4. Axl And The Gang

Ellen POV Axl held my body down to get me on his bike. Oh, this is crazy! People were watching us. I had no choice but to get on Axl's bike. When I got on, Jessica, passing by with her new friends, saw me. She'll definitely rat me out to her mom. Axl got on his bike as soon as I sat on the back. He pulled my hand to hug his body. "Safety first," Axl said. I was speechless. I was scared, but there was no way to escape. I also wondered how he found me. Did he follow me? Axl's motorcycle was travelling very fast on the streets of Denver. I hesitated to hug Axl, but that failed. I had to hug him so I wouldn't fall. "Where are you taking me?" I asked Axl. I deliberately shouted so he would listen. But Axl didn't answer. Maybe he didn't hear me. Or was he slowly not responding to me? Not long after, we crossed an area with lots of trees. It's a beautiful place. I'm not familiar with Denver, but I have to admit it's gorgeous. There's more vegetation here than in New York. Axl's bike stopped at a house on the edge of the forest. I got off immediately. I feel jetlagged because Axl's bike is probably as fast as a MotoGP rider. "Are you okay?" Axl smiled at me playfully. "I think you should take some nausea medicine." My eyes squinted at Axl. I was willing to bet I would hate this guy for the rest of my life. "Come on," Axl said. "Where?" "Go inside," Axl replied. Unlike most homes in America, I saw a wooden house with an unusual shape. I must admit this place was excellent. "Is this your house?" I asked. I was amazed by its minimalist but very excellent shape. My father would have loved a building model like this. "Hem," Axl answered briefly. "You brought me to your house?" I was surprised, but Axl just walked away. I was forced to follow Axl. Every now and then, I looked at the clock. I must arrive on time to get home. Wilma would be angry if I didn't do my homework. When I walked into the wooden house. I was amazed because I saw some men having fun. Some of them were doing mechanic work. Others were making out in the corner of the room. I even saw a few bottles of alcohol. "I have to go home." I turned around. I felt this wasn't my place, but Axl took my hand. "You will stay," Axl said with a smile. I didn't like it when he smiled. It made me sick. It was like he was showing his dominance over me. My first day at school was really depressing because I had to meet a guy like Axl. "My mom will nag me if I don't get home on time." I gave an excuse, but Axl just chuckled. He was laughing at me. "You're making fun of me?" "Hey, Newbie. You're from New York. I'm sure New Yorkers aren't conservative. Freedom. Liberty, right?" I sighed in annoyance. Of course, there were no conservatives in the United States. But my Dad was possessive, and Wilma was a witch. She would punish me if I didn't do my duty. Axl looked at me, who wasn't smiling at all. I had no other reason than Wilma. I really need to go home soon. "Okay, maybe you should sit down first. We need to get to know each other." Axl sat on one of the couches. He patted the couch for me to sit next to him. "Hey, Axl!" The bald guy engrossed in the motorcycle wreckage called out to him. "Where did you get that goose?" Goose? Who? Me? Damn it. Why did he call me a goose? "She is Newbie, Kurt. I found her this morning at school," Axl replied casually. "She was walking alone. I didn't have the heart. I have to look after her, don't I?" The man named Kurt laughed. The other men laughed too. This doesn't seem like a good atmosphere. Why should I be here? I don't know them. "When can I go home?" I asked again. "I really need to go home soon." This time I emphasized Axl. And ridiculously, Axl threw a motorcycle key at me. "Use my bike to get home," Axl replied. "I'm tired. I want to sleep." There was no other choice. I should use Axl's bike, or I'm waiting for this guy. But I don't have a license. I can't drive a motorcycle. Or should I order an Uber? "I can drive you, Newbie." Kurt offered me. I saw how he smiled at me as if he wanted my body. "f**k!" Axl threw a screwdriver at Kurt, and it hit his bald head. "She's mine. Don't touch her." The other guys laughed at Axl's actions. I saw Kurt laughing too. But I didn't want to laugh. It's not funny. What was Axl's reason for bringing me here? It's ridiculous. We don't even know each other. "Axl, please. I have to go home. I mean it." This time I really begged. "We can meet again at school tomorrow. You can talk to me then." "Are you busy on Saturday?" Axl asked. "Saturday?" I tried to guess that Axl was going to ask me out. But suddenly, he was laughing again. He laughed so hard that I was sick of it. I stood up immediately. I didn't want to be here. I don't care if I have to walk. I have to leave Axl and his gang. I walked out of the wooden house. I looked around and saw no vehicles passing by. That meant I had to walk. As I walked out, my body suddenly felt like it was floating. I looked down, and Axl was lifting my body up. "Axl! Axl! Put me down. Put me down!" I screamed as loud as I could because I was scared. What is he going to do? It's criminal. Axl is so random. Axl put my body on the table. His right hand supports my waist while his left-hand rests on the table. He looked at me so intensely that I couldn't look the other way. "How is it? Are you interested in me now?" Axl asked. What should I say now? Axl is not my type. I never dated because I only focused on school. I'm a New Yorker. But I have to admit I'm behind the times. I'm just a quiet girl. Ever since my mom died, I felt no one understood me anymore. My Dad was busy working. I was left with a nanny until my Dad finally married Wilma, and my life became even more chaotic. My days were tiring with all the household chores. Luckily I had an intelligent brain, so I was pretty good at academics. "I don't like you, Axl. I'm not attracted to you, either. You're not the kind of man I want to be. A punk like you can't get me interested," I replied. Axl's expression changed. His smile was gone. I felt like my words had hurt his pride. "What the f**k?"
