The victory of Team Seven spread across **IN Tech University** like wildfire. By Monday morning, every student in the Computer Science department was talking about the same match. "Did you see the bridge collapse?" "That hidden tunnel strategy was insane!" "I heard Team Seven finished the match in less than twenty minutes." "And that second-year girl... Ananya Rao... she's unbelievable." As students whispered excitedly, Ananya walked through the corridor with her backpack slung over one shoulder. She kept her head down. She hated being the center of attention. Riya, on the other hand, was enjoying every second. "Our celebrity has arrived!" she teased. Ananya sighed. "Please don't call me that." "Why not?" "Because I'm not one." Meera smiled. "You might not want fame, but your talent speaks for itself." Before Ananya could reply, a group of first-year students stopped in front of her. "Excuse me..." She looked up. One of the boys smiled nervously. "Can you give us some gaming tips?" Another added, "We watched your match yesterday." "It was amazing." Ananya smiled politely. "I'm still learning myself." The students thanked her before walking away. Riya stared at her. "Still learning?" "You carried the entire team!" "I didn't." "We won because everyone trusted each other." Meera nodded. "That's exactly why you're different." --- Meanwhile... Inside the Student Council Office... Arjun was reviewing the tournament schedule. Vikram walked in holding a newspaper. Without saying a word, he placed it on the desk. The front page of the university newsletter showed a photograph of Team Seven. The headline read: ### **'The Dark Horse Team Stuns Everyone.'** Arjun looked at the picture. Ananya wasn't smiling at the camera. Instead, she was helping Rohit reconnect his keyboard after the match. Vikram noticed Arjun staring. "Interesting photo." Arjun nodded. "Most people celebrate after winning." "She made sure her teammate was okay first." Vikram grinned. "You've been observing her a lot." "I'm observing a teammate." "Sure..." Vikram laughed. "Keep telling yourself that." --- That afternoon... Professor Raman entered the gaming arena. Every participant immediately became silent. "I have an important announcement." The projector lit up. ### **Quarterfinal Matches** "The next round begins in three days." "But before that..." "We'll conduct leadership evaluations." Confused whispers spread across the room. Professor Raman continued, "Each team will participate in a special challenge." "The purpose is simple." "We want to see how you perform under unexpected pressure." The students exchanged curious glances. "What kind of challenge, sir?" someone asked. Professor Raman smiled. "You'll find out tomorrow." --- As the students began leaving the arena, someone blocked Team Seven's path. Kabir Malhotra. He stood with his hands in his pockets, wearing a confident smile. "So..." "The famous Team Seven." Rohit folded his arms. "What do you want?" Kabir ignored him. His eyes remained fixed on Ananya. "I finally get to meet the mastermind." Ananya answered calmly. "We just played well." "No." Kabir took a step closer. "You planned every move." "You deserve the credit." She didn't respond. Kabir smiled again. "I've watched your matches." "You're... different." Arjun quietly stepped between them. "Do you need something?" Kabir chuckled. "I just wanted to congratulate your team." His expression changed. "But don't get too comfortable." "The quarterfinals won't be this easy." Arjun met his gaze. "We never expected them to be." For several seconds, neither looked away. Students nearby sensed the tension. Finally, Kabir smiled. "I hope we meet in the finals." "So do I," Arjun replied. Kabir turned and walked away. As soon as he disappeared, Rohit let out a breath. "That guy gives me the creeps." Sneha nodded. "He's acting strangely." Ananya remained silent. Something about Kabir's eyes unsettled her. It felt as though... He knew something. --- Later that evening... The campus library was unusually quiet. Rain tapped gently against the windows as students prepared for their mid-semester exams. Ananya sat alone in a corner, surrounded by programming books. She was so focused on her laptop that she didn't notice someone approaching. A cup of hot coffee appeared beside her. She looked up. Arjun. "You've been here for three hours." She blinked. "How do you know?" "I've been sitting two tables behind you." She looked around in surprise. "I didn't even notice." "I figured." He smiled. "You skipped lunch too." "You noticed that as well?" "You can't think properly if you don't eat." She laughed softly. "So this coffee is your solution?" "And sandwiches." He placed a small paper bag on the table. "I'm not hungry." "That's exactly what people say when they're hungry." For the first time since they met... Their conversation felt natural. No tournament. No strategy. No pressure. Just two students talking. Ananya took a sip of the coffee. "It's good." Arjun smiled. "I know." --- Outside the library... Kabir stood beneath a tree, watching through the glass windows. He took out his phone. Zoomed in. Click. A photograph of Arjun and Ananya sitting together. Another click. This time... Ananya smiling. Kabir looked at the pictures for a long moment. "So..." "Even StormKnight is getting closer." His smile slowly returned. "This is going to make things much easier." He slipped the phone into his pocket and disappeared into the darkness before either of them noticed. --- Back inside the library... Ananya packed her books. "Thank you..." "For the coffee." Arjun shrugged. "You can buy me one after we win the championship." She smiled. "Deal." Neither of them realized... Someone had just begun turning their growing friendship into a weapon against them. The following morning, the IN Tech University Gaming Arena was packed long before the event began. Students filled every seat, eagerly waiting to learn about the mysterious leadership challenge Professor Raman had announced the previous day. Team Seven gathered near their assigned gaming stations. Rohit stretched his fingers nervously. "I don't like surprises." Sneha laughed. "You don't like anything that involves thinking." "Hey!" "I think... sometimes." Ananya smiled at their usual argument. For a moment, she forgot all about Kabir's unsettling words from the previous day. Professor Raman walked onto the stage. "Good morning, everyone." The conversations immediately died down. "As future representatives of IN Tech University, you must be more than skilled players." "You must become leaders." The giant screen behind him lit up. Leadership Challenge Objective: One member from each team will become the captain. The remaining three members must follow only the captain's instructions. No discussions. No suggestions. Only the captain may speak during the match. Gasps spread across the arena. Rohit looked horrified. "What?" "We can't even talk?" Professor Raman smiled. "Exactly." "A leader must make decisions quickly." "And a team must learn to trust." The names of each team's captain appeared one by one. Then... TEAM SEVEN Captain: Ananya Rao The arena became silent. Ananya blinked. "Me?" Rohit looked at Arjun. "I thought you'd be captain." Arjun smiled calmly. "I suggested Ananya." She turned toward him in surprise. "You did?" Professor Raman nodded. "Each team submitted a recommendation yesterday." "Mr. Varma personally nominated you." Ananya stared at Arjun. "You trusted me?" "I've trusted your decisions since our first match." For a second... She didn't know what to say. The match began. Today's battlefield was unlike anything they had played before. It was a dense forest divided by rivers, cliffs, and hidden caves. Visibility was poor. Every wrong turn could lead directly into an ambush. The countdown echoed. 3... 2... 1... START Ananya took a deep breath. Everyone waited for her command. She quickly studied the map. "Rohit." "North entrance." "Draw their attention." "Don't engage." Rohit nodded immediately. "Got it." "Sneha." "Stay behind Arjun." "Keep him alive." "Okay." Finally, she looked at Arjun. "The eastern cliff." "We'll attack from above." Without asking a single question... Arjun simply replied, "Understood." Watching from the judges' table, Professor Raman smiled. "They're already trusting her." For the first few minutes, everything went exactly as planned. Rohit successfully distracted the enemy team. Sneha quietly supported everyone from a safe distance. Meanwhile, Ananya and Arjun climbed the rocky cliffs overlooking the battlefield. Suddenly— A warning flashed across every screen. Hidden Trap Activated The ground beneath Arjun collapsed. He slipped toward the edge of the cliff. "Arjun!" Several students in the audience gasped. Without thinking, Ananya changed her route. Instead of chasing the objective, she rushed toward him. "Use your grappling hook!" Arjun fired it instantly. The hook caught a nearby tree branch. He pulled himself back onto solid ground just in time. The crowd erupted into applause. Professor Raman nodded. "Excellent decision." "She chose her teammate over the objective." But the danger wasn't over. The enemy team surrounded Rohit near the river. "I'm trapped!" Ananya looked at the map. There was no time to rescue him directly. Then she noticed something. The river current. "Everyone..." "Follow me." Arjun didn't hesitate. Within seconds, they reached the top of a small waterfall. Ananya smiled. "We're not fighting them." "We're using the river." She destroyed a wooden barrier holding back the water. A powerful wave rushed downstream. The sudden current swept the enemy players away from Rohit. The audience stood and cheered. "What an incredible strategy!" "I would've never thought of that!" Rohit laughed through his headset. "Remind me never to underestimate rivers again." Only one final objective remained. The enemy captain had already reached the control tower. If they captured it first... The match would end. Ananya looked around carefully. Every normal path was blocked. Then she noticed an abandoned zipline hidden between two cliffs. "There." Arjun followed her gaze. "I don't think it's usable." "It is." "How can you tell?" "The support cables are new." Without waiting another second, she jumped. The zipline carried her across the valley. Arjun followed immediately. The crowd watched in stunned silence. Within seconds... The two landed directly behind the enemy captain. The opponent never saw them coming. A perfectly timed attack. MISSION COMPLETE Bright golden letters filled every screen. TEAM SEVEN WINS The arena exploded with applause. Students stood on their feet. Even the rival teams clapped in admiration. Professor Raman walked toward Team Seven. He looked directly at Ananya. "Leadership isn't about giving orders." "It's about earning trust." He smiled proudly. "And today..." "You earned it." Ananya glanced toward Arjun. "Thank you..." He smiled. "For what?" "For believing in me." "I didn't believe in you." She looked confused. "I knew you could do it." A faint blush appeared on her cheeks before she quickly looked away. From the back of the arena... Kabir watched everything silently. He wasn't interested in the victory. His attention was fixed on something else. During the match... Ananya had instinctively used a rare strategy known as The Falcon Route. Only one player had ever made that strategy famous. ShadowFlame. Kabir slowly opened his laptop. He compared today's replay with an old championship recording. Frame by frame. Move by move. His smile disappeared. "This isn't coincidence anymore..." "It's proof." Just then, his phone vibrated. A message appeared from an unknown number. Did you find ShadowFlame? Kabir typed only three words. Almost. Very soon. He closed the laptop and looked toward Team Seven celebrating together. "This tournament..." "is just the beginning."
