Chapter 16: A Friend's Comfort After the announcement, Erica quickly left the mansion. She ran to her best friend, Jane, who had always been there for her. Jane was shocked to hear about what had happened at the wedding and immediately comforted Erica. Jane listened as Erica poured out her heart, telling her everything that had happened. She told Jane about Alexander's decision to marry Lucy, about his father's threats, and about the humiliating announcement at the wedding. Jane was furious on Erica's behalf. She couldn't believe what Alexander's father had done. But more than that, she was worried about Erica. She knew that Erica was heartbroken, and she wanted to help her friend. Jane comforted Erica, telling her that she was strong and that she would get through this. She reminded Erica of all the challenges she had faced and overcome in the past. She told Erica that she was not alone, that she had friends who cared about her and would support her. Erica was grateful for Jane's support. She felt a little better knowing that she had a friend who cared about her. She knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but she also knew that she wasn't alone.
