretended not to look at him.
"Hey, Newbie. Are you going to prom?" Axl asked me.
"Huh?" I couldn't believe Axl was actually asking me. "No!" I immediately shook my head.
"Then I won't come. If Newbie comes to prom, then I'll come."
I saw Jessica's hateful gaze on me. Why did I have to get involved? I've never been interested in prom or any parties.
"I think you were wrong to ask her, Axl. She's not coming to prom," Jessica said.
"Why?" Axl glanced sharply at Jessica. "How do you know? Do you know her better than me?"
I didn't want to talk. I didn't want to admit that I was Jessica's step-sister. But Axl's question forced me to talk.
"No. I never knew her. We just met at this school," I said. At least I was doing what Jessica wanted.
I hope this ends soon. Axl was too intimidating. Jessica would be even angrier if I revealed our identities.
"I thought you guys had the same last name," Axl muttered. "Walker."
Jessica patted Axl's shoulder with a chuckle. "So what's the matter? The name Walker is quite popular."
I thought I should get away from them. I have my own business instead of joining this silly conversation.
"I have to go first," I said. I didn't even open my locker.
"Hey, what about prom?" Axl asked.
"I can't. My Dad won't let me," I replied.
"How about I talk to your dad?" Suddenly Axl said something very astonishing.
"What!" Jesicca and I squealed together.
Axl was surprised by our reaction. He was more surprised by Jessica's reaction.
"Why are you so surprised?" Axl asked Jessica.
I looked at Jessica too. I also wondered why she had to react. I've been trying to cover up our relationship.
"Oh, nothing. I was just wondering. Why would you ask his father for permission? That's troublesome, isn't it?"
"None of your business," Axl said.
"You can't come to my house!" I warned Axl.
"Why?" Axl said as he touched my chin. "I'll do whatever I want, Newbie. The more you tell me not to. The more I want to do it."
I thought I should get going. I brushed off Axl's hand and hurried away.
"Newbie!" called Axl.
I chose to run. This could have been better. Axl seemed to think I was his target. I can't allow this. I have to find a way for him to stop bothering me.
When I was going to class, I accidentally bumped into someone.
"Ahh!" I fell down. Luckily I wasn't hurt.
"Are you okay?" I heard a man's voice. When I looked up, I saw an adult man with a blonde haircut extending his hand to me.
