Dereck

Reaching the meeting in time was my top priority so I decided to speed up a little bit, as I saw her. Long coppery brown hair, a slender figure and when she looked over to my car, I saw her stunning light blue eyes. I tried to brake but I already realized that its going to be too late. She screamed and I couldn`t believe my eyes as she changed from a girl into a coppery red wolf. It all happened so fast and as I opened the door and ran to her, she was already back to her normal human form.

“Was I hallucinating? How did she do that? No, I think I was imagining things” I told myself. I picked her up and carried her to my car.  “Dereck you are a f*****g i***t! You will be late for the meeting and as if everything isn’t bag enough you had to run over a girl! Congratulations you prick,” I yelled at myself.  Arriving one hour later than hoped, the meeting was already over. I picked the still unconscious girl up and delivered her to the hospital wing.

“Maya, come here and take care of her!”

My best friend Maya hurried over to me and took the girl out of my hands “What the hell happened Dereck?”

“Long story short, I hid her with the car and yes I know that you will punch me in the face later on because of the accident but can you check her for any marks?”

“Marks? Why her, was she turned?”

“I thought I saw her turn into a copper wolf and I just want to make sure that I wasn’t hallucinating,” I replied.

“Wait what? You mean she might be the one we have been waiting for? I will do as you say but Dereck you are right, I WILL PUNCH YOU IN THE FACE for causing the accident and hurting this girl,” she yelled at me.

A few hours later Maya entered my office and told me that she couldn’t find any marks on the girl and that she might wake up at any time.  So I decided to go and visit this girl and I will take my advisor Connor with me. Reaching Connors room, I found him sitting at his office desk reading a book.

“Connor I need your gift”, I said.

“Sure man what’s going on?”

“I will tell you everything but you have to promise to keep your mouth shut as long as my assumption isn’t confirmed.” He nodded and I continued “I ran over a girl on my way to the meeting and I think I saw her turn into a wolf but Maya said she has no marks on her body. By the way we need to talk about the meeting soon. I need to know what I have missed.”

“Dude shut the f**k up, the meeting is not important now. You ran over an innocent girl and she could be the one that’s more important”, Connor shrieked.

“Okay, I understand you want me to enter her mind and find out if she is the one. If not, I will erase her memories about us, and we will send her back home!”

I nodded. Man, I love how smart Connor is and I cannot wish for a better friend than him. Together we entered her room and a few minutes later she opened her eyes. “Where am I” she asked.
