Chapter 13

Chris pov

Around six I finished the shooting of my last movie. Finally, I can relax and spend time with my baby Lily. The last few days I was a little distant, is her birthday tonight and I am preparing a special party, and is something more than a surprise birthday party. Tonight I’m going to propose to her. An hour later I enter my house and I walk inside.

“What the hell are you? I call you all day” Linda says angrily

“I had the last scene for the film and my phone was silent,” I say I look at my phone and I have more than thirty missing calls from Linda and Lily’s friends.

“What’s going on?” I ask

“Lily left the house”

“She has a birthday. Maybe she is with the girls”

“You don’t understand Chris. She left. With a suitcase” I frown

“She said some things about you having the other woman and she left”

“What? That's ridiculous,” I say and I run to the bedroom. Most of her stuff missing and then I saw a note on the bed. I open it

“I’m leaving and like that is easier for you. You don’t have to choose. I hope you are happy with Melissa. At least I was waiting for you to be open to me and tell me that I’m not enough for you anymore and not lying to me. Bye Chris”

Shit, how does she know about Melissa? f**k f**k f**k, Melissa is the planner for the party. I take my phone and I call Lily. She doesn’t answer. s**t s**t shit

I walked to my car and I went to the magazine. There Ava says that she called in the morning and said that she was sick and would not come

“I called her many times but she didn’t answer. And we called you to tell us about the party.”

“The party is still on. I will go check her old apartment. I will explain and we will come together” I say and I run to the car. I say to Leo to drive to Lily’s apartment.

I knocked on the doorbell and the door but nothing happened

“Lily please if you are inside open the door. Let me explain and you will see that is a reason for all this” I yell and I hope she listens and opens the door.

A few seconds later nothing

“Baby please there is an explanation. Please” I take a deep breath and then I hear the lock. Thank God. She opens the door and I see her, she is pale and I see that she has been crying. What I have done? Why do I have to do a surprise?

“Baby”

“Don’t call me that” she says with an angry face

“Ok. But let me explain” I say and she opens the door more and I enter. I walk to the living room and I wait for her to come. She stays a little further from me with crossed arms. I take a deep breath

“I’m sorry that I was distant but there was a reason,” I say and she looks at me

“A month ago I decided to plan a surprise party for your birthday,” I say and her eyes soften

“The last few days I organized the party with Melissa she is a planner. After the shooting, I go straight to the club where the party will take place and I help Melissa with the decorations and the details. I wanted to be part of the progress” She smiles

“What?” I got closer and I cup her face

“Is not your fault. I neglected you and after the text, you read today it was normal to think that I’m cheating on you” I kiss her

“I’m not. I was trying to make the perfect surprise party for you”

“And I ruin it”

“You didn’t. We have time. I have your dress in the car. I will call Leo to bring it. And then we will get ready for the party” I say and she smiles.

“I’m sorry that I make cry on your birthday”

“I'm happy that you love me and take care of me”

“Always,” I say and we walk to the bathroom

We take a shower together and an after and a quickie with getting dressed. I picked Lily and a royal blue sort fitted dress with high heels.

We arrived at the club around eleven and all our friends were there. I invited my parents and also Lily’s family. They were so happy to see her and of course, all at the party knew that I would propose to Lily.

After about one hour we cut the cake and I take Lily to the center of the dance floor.

The song I choose for that moment starts playing

“Yes, Chris. Thousands of times yes” she says and when I put the ring on her finger I kiss her long and deep. The song continues playing
