Ellen POV
I cringe when I look into Axl's eyes. I was worried he would do things I couldn't imagine. My body was trembling. I didn't want to look at him so I chose to close my eyes.
"I'll take you home," Axl said.
"Wh-what?" I opened my eyes instantly. Axl had disappeared. He was walking towards his bike. He quickly put on his helmet and got on. He was waiting for me. I quickly ran up to him. He didn't look at me at all. What did I do wrong? He didn't start bothering me at first.
I quickly got on Axl's bike. On the way to my house, he didn't say anything. He rode the bike at a crazy speed. I didn't dare open my eyes. Did I hurt his pride so much that he wanted to kill me like this?
In just a few minutes, I was in my neighbourhood. I couldn't let Axl drive me home. Wilma would be so angry.
"Stop!" I yelled. And in an instant, Axl's motorcycle stopped. My whole body was shaking. I got off immediately.
Axl said nothing and then just left. I looked back. He was angry. He was furious.
***
The next day at the library. I told Poland about Axl. I didn't want to create gossip for myself. Instead, I wanted to ask Poland if I should avoid Axl. Meanwhile, after I came home yesterday, Jessica accused me of dating a guy, so I was late. I couldn't do anything when Wilma slapped me. But that's not important. I'm pretty used to their nasty behaviour. But I have to avoid Axl. Don't let him treat me like that at school too. It would be best if I avoided him.
"I think he likes you," Poland said. She didn't think at all when expressing her opinion.
"Axl?" I furrowed my brow. "That's impossible," I replied. "He doesn't like women like me."
"He's never approached any girl at school. The girls say that Axl's standards are very high." Poland further convinced me that I wasn't the girl Axl liked.
"And it wasn't me. He's just upset that I don't have a crush on him like the other girls," I replied.
Poland looked at me as if I was a freak of nature. "Are you really not interested in Axl? I mean. He's rich, cool, handsome, he's also very, very hot. He's the definition of the perfect man for this generation."
I shook my head. "I just want to focus on school. I need to finish my education and have a career," I replied confidently. Well, I need to live independently soon, so I no longer have to be with Wilma and Jessica.
Speaking of Jessica. She came to the library. She must have been looking for me. I had to leave Poland to meet her.
"I have to go back to class," I said to Poland.
"Hey, there's no class. What are you doing there?" Poland asked.
I didn't answer. I had to rush to class because Jessica didn't like to wait.
I walked out of the library. Jessica walked first. She still didn't want to tell people we were step-sisters. I walked quickly after her while closing the zipper of my bag. I didn't look forward until I bumped into something.
"s**t!" I screeched. My bag fell over, and the contents scattered.
"Hey, Newbie."
I heard that voice again. Axl's voice always called me Newbie. Wasn't he angry and didn't want to see me anymore?
He stepped on my bag. I tried to pull it, but Axl's legs were too strong.
"Please, let go of my bag," I said. I turned my head and saw Axl with some men who were at the log house yesterday.
"Hi, Goose." Kurt greeted me kindly. "Axl, you can't break this girl's bag. Look at her sad because of you."
Axl leaned over and gave me his piercing gaze. "She doesn't like me. So I don't care," Axl said right in my ear.
I ventured a look into his eyes. Oh, no. I was trapped. His eyes were so beautiful. His towering nose and sensually plump lips made something inside me tingle.
Axl took my bag. He also took my stuff.
"Meet me at the gym if you want your bag back," Axl said as he walked away.
Poland, who had just come out of the library, saw me sitting on the floor with nothing to do. I needed clarification. Should I just keep quiet? Or should I fight Axl? But I've never fought anyone.
"Are you okay, Ellen?" Poland helped me up.
"Yeah, I am okay. I have to go now!"
I chased after Axl. I am still determining what he'll do. I wanted my bag back. There was an urge to rebel in me. I didn't wish Axl to bully me as Jessica and Wilma did.
In the gym, there was no one. Axl had clearly asked me to come.
"Axl! Axl!" I called his name, but no one was there.
I waited for a while, and suddenly the gym door was closed from the outside.
"Oh, damn!" I ran to the door. I kicked it a few times, but nothing happened.
"Open it! Open it!"
I'm scared. I'm scared of the dark. I was afraid of being locked up like this. I looked around, and there was no light at all.
"Axl!" I shouted.
"I am here."
From the basketball court, Axl appeared carrying my bag. I quickly ran over to him. I grabbed my bag. Axl left it at that.
"What the hell are you doing!" I screamed. "Why are you doing this to me!"
Axl smiled at me. He moved closer to me. Hugged my body and suddenly kissed me on the lips. This time it wasn't just a peck. He really kissed me intensely. I couldn't help but surrender. For a few seconds, his lips played around on my lips. Finally, he stopped and looked at me with his sly smile.
"How was it? Do you like me now?" He asked me with a smile.
I slapped Axl's face very hard. This was an insult. My tears were falling. I fell to the floor and burst into tears.
Axl approached me slowly while looking at me. Like he felt guilty.
"Hey, hey. Are you crying?" He wanted to touch my hand, but I immediately hit him. I hit him so many times that Axl finally let it happen.
"What's wrong with a kiss?" Axl asked. "It's just a kiss."
"You're so rude! I hate rude men!" I squealed.
Axl looked up at my face, then wiped away the tears on my cheeks. "What am I supposed to do with you?"
"What the hell?" I screamed.
"You attract me like a magnet. I don't know why I always want to see you. You keep me up all night. Why are you rejecting me? What's missing in me? Everything has been fine so far."
"What do you mean?" I don't understand. I really didn't understand Axl's madness.
"Are you normal?" Axl asked me. "You're supposed to like me like everyone else. Your attitude makes me think of you all the time, Newbie."
