Chapter 1

***Luca’s POV***

“What the f*ck did you do to her!” Jack snarls in my face as he grabs a hold of my throat and lifts me up against the dungeon wall. I tried to remove his hand but I was losing to much air, I couldn’t breathe.

“Alpha please, I can’t breathe.” I begged him, trying to gasp for air. Jack snarled and let me go making me fall heavily to the ground. I took in a deep breath and started coughing.

“What the f*ck did you do to her, there is blood all over her head? I asked you to put her in the cell and to not touch her.” He growled down at me.

“I didn’t mean to do it. She was struggling the hold way here and tried to get out of my hold, I let her go for a second to unlock the cell door and she tried to escape. William stopped her from escaping, all I did was grab a hold of her and pushed her into her cell, she trip over her feet, I didn’t mean to push her that hard, but she was trying to get away. when she tripped she banged her head on the ground and passed out, I checked her over and she was fine. The little b***h shouldn’t have tried to get away from me.” I growled back at Jack and looked up at him. I could see Otis trying to come through and I just rolled my eyes at him.

“Alpha, you need to calm the f*ck down before Otis kills everyone.” I sighed and stood up. Jack looked away from me and took a deep breath.

“Did you see if her wolf had come though or not?”

“No. There was no sign of her wolf, she is too young. What makes you think she will get her wolf this early?”

“It is said that he wolf will come forward earlier if something tragic happens to her, there is a book about her powers but it has been lost for centuries and I have been told the book will appear once she comes into her powers, I hoped that killing her family would trigger her shift, but no such luck. We need to try something else.”

“Alpha what is she? Wait what more can she go though to make her wolf come earlier?”

“She is very powerful, but until she gets her wolf she is useless to me. I will make her a slave, hopefully we can beat her wolf out of her.” We heard a groan coming from the cell, we stopped talking and looked into the cell. Ivy was slowly starting to wake up.

“Go and clean up that mess before any of the Pack members see. I got a call from the council they are sending Alpha Mark to come and investigate what happened here.”

“Why are they getting the Alpha of Moon Star Pack to investigate what happened?” I asked shocked that the council was sending someone from another Pack to investigate the attack.

“I’m not sure how they found out, but they are getting Alpha Mark to come because he is the closes Pack to us. Make sure it looks like only Ivy was the one to attack her family. Make sure you remove mine and Johns prints.” Jack sighed and rubbed his forehead.

“How did the council fine out about this?” I asked a little worried.

“I’m not sure but I am pissed about it. We need to find out if we have a trader in our pack.” He said as he grabbed hold of a chair and placed it in front of Ivy’s cell with a bang making her jump.

“Yes Alpha.” I bowed my head, I turned around and walked out of the dungeons. As I walked out the door, Gamma John was waiting for me, I rolled my eyes at him and growled.

“How the f*ck did the council find out about this.” I said looking at him. He lowered his head.

“I’m not sure, I was keeping watch and there was no other wolfs around when Alpha Jack attacked the mother, but then the boy got involved and I had to jumped in to help the Alpha.” I signed and shook my head at him.

“Only Lilly was supposed to die, why did you kill the boy?”

“He wasn’t supposed to come out of the dam safehouse, he was supposed to stay with Ivy. I didn’t mean to kill him, I forgot that he was only a boy and that he didn’t know how to fight. I just lost control.” I shook my head and growled at him.

“Come on we have to get this mess sorted before Alpha Mark comes.” We began walking back towards the scene when I hear a giggle and someone running towards us from behind.

“Beta Luca, Beta Luca wait for me!” I froze and turn around. F*ck me I forgot about her. I turn to John and saw that he was smiling at me, roll my eyes at him and hit him over the head.

“You go on and start without me, I’ll catch up. Make sure it looks like only one set of paw prints are there, the Alpha wants Ivy to be blamed for this.” John huffs and walks away rubbing the back of his head where I smacked him. I crouch down and Britney runs into my arms. I stand up and spine her around, I love this little munchkin like she was my own daughter.

“Hi my little flower, what are you doing out of the Packhouse? Where is your mother?” I ask her rubbing my nose against hers.

“Mum is talking to the kitchen staff and told me to go to my room, but I wanted you to read me a story, but I couldn’t find you so I came out to look for you.” She smiled up at me.

“Sorry my little flower, I have a job to do for your dad, but after I have finished, I will come and get you and we can read a story together okey.”

“You pinky promise.” Britney says holding out her little pinky finger.” I chuckle at her and wrap my pinky around hers.

“I promise, now I want you to go back to the Packhouse and stay in your room until I came and find you okey my little flower?”

“Okey Beta Luce.” She says and wriggles out of my arms and runs back to the Packhouse. Brittney was like a daughter to me and I hated the way her father treated her and her mother. I made it my job to protect her from Jack but I couldn’t do much to help Anna. Once Britney was out of sight I headed to the gruesome scene that awaited me. When I first walked onto the scene and I saw Ivy kneeling in front of her mother I hadn’t realized how bad the attack was, but now I saw the full extent of it, Lilly was lying on her back covered in blood, her throat had been ripped out and she had crawl marks all over her body, but what made me a little uneasy was that there was a small smile on her face like she was expecting this to happen, there was also dried tear stains down her checks. I looked away not wanting to see anymore. As I turned my head away I saw Max lying by the back door, I sighed and walked over to him, as I got closer my heart broke, they weren’t meant to kill him just knock him out and take him to the dungeon with Ivy. He was only 19. I looked over him and saw that his chest and neck had been ripped to shreds, I tried to keep the bile in my mouth and the shock off my face at how they had killed him. My thoughts were interrupted by John.

“Beta, we have cleaned all the paw prints and made small ones so it looks like Ivy was the only one here. We have also moved Max closer to the safehouse door so it looks like she attacked him as he was trying to get to the safehouse.” He said walking over to me. He had done a good job staging the scene.

“Okey everyone should clear off before Alpha Jack and Alpha Mark come, we don’t need him asking question as to why we are all here.” John nods and dismisses all the worriers that helped out and told them to leave. I opened a mind link to Jack. Alpha everything has been set up, John and I will wait here so no one comes wondering in and see the bodies. Thank you Luca, Alpha Mark has just arrived. We are making our way over to you now. He closes the link and I look over at John.

“There on their way.” He nods his head and we walk back over to Lily’s body to wait for the Alphas to show up. There was a small breeze running though the trees, it felt peaceful until everything went completely still, I looked over at John and saw that he looked a bit uneasy. I was going to ask him what was wrong when I hear a stick snap behind us, I went still listening to see if it was an animal but nothing else was heard, I slowly turn around expecting to see an animal, but what I saw made my blood run cold. In a bush just before us was a pair of bight blue diamond eyes staring at us. I looked over to John to make sure I am not imaging this and his face was as white as a ghost. I looked back at the bush and the eyes had disappear.

“What the f*ck was that?” John said with a shaky voice.

“I feel like I have just jumped in an ice-cold bath.”

“I’m not sure.” I say back trying to shake the cold feeling out of my body. I heard harried footsteps coming up behind us, I spin around and got into a defensive poison ready for an attack. Alpha Jack and Alpha Mark stop in there tracks and look at both John and myself. I relax a little and look at Jack. He looked at us like we were idiots.

“What’s going on?” He asked as they got closer to us.

“Sorry Alpha we saw something in the forest and though we were under attack again, Alpha Mark it’s nice to see you.” I said standing up quickly and walking over to shake Alpha Marks hand.

“No worries Beta Luca I completely understand, this looks like a scene out of a horror movie. Alpha Jack has informed me that you have got someone in custody already?”

“Yes, unfortunately we had to give her something to knock her out as she kept trying to escape. I’m afraid that she will be out for quite a while, but I would be happy to write down her statement and send it to you once she comes to.” I saw Alpha Mark raise an eyebrow at me.

“You have someone in custody already?” I nodded my head.

“Okey That would be great, saves me waiting around for her to come to. I just need to take some photos of the scene and get it all off to the council.” Alpha Mark walked over to Lilly and took a photo of her body and around they area where she was killed, he then walked over to Max and did the same, he also took some photos of the safe house and the backyard.

“Right, I think that’s all I need, I will send you a copy of the file once I have made it all up and gotten the statement from the person you have in custody.”

“Thank you Alpha Mark, I will see you back to the Pack house. Did want a coffee before you go?”

“No, I’m good I should really get the file draw up and sent off to the council, they want the file to them by the morning so I will need that statement as soon as possible or they might send someone out to collect it.” I looked over at Jack and saw him flinch a little at what the Alpha Mark had said.

“Of course. As soon as she wakes I will get her statement and email it though to you. Beta Luca can you please get this all cleaned up and we hold a Moon light burial for Lily and Max this evening.”

“Of course, Alpha.” I bowed my head and waited for them the to leave. As they left I got a mind link from Jack. Make sure you check Lily’s office for anything. We need to find the bracelet and ring so we can control Ivy’s powers when she comes into them. Alpha are you sure that it is defiantly Ivy that has the powers? He growled in my head. Do not question me Luca, just find it or it will be your head. Yes Alpha. I will be back once Mark is gone. I will need you to also write up a fake statement and send it off to Alpha Mark before morning. I sighed out loud but agreed. He closed the mind link and I turned to John.

“Make sure this is all cleaned up, I have made a grave in the back of the cemetery where you can put them, no need to inform the Pack to come but let them know that it was Ivy that killed them.”

“Yes Beta.” I watched as John pulled out a body bag and placed Lily into it. He then walked over to Max and dragged him over placing him into the same bag. I didn’t know how he could do that with no emotion showing on his face, it was a little unsettling. He close the bag and throw it over his shoulder, he nodded his head to me and walked to the front of the house, disappearing to the gravy yard. I shock all the emotion I was feel out of my body and headed into the house towards the office.
