Ellen POV
"What?" I was quite dumbfounded by Axl's words which I thought were very silly. "Excuse me. Can you give me a reason why I should like you?"
"Because that's the way it should be," Axl replied. "There hasn't been a woman who hasn't liked me."
"I am," I replied. "I didn't like you." I tried to get rid of Axl's hand, and he wanted to kiss me again.
"Don't!" I pushed him away. This was the first time in my life I was fighting someone. And it was Axl.
Axl stepped aside, but I saw the look of anger in him. Why? Why do I have to like him? I'm not interested in Axl. He's handsome, but I don't want to complicate my life with more drama. The drama inside my house alone is overwhelming.
"Please, let me go," I said. "You have a lot of fans. You can choose one of them."
Axl didn't speak. This is more terrifying than I expected. Jessica is waiting for me right now. She'll get angry and snitch on her mom if I'm late.
I moved toward the door. Axl remained silent. I waited for Axl to open the door, but he didn't budge.
"Axl!" I called. "Please, open the door."
Axl walked into a small room in the building. I chased after him. Axl jumped through the wall. What the hell is this? Is he leaving me cooped up in this place? Oh, f*****g Axl!

I ran to class after struggling to climb through the window in the gym. Axl wouldn't open the door, so I had no other way but to follow his lead.
I didn't see anyone in the class. Jessica had already gone home. Ah, she must be angry. I have to go home soon too. I quickly walked out of the classroom. The sky was already dark. The sun was about to set. I ran out of the school. At times like this, I wished my father would let me drive. But that's impossible. My father wouldn't allow it.
I waited for the bus at the bus stop. I was worried about Wilma's reaction. As soon as the bus came, I got on. I took a deep breath. I felt like moving to Denver was a bad choice. Now my life was miserable not only at home but also at school.
For almost twenty minutes, the bus traveled, finally reaching the bus stop near my house. I didn't have any more time. I had to run. After reaching home, I hurriedly put my bag in my room. I went to the kitchen to cook and clean the dirty furniture.
Everything was fine until I heard that familiar voice.
"Why aren't you in class?" Jessica asked who was already standing next to me. I didn't realize when she came.
"Oh, I had some business," I replied. "I went to class, but you went home."
"What? I waited for you for an hour! You want to test my patience?" Jessica squealed.
I sighed. I put the dirty dishes in the sink. I then looked at Jessica. "I am sorry. I really have some sudden business."
"Don't roll your eyes at me!" Jessica screeched. "I heard a strange rumor about you. You went out with Axl, right?"
"I-I don't get it." I didn't want Jessica to know. I knew from the beginning that Jessica was interested in Axl. If she knew I was with Axl a lot, she would be very upset.
Suddenly Jessica grabbed my hair. "Don't lie! There are a lot of eyes watching. You rode Axl's bike. How dare a girl like you ride with Axl!"
"I never asked Axl to take me away. He just suddenly asked me to get on his bike! I swear!" I screeched. My head hurt like hell from Jessica's actions.
"Axl asked you?" Jessica let go of her hand. She looked disgustedly at me. "How could he? What did he see in you?"
I don't know, either. If I could choose, I wouldn't want Axl around me. This is so torturous. I couldn't bear to be free of all this.
"My sweety!" I heard the voice that saved me from Jessica's torture. My Dad. He's home.
Jessica hurriedly let go of my hair but didn't immediately let me. "Don't say anything to Dad!"
I just assumed it. Jessica took the plates and washed them.
"Ellen, are you and Jesicca doing the dishes?" My Dad greeted me.
Jessica smiled gently. "I can't let Ellen do it alone. I want to help her, Dad," Ellen said.
I hated every time Ellen said that to my father. She acted spoiled and as if she was the only child of my Dad. I'm honestly jealous. I let my Dad marry because I wanted him to be happy, but I wasn't. I wish I could live alone. My Dad forbade me before I graduated college and wouldn't let me live alone. Poor New York girl.

At night, I do my homework. I was very serious this time. Suddenly my phone vibrated. I looked at it for a moment. An unknown number had come in.
"Hi, Newbie."
I was surprised. It was Axl. How did he get my number? Did he ask Poland?
I ignored Axl's message, but he sent me another message a few minutes later.
"Don't try to ignore me, Newbie. I know you read my messages."
My heart was racing. Was he targeting me like in the movies? I was the stupid girl who got stuck with a bad boy? Oh, no. That won't happen to me. I'll never be tempted by Axl.
I picked up my phone. I was about to turn it off, but it rang instead.
"Damn!" Axl called me. Why is he so obsessed with me? Does he really want me to like him like the other girls? I'm still sane enough to like a punk like Axl. Even though he's the school owner's son. That means nothing to me if he's a rough guy.
I had to pick it up. "Hello," I answered in a calm voice. I hurriedly hid under my bed. I didn't want Jessica to hear me from the next room.
"Why didn't you text me back?" Axl asked.
"I didn't know it was your number," I replied. "I was busy anyway. I have homework to do."
"Oh, it must be English. I didn't do it. It's too complicated," Axl replied.
"I don't care. I'm hanging up. I have to do my homework."
"Why are you whispering?" Axl didn't even care that his phone was interrupting him.
"My parents are asleep. I don't want to disturb them," I replied.
I didn't realize someone had entered my room because I was under the bed. When I looked to the side, I saw Wilma's feet.
"Ellen, where are you? You can't sleep if you haven't cleaned the living room!"
I was shocked. I was currently on the phone with Axl. He must have heard Wilma's voice commanding me.
