The light was bright behind her eyelids. No matter how she tilted and turned her head, the light didn’t dissipate, it didn’t move, just stayed bright. In extreme irritation, she slid her eyes open to slits. Since they weren’t completely closed and flush, the sun was beating through the gaps. As her pupils painfully constricted, her mind slogged through her memories to orient herself. She rifled through her thoughts trying to figure out what seemed weird about the sun. Then it clicked.
