Chapter 11

337 Words
Airi had finished reading the book to the children when she noticed that they were all fast asleep, some snoring, others with steady breaths. Crow and Airi had decided it was time to pick each of them up and take them to their respective rooms. They laid each of the children on their beds and placed their blankets over their bodies.  When they had finished, Ashley came up to the two of them.  “Are they asleep?”  Crow nodded in response, “none of them woke up while we moved them.” “That’s great. Good job you two!” Ashley excitedly whispered. “So, if you got time, wanna tell me how you two met?” “It was at the Meadow mall, I was shopping for clothes for White and me. I suddenly felt dizzy on my way out of one of the shops and fell, hitting my head on the corner of the cashier’s desk. Airi was the one who called an ambulance for me.” Ashley looked at Crow, worry in her eyes, “are you alright? How long did you have to stay there for?” Crow replied, “yeah I’m fine, I only had to stay for a couple of days.”  Ashley smiled, “that’s good.”  “We gotta go now, see ya later!” Crow said as he handed Ashley the remaining money he had on him and took Airi’s hand in his, walking out the door.  Ashley waved, “thanks for the donation, bye now.”  The two of them walked out the door, waving back, and headed for the car.  Airi looked at Crow as soon as the two of them made it inside the car.  “So, how do you know her anyway?” Airi had asked, curious. “Well, this orphanage is the earliest memory I have.” Crow answered. He looked down at his hand. At least it was, he thought to himself.  He turned the car on and began driving home.
