1. Failure To Perform Work
"I told you, bring that woman here as soon as possible so that I can teach her a lesson about what betrayal means. Did you not hear what I said earlier? Your ears are still functioning properly, right?" The man sitting on the sofa glared at the bodyguard in front of him. His eyes flashed sharply, and his jaw hardened, followed by his hands that were clenched into fists until his knuckles appeared to turn white. "I'm sorry, sir, but that woman managed to escape, she escaped my sight. I know I'm at fault, I'm sorry, sir." The bodyguard looked down, feeling so guilty that his throat was blocked. The old man in the suit in front of the bodyguard grunted, trying to be patient and keep his anger down. "Harry, I can always count on you for anything. I know that your work is good, and I trust you. There's one thing you need to remember, you've never failed, let alone let me down like this. But, why is it different this time, what's wrong with you, Harry?" Harry, the bodyguard, spoke again. "I'm very sorry, sir, this is beyond my expectations, I shouldn't have let you down like this. I apologize once again. I promise to work even harder, I beg you, give me a chance, I will bring that woman here as soon as I can." "I believe in you, I know you can do that, Harry. In fact, you really disappointed me today. I'm angry that you let that damn woman go. Even though there was only one more step until she was within my reach. And I could have killed her with my own bare hands." The man spoke at length, then he loosened the tie that felt like it was strangling his neck, followed by undoing the top two buttons of the shirt he was wearing. "Sir, perhaps this time I failed to fulfill your request, I know that you will be very disappointed with me. But, I beg of you, give me one more chance, and I will finish everything." Harry took a step forward, then he spoke again, this time his words sounded deep, serious, and very earnest. "I promise to bring that woman before you, sir. I will not be missed again, I will find that woman, then bring her before you, as soon as possible." The man in front of Harry, whose name was Steve, nodded visibly. "I hope you're not just bragging or trying to please me." "No, that's wrong, I really mean it. I'm just asking for one more chance, and this time I'll be more careful in my actions." "Are you sure that you won't fail again?" "I promise, and I am very sure, I will try very hard," Harry said while looking at his master seriously. Harry was silent, he was waiting for an answer. "Alright," Steve said as he nodded. He then reached out and took the champagne bottle in front of him. Then they started downing it brutally. Harry still stood there, waiting to see what would happen next. "Harry, I'm going to give you three days from now, are you up to it?" "Three days?" "Yes, that's enough time, right? I want you to bring that woman here, right in front of me. I want to kill her with my hands," Steve said, his words sounding heavy. In truth, three days was a very short time, but Harry couldn't possibly protest. He was a subordinate here, and whatever his master ordered, he would do as much as possible without arguing. That was his job. That was his way of earning money to survive. "Okay, I get it," Harry said, his head nodding steadily. The handsome man with the muscular body took a step back. "I'll try harder." "That's what you have to do. I remind you, don't let me down, this time you have to succeed." "Yes, you can count on me, sir." The old man smiled wryly and took another swig of champagne. "I am counting on you, who else but you? You are my trusted man, Harry. And I'm sorry if I yelled at you earlier." "I'm fine, it's no big deal. I deserved that. I let you down." "Yeah, but I should at least keep my temper, I'm old, I shouldn't be too hard on you. After all, you're only human, and just like me, we all make mistakes." Steve smiled. "The point is, I'm sorry. I had high expectations that you would succeed. That's why I was so angry when you came empty-handed. But now it doesn't matter, you can try again, I'm giving you a second chance." "I'm sorry, sir." Steve waved his hand. "You don't need to keep apologizing. Now, you better finalize your plan. I don't care what you do, I just want that b***h. Got it?" "I understand, sir." "Good, you only have three days, remember that well. Sunday at midnight, that woman is already in this house, you understand, right?" Harry replied that he understood everything, and he nodded quickly. "Alright, now you better sit down and accompany me to drink champagne. Come here." Steve waved a hand, then patted the soft, empty sofa next to his body. Harry grimaced, then shook his head. "Ah, I'm afraid I must decline that, sir. I can't." "You won't?" "I'm just trying to cut down on alcoholic beverages these days, I'm sorry," Harry said in an apologetic tone of voice. The handsome man looked down. "Ah, I see. Well, what can I do? I certainly can't force you. It's your own choice, I can't do anything about it." "Thank you for your understanding." "No problem, although it's actually a pity. I wanted to have fun." Steve crossed one leg. "Okay, now what do you want?" "Sorry, what do you mean, sir?" "You're free now, your work for today is done. What do you want?" "If I'm being honest, I actually need to rest, my body feels tired." "Ah, so you need to rest." "Yes, that's what I want." "Alright, you may leave now." "Thank you, sir." Harry slowly moved backwards, away from his master, and then, as he stood in the doorway, Harry's movements were halted as Steve called his name. "Harry." "Yes?"
