Prologue
I was in the classroom all alone. I came to school in the middle of the year and everyone had already made friends and I was left all alone. Six year old me was playing with a small ball I saw in the corner rolling it in my hands. I was so bored, I heard some students laughing and I was curious, so I went to check it out.
Everyone was playing ball on the court, they didn't even see me. I stood back and watched them play. I was too shy to approach them, I was so sad I did not have any friends that I left and went to the field at the other side of the school.
It was an open space with trees and green scenery. It was so beautiful, I did not see anyone here so I sat under a tree and cried my bottled up feelings since this morning.
I was sobbing until I heard rustling sound. I looked around and saw nothing, then a boy climbed down from the tree I was next to. He stared at me and spoke in a soft voice.
"Are you okay?"
I was so surprised I thought he was going to laugh at me and tell his friends that I'm a cry baby.
"I-I-I -uh." I couldn't form any words, I was so embarrassed.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" he asked concern all over his face.
"I-I-I don't have any friends." I said close to tears again.
He didn't say anything so I stared into his gray eyes and found him staring right back at me. What he said then shocked me.
"I can be your friend if you want." he gave me a sweet smile.
"Really" I replied skeptically.
"Sure, if that's what you want."
A smile took over my face and I lunged at him and gave him a big hug, he did not expect that and we both tumbled and I fell on top of him. I stared in his grey eyes while he stared in my green ones. He then helped me stand up. We dusted ourselves off and I introduced myself.
"My name is Cassiopeia but you can call me Cassie or Pea." I chirped happily.
"My name is -uh- Hunter." He took a second to reply.
After that awkward introduction we played together in the field. We started meeting more often. After that it became our daily routine. We would meet up at lunch time to talk, play and just spend with each other.
We became best friends and even had nicknames for each other, I called him Hunt while he called me Pea. We became inseparable since the day we met. That was until one day at lunch he came to me.
"Pea I'm moving away." He said in a sad voice.
"What do you mean?"
"I'm going to live somewhere else I came to say goodbye." He stated looking down sadly.
"You're leaving, you can't I-I. Don't go!" I shouted pulling him into a tight embrace. I started crying and begging him not to go.
"I can't I want to stay but daddy won't let me. I promise we will see each other again soon okay." he said crying as he hold me in his arms.
"Do you pinky swear?" six year old me said as I hold out my pinky.
"I pinky swear." he replied and joined his pinky with mine.
"Promise you won't forget me," I said through my tears. He looked me in the eyes.
"I will never forget you Peah, ever." He replied and pecked me on the lips and I felt something shock through me. I did not know what the kiss meant so I shook it off. I didn't think too much about it.
We spent our remaining time together cherishing our last moments. We said our last good bye and parted ways promising to see each other again and to never to forget each other.
