The Princ\'s Search Begins

Liam's Pov: 

It had been weeks since Mia, Max, Or Jenna had been to school. Not that I might not see Max or Jenna but I did wonder why Mia had stopped coming. I knew she wanted to be a nurse so I knew something had to be wrong for her to miss in all the years I've known her she has never missed a day. I was sitting in the lunchroom racking my brain as to why she would have missed and why Max and Jenna had been missing I wasn't concerned with that other friend of hers I never liked her neither did Blade my wolf. 

"Hey Liam dude did you hear the rumor man", My Beta Hunter asks as he and my Gamma Nixon come walking upsetting their trays down. "No, what's up", I ask them curiously since they both have this weird look on their faces like they don't know if they should tell me. "Well it concerns the Beta twins", Nixon says getting me really interested. "Just spit it out already", I tell them getting annoyed. "Okay okay dude just chill", Hunter laughs. "So rumor has it that Mia ran away from Black River", Nixon tells me stuffing his face with food. "Hold up what when", I ask them to shock evident on my face. "From what I heard like a week or two after the party", Nixon continues still stuffing his face. "Do they know why she ran", I ask knowing she must have a good reason for running away. "If they do they ain't saying but the alpha has everyone out searching", Hunter continues since Nixon has his mouth packed with food. "Maybe we should help search", Nixon says having swallowed the food. "First off that's a good idea second how in the hell did you not choke", I ask him causing him to laugh. "Dude why do you think my mom refers to me as a garbage disposal", he continues laughing.

After school, I call mom and dad to tell them what's going on, and then we make our way to Black River Pack. Once we get there we find the alpha and beta waiting for us at the border. "Alpha Richards and Beta Daniels nice to see you both again I wish it were under better circumstances", I tell them shaking their hands. "Yes my young prince it is good to see as well", Alpha Richards greets us as I look over at Beta Daniels and notice how he looks.

"The guy looks so broken", I hear Hunter say through our link. "Yeah your daughter disappearing will have that effect on someone", I say back and he doesn't respond.

 "Don't take this the wrong way but why do you wanna help find my daughter", Beta Daniels asks as we head to the alpha's office. " I'm not sure exactly I just have this feeling that I need to", I tell him honestly with a shrug. " We appreciate the help the sooner we find her the sooner she can come home", Alpha Richards says opening the door to his office.

"Okay so here is where patrol lost her and here is where we tracked her scent to", Alpha Richards shows us on the map. "May I ask how patrol lost a newly shifted wolf even if she is the daughter of a beta she shouldn't have been able to outrun patrol having just shifted", Nixon interrupts. "We're still figuring that out one minute patrol was gaining on next minute she got a sudden burst of energy and took off", He says as I notice the sadness in Beta Daniels eyes.

"That's very interesting this should be a fun chase than", Blade says suddenly through our link. "Do you know how she could have outrun the patrol", I ask him. "I have a theory and once I get more information I will tell you", He says. "If I'm right she is one powerful wolf and she has suffered great pain", He continues to say before going quiet.

"If you don't mind us asking why did she run in the first place", Nixon asks. I watch as both men stiffen at the question and their eyes glaze over and I know their minds linking each other. "I'll answer your question but I want your word what we talk about does not leave this room", Alpha Richards says catching our attention as we all nod at each other. "You have our word Alpha we will not speak a word of this conversation to anyone", I say.

"John she's your daughter you should explain", Alpha Richards says turning to look at his beta. "I suppose I should start at the beginning", he sighs. "It started the night after Steven made his speech Max was the first to jump off stage ran straight for Jenna while Mia jumped and ran off into the woods we saw her come back about an hour after she said she had smelled her mate but lost the scent", he says rubbing a hand through his hair. " Later that night her shift was worse then it should have been we didn't think much of it at the time we just assumed it was cause she hadn't found her mate but we were wrong we should have figured it out then", he says punching a nearby wall as his eyes begin to flicker. "Calm yourself John I would be angry if it was my daughter as well but getting angry won't help Alpha Steven says. "Yes of course alpha my apologies", Beta John apologizes as his alpha just waves him off. "Later that night we heard Mia screaming in pain we found that's when we knew her mate had rejected her and was with another", he says not being able to hold back the tears remembering his daughter in pain.

We stand there stunned by his confession it is considered taboo to reject your mate it rarely happens. "What a complete i***t whoever this guy is he is really stupid", Hunter says getting angry. "Do you know who it was", I ask. "No she never would tell us we think she may have seen him again in the woods the day she left", he says. "Why do you think that", Nixon asks having been quiet this entire time. "Well just before she ran we heard her howl but this one was of someone in pain it was so heart breaking that my wife cried and so did many more pack members", Alpha Richards continues.

"Now that you know everything will you help search", Beta John asks with some hope shining in his eyes. "We should help the search we need to find her", Blade says catching my attention. "I know that but why do you want to help", I ask him. "You'll see once we find her and we have to hurry", he says going quiet before I can ask why. I look over to my friends seeing them nod already knowing what's on my mind I turn back to them and look them in the eyes considering everything that was said and how I feel about Mia.

"Yes will help with the search my father having given me complete authority you have the royal trackers as well as the three of us at your service", I tell them watching Beta John smile at my words. "Thank you my prince you will have our full support once you take the throne", Alpha Steven says.
