After dropping Philippa off to keep Susan company, Kade accompanied Jace to mess for the briefing. As they walked in silence, Kade’s mind wondered. He kept thinking about what had happened to Susan and what would have happened if they hadn’t got to her in time.
Glancing over at his brother, he noticed that Jace’s face was blank and devoid of all emotion. Surely, he should be showing anger or some other emotion after what happened. If it had been Philippa, Kade would have been raging and calling for Abel’s blood, but Jace just walked along calmly.
