PRINCE LEANDRO… As I ordered, Aldric took her out, and I sat back on the chair some feet away from where I stood. I grabbed the jar of liquor and poured it for myself, with my legs crossed. I had gotten a message from my father about my eunuch's gender and species being under suspicion, even though my mother had already tried checking her. I recalled that my mother failed the other time, so I insisted on doing every investigation myself. Since I knew her real gender, I was only concerned about her species, because she had gone into full heat during the full moon, which, if I didn't go into rut and come for her, those lycans would have successfully found out her secret. I still didn't know her species until today. “My Prince…” Aldric's voice pulled my attention. Just by the clicking of my tongue, I unlocked the door, and he walked in. He bowed and took a seat. “My prince, do you realise that she didn't die after you took your tattoo because her lycan has been awakened?” I rolled my eyes. I hadn't even thought of that. “She must have been scared you would cast her away if you found out she was a lycan, which was why she put her lycan into slumber again,” he added and scoffed. “And she doesn't recall anything yet.” I dropped the cup I had been holding, “Aldric…” I mentioned, and he turned to me. “Don't you find it suspicious?” His brows arched, “What? Is it that she's a lycan?” I shook my head, "She's the same age as Jeyne. Her lycan is two thousand years old, and last night was her birthday…the same with Jeyne.” His shoulders dropped, and I sighed deeply. “But, Jeyne's Lycan wasn't active even though it was in her, unlike Hansel,” he said, and I only nodded, because he was telling the truth. Jeyne was a gamma, and her father was the chief gamma lycan of the clan. Hansel is also a gamma, and the only difference was that Jeyne's lycan wasn't active, but Hansel's lycans were so active as though it was an alpha. Everything was confusing. They had the same look, had the same birthday, and also the same rank. How could two people have so many things similarly? If only she recalled her past, then it would help matters, because I was losing it. I watched my mate take her last breath, so I was very sure it wasn't her. But I wasn't letting Hansel go, even if she was a lycan, because she was a substitute for my mate, and her presence around me mattered a lot. “My prince, what are you going to do about the king's query about her? Would you let him find out? She would be banished for hiding her lycan, and would be executed if her gender is revealed….and the matter seems to be so serious.” Aldric uttered, but I didn't even glance at him. I was deep in thought, not even worried about all those, but the weird resemblance between the dead and the living. The silence that stretched between us became so irritating, and I ordered Aldric to leave, because I needed to be alone. By the end of that day, I was still baffled about the whole thing and didn't even have a specific solution to whatever my father was waiting to hear from me. I only went straight to the torture room to meet her, seated alone on the chilly floor. She didn't realise I was before her until I cleared my throat, then she went to her knees, her watery eyes affixed on my face. “Do you still not remember anything about yourself?” I asked her and she shook her head. “Not even a word from your lycan?” She narrowed her eyes and then started, “My lycan also lost memories. She only remembered that I called her ‘Yummy’, and that we've lived for thousands of years.” Yummy… Yummy… I couldn't stop mentioning that word in my mind. No way! Jeyne didn't give her lycan a name. But to be sure, I had to mindlink Aldric, ‘Did Jeyne ever give her lycan a name?’ ‘I think so. Yummy, or Yumming, or Tommy. I just know that it ended with that sound, but she only said she would call her lycan that, if it ever became active.’ I swallowed my saliva and shook my head, ‘It can't be true. I've also met five lycans bearing the same name, so it's possible they could bear the same name…but it's still strange. Besides, Jeyne’s lycan was inactive, so it couldn't have recalled the name Jeyne intended to call it.’ ‘That's true.’ I cut the mindlink and walked closer to Hansel. “Stand up.” She quickly stood, her hand fidgeting. “You're going to be here until I sort out everything. If you're ever asked why you hid your lycan, tell them boldly that you were shot, and out of fear, your lycan went to slumber." I stated, and she nodded firmly. I loved so much that there was not a trace of anger on her face, and I couldn't feel any hatred for me lurking around. “But, are you still going to be safe? Hope it won't affect you?” She broke the silence, and I chuckled. “Worry about yourself first,” I responded and turned to leave, but she held me by my hand, and I swore with my life; she was the first person to do that. “Is there anything you want to say?” How cool I sounded just that instant, even stunned me, because for whom I had been since I returned from the lava, I was supposed to strike her first before asking her reason. She licked her lips and nodded, “Uhm, I needed to know if you'll cast me out of your side because I'm a lycan. I honestly do not want to be a lycan, so I could entirely get rid of my lycan if that's… ‘Are you nuts? Get rid of me? Why would you? Don't you…. “It's okay, I won't let that happen.” I shut her lycan up. The baby girl almost spilled that we were mates, and that was one thing I didn't want her to know about, or she would cling onto me, even if it meant dying. I looked her in the eyes and exhaled, "I'd rather kill you than cast you out, but you shouldn't worry about that now…because I can't save you from my mum.” I licked my lips and was about to leave when she slowly got to her knees.
