Ch 17 Breakfast

Chapter 17

•3rd POV•

She ran through the woods the sky was dark and it was eerily quiet as she ran through the woods with much alarm. She heard an eerie chuckle which made her run faster, stumbling slightly as the chuckles got louder she ran and ran then tripped over a root.

She landed on the ground with a thud and then scrambled up as she turned and looked around to see what was following her. She whipped her head around trying to see what it was then her eyes landed on a pair of amber eyes peering at her from the shadows.

She flinched and started to back away in the opposite direction the eyes kept their gaze as they got closer, she kept backing away never taking her eyes away from the sight before her.

Then the eyes came into better view and she could make out a silhouette and his features became clearer her heart rate began to pick up and she couldn’t help but whimper as he got closer, “What's the matter Xoila?” he said as he got closer.

She tried to back away further but was met with the cold rough bark of a tree his gaze piercing her and sending terrible chills down her spine. She began to quiver as she shook her head from side to side and stammered “S-Stay A-A-Away ff-from me!!” he gave her a wicked smile and was dangerously close.

She felt her skin prickle as he began chanting her name

“Xoila”

“Xoila”

“Xoila”

“Xoila!”

She let out a scream and her eyes shot open and she came face to face with a very worried pairs of eyes and felt tears started to run down her face as she felt panic take over her. Then she felt a hand on her shoulder and was met a pair of different colored eyes one silver and one amber full of understanding.

“Xo it was just a dream,” she said as she moved to hug her best friend “It’s okay now...we’re safe” she began to stroke her hair. Zari placed a comforting hand on her back rubbing small circles to help her feel better.

Xoila let a few more tears roll down her face and clung to Stacy for dear life mumbling sorry and then they heard Zen come in the room saying“Hey you guys I brought some breakfast snacks over since Oris seems to have everything on this jet” he said as he tried to balance everything in his arms while trying to carefully walk over.

He went over to place everyone's food on the table and then turned to see the scene before him “Ooh-- sorry, did I interrupt a moment?” then he began to stammer “Uuh if you want I’ll come back…I just thought everyone would be hun-hungry is all...I'm gonna go now”

then Xoila let out a soft chuckled and pulled out from Stacy and Zaris comfort with a big smile on her face and said “It’s okay Zen you can stay... I heard the mention of food” as she got up and walked over to him followed by Zari and Stacy.

He looked a bit confused and then grabbed a tissue and wiped the tears off of Xoilas face and said “Yup and I brought coffee, milk, and sugar since I don’t know how you guys like it.” he said then gave her face a gentle squeeze before moving to sit at the table.

“Thanks, Zen that was very nice of you,” said Zari as she moved to sit down at the coffee table that could seat about 5 people. Stacy moved to sit down and moved over so Xoila could sit next to her they sat down and looked at the table.

•XOILA•

There were 4 bowls of fruit 4, plates with sausage and egg breakfast sandwiches with a side of hashbrowns, 4 heat resistant cups half full of what smelled like Dark roasted coffee, and spoons and forks for each of us.

We all turned to smile at Zen. He sheepishly began to rub his nape and his cheeks heated up turning bright pink and said “ I wanted to make sure we all started our day out right now that we have the chance too” I giggled and then Stacy said “You mate sure is one lucky person” his face got even redder and then he said “I sure hope he thinks so too”

I felt myself smile and said “I'm sure he will and I think he’s closer to us than we think” as I put 3 spoonfuls of sugar in my coffee followed by milk almost getting to the brim of the cup but not enough so that it would overflow. “What do you mean Xo?” said Stacy who was taking a bite out of the Strawberry

“I dunno I just have a feeling is all” then Zari goes “Wait so Zen’s mate is a He for sure right?” she said, sounding strangely excited.

I look up from my coffee and see her eyes sparkling in excitement then I get the strangest feeling and I smirk “Who knows maybe we’ll all find happiness in this new chapter in life” as I sipped my coffee. Then I moved to start eating my breakfast sandwich and hash brown while taking a bite I heard a happy hum come from Stacy as she ate her food.

Stopped her little happy dance and then as she was finishing off the last of her fruit bowl moving on to her hashbrown said “Well I hope this happiness means finding our mates I feel like we have been through enough to not have a chance at happiness” as she triumphantly took a bite.

I laughed as I started on my fruit seeing as I had already finished my yummy breakfast sandwich “Relax Stace we’re just 16 we have time” and before Stacy could argue Oris walked in.

“Okay you Umpalumpas and Zen were about to land so make sure you guys take your seats and buckle in don’t want anyone falling over,” he said as he walked up and ruffled my hair. I pushed his hand away as I finished off my food and said “Okay and we are not Umpalumpas your just freaking tall you big ass b***h”

He stifled a laugh and then looked at me as he faked his feelings being hurt and said: “Xoila watch your freaking mouth” and after staring at each other in the eyes we burst out laughing and I rubbed my eyes smiling

“I hate you Savage” he laughed a little harder than said “You love me” as he picked at Zaris Fruit who smacked him on his hand with a stern “Hey” he laughed and ruffled her hair then Xi walked in “We’re about to land… everyone take your seats and strap in”

“We got it. Stop being such a nag” said Oris as he walked over and gave Xi a pat on the shoulder and a gentle pinch on the cheek. Xi’s face remained unbothered but his eyes were filled with annoyance as he said “Just sit down and strap in you guys” then moved to take a seat near Oris making sure he had put on his seatbelt before putting his on as well.

We all got up and I put the remainder of the milk in the fridge. Zen Zari and Stacy all moved to throw away the disposable stuff in the trash. After making sure the table was clean and everything that could spill or break we just moved to the nearest seats and strapped in.

The seatbelts on symbol lit up and then we felt as the Jet moved for its descent. It was rocky and I felt like my ears popped and then felt as the Jet slowed down and when it stopped, I felt a strange sense of peace. We all moved to look out the window when the symbol for seatbelts on turned off.

•STACY•

I looked at the time it was 6:22 AM and we were finally in Mendocino. I looked over at my friends who seemed excited to get off the plane. I mean even though none of us got as much sleep as we had hoped we would have, I'm glad we were finally here and away from that horrible place. Zen went to the seating area where all of our stuff was packed in the overhead compartments opening up 2 of them and then pulling our bags out then placing them down.

He closed them up and then picked up all the bags like nothing and brought them over he tossed me mine which (thank god for werewolf reflexes) I caught. He did the same to Zari and she kinda had to hop up so it wouldn't go over her head but caught it landing gracefully. He was about to toss Xoilas at her but he stopped and began to walk over to her. 

I looked at her and she was staring out the window with a faraway look on her face that was resting under her hand for support, he placed the bag next to her, and as she snapped out of it she looked over at Zen and gave him a kind smile. Which he returned and said "We should probably change into warmer clothes it's about 54° degrees outside" 

She just slightly nodded and then Zen said "I'm gonna go to the other part of the Cabin so you girls can change comfortably" then Oris and Xi walked over and announced, "We'll wait for you all outside" they were both already wearing warmer looking clothes. We gave them slight nods and heard Zen close the other cabin door at the same time Oris and Xi closed the other door.

I opened up my bag and started to take out some jeans, a pair of fuzzy socks, my 5 seconds of summer T-shirt, a warm army green coat that had a fuzzy tawny brown fur around the hood, and my Nike boots. I zipped up my bag and began to take off the clothes I had slept in.

As I began to put on the clothes I pulled out I saw that Zari had put on a black long sleeve and a black zip-up G-Eazy sweater, some high-waisted light-washed jeans, and her black and white Converse.

When we were both done we saw that Xoila had already finished getting dressed. She had put on a black short-sleeved G-Eazy T-shirt that said California made, some ripped jeans, and her black and white high top Vans.

She proceeded to put back on her Dr. Strange hoodie and then Looked at us and said: "You guys ready?"  we both nodded and then her eyes glazed over and then Zen walked in. He was wearing a black Deadpool Hoodie that had Deadpool on it riding a Unicorn, some black jeans, all black Jordans, and a black beanie.

Xoila smiled and then said, "Now let's go, guys, Oris is giving me a headache" she laughed looking a little irritated. I smiled and then Mai said

'We're gonna be alright Stacy'

'I know Mai as long as we're all together'

'Very true'

Zen and Zari had already walked out and Xo was standing by the door, holding her hand out for me, I smiled and took her hand and thought 

We're gonna be alright
