Rose's POV:
The next morning, Aaron and Jeremy meet me at the car to go to Queen Josslynn's home in Germany. We have different kingdoms all over the world and once a year, all of the vampire Kings and Queens along with their successors meet, usually in the kingdom that a successor is being crowned King or Queen. This however is no such occasion. It will be a long heartfelt conversation between myself and Josslynn about her daughter's crime against my mother.
"Are you ready to go, gentlemen?" I ask the guys as we get in the car.
"Of course your Majesty," Jeremy says.
"Please no making out in my aunt's car. She'd be pretty mad," I say.
We drive in silence the entire car ride and arrive to Queen Josslynn's in a matter of hours instead of days. As vampires it's only natural that we drive almost as fast as we run. We pull up to the gate of her home, it's not nearly as big as mine nor as beautiful as my aunt's, but it's still beautiful in its own way.
The Queen herself met us at the front door.
"Princess Rose, what a pleasant surprise!" she says excitedly.
"I wish it were under different terms, Queen Josslynn," I say.
"What's wrong dear?" she asks
"Well, my mother was attacked yesterday,"I tell her.
"What? How?!?!" she asks.
"A rogue attack," I say calmly.
She leads us into her home and to her private study on the second floor so we could talk about what had happened.
"Alright Rose, spill," she tells me. "You must know who sent her, otherwise you wouldn't be here."
"You're right, Josslynn," I say. "I don't mean to be blunt, but the rogue said your daughter sent her to kill my mother. Why would Azalea want my mother dead almost a century later?"
"She still believes that your father should be married to her. She rejected her mate a few days before hand just to be with your dad. She doesn't think your mother is fit to be queen. She doesn't come from royal blood like your father, Azalea and myself. You aren't even fit to be queen since you're a half-breed," she says.
"Excuse me? I am not a 'half-breed'. Both of my parents are vampires. Just because I have commoner's blood running through my veins does not make me any less fit to be queen. It's not about what group of society you were born in, it's about whether or not your heart is big enough to be a queen. I didn't come here to talk about my heritage. I came to warn you," I tell her getting mad.
"Warn me about what child?" she asks.
"That if you don't put a stop to your daughter then I'll be forced to take matters to the Council. And trust me, Queen Josslynn, they are not someone you want to get involved. If they find her guilty, your whole family will be stripped of your title and be forced to live in a run-down shack in Antarctica," I say to her.
"And what if that's what I want?" she asks with malice in her voice.
"Then I guess I will be taking this to the council as soon as I leave here. And they will find her guilty. My father records every interrogation for this very purpose," I tell her as I get up to leave.
"Come, boys, we have to get home," I tell Aaron and Jeremy.
