Shape- shifter history

After hearing and seeing all those unbelievable things I wanted to know more. My curiosity got the better of me. I cleared my throat and all eyes were on me “First of all Hi my name is Alexis ahm, okay let`s say you are a shape- shifter what is your gift? How does “becoming” a shifter work?  Connor are you one too, and the most important question is WHY am I here?”

“One question at a time sweety,“ Connor said.

“My man Dereck is one of the rare shifters who has two gifts: Strength and his eyesight. He is able to see everything living within a large distance. It doesn’t matter if it’s a rat or a human Dereck can find whatever he is looking for. The only downside is that he can use his eyesight only in his animal form. So next question: Yes I am a skin- walker too. My spirit animal is a fox and I have a gift that I like to call mind playing. I can enter people’s minds and see their memories, add new ones of erase old ones if I wish.”

 I looked stunned “oh my gosh, that is so cool! Okay, Connor when did I get my first sketchbook?”

“Let’s see,” Connor closed his eyes and a brief second later he said, “when you were 4 years old.”

“AAAAHHH that’s so awesome”, I said,  Dereck cleared his throat and I gave him the attention that he wanted.

I turned my head in his direction and he continued to answer my questions.

“The question how shape- shifters are made is pretty complicated but I will try to answer it truthfully and with all necessary information needed. It all started a long time ago with a man who loved a woman.”

“BORING,” Connor shouted and Dereck and I both said, “Shut up”, simultaneously.

“Where was I? The Name of the man was Andrew and her name was Luise. Andrew loved Luise and wanted to make her his wife. In the past men had to get the blessings of the brides’ fathers but Luise had lost her parents and therefore Andrew wanted to ask her directly. He went to her home and found a man in Luise bed. Furious and full of aggressions Andrew started a fight with the man. Andrew couldn’t stop and saw red. He took the dagger that he always kept in his boot out and stabbed the man in the chest. A few seconds later Luise was already at the door and saw Andrew leaning over the man. She cried und said “What have you done to my lover? I always told you that I love you like a brother but not like a lover. I will never forgive you for killing him. You will never find love again und you will live a life longer than every other human. You will fight battles and you will atone for your sins. You will find the lost souls and give them a second chance like I did with you. Lead them and fight for redemption. This curse is unbreakable and will never wither.” Andrew didn’t know what she meant until he felt the agonizing pain that shot through his hole body. He shifted into a silver wolf and got the gift of visions. He was able to see what happened and what is going to happen in the future. This gift helped him to find other lost souls and offer them a second life as a shape- shifter. Becoming a shifter involves a ritual which is the only way to become like us. First the shifter wants to know if you want redemption and a chance to live a good meaningful life and if you truthfully answer with yes you will receive a mark. This mark will burn the hell out of you and the burning will not stop until you drink a sip of the shifters blood to accept the curse. After accepting the curse, you will shift for the first time and find out what your gifts are. Andrew was our Chief and he trained us and gave us the love we never thought we deserved. Luise as you might have already guessed was a really powerful witch and she left her home without taking anything with her after cursing Andrew. Andrew found a few books and other stuff and brought them here. Because of these books we know about all supernatural beings that threaten and kill humans. This was the start of our organization that we call “the sanctuary”.
