Chapter 2

***Luca’s POV***

As I get into Lily’s office I see that someone has already been in here.

This place is a mess, maybe Lily was trying to hide something or look for something in a rush. My wolf Carl says

I don’t think this was Lily. I looks like someone was in her while the attack happened, but who would it be?

Who ever it was, I think they found it because they aren’t here any more and I can’t pick up on there scent. Whatever they found was important to them because this place is a mess. He said and I stood up straighter. I hadn’t resailed that there was not scent.

They must have used masking spray because I can’t pick up on a scent either. I say back to him while looking around the room.

Are we sure that it wasn’t Lily that made this mess, maybe she did this before the attack. Maybe ask John to check her body just in case.

Shit he is about to bury her. I say back in a rush.

I open the mind-link between John and myself. John did Lily have anything on her when you picked her up? No Beta. I can check her again before I start burring them. Check! There is silents through the link while he checks. There is differently nothing on either Lily or Max Beta. Okey thank you John carry on, make sure everything is done before Alpha Jack gets back here. Yes Beta. I close the link and walk over to the book shelve. There are thousands of books here and I had no idea what I was supposed to be looking for. I start looking though them hoping there would be a secret compartment or if something would just jump out at me. Luca I am on my way. Mark has just left. Alpha Jack linked me and I quickly linked John. John is everything sorted the Alpha is on his way. Yes Beta I have just finished filling in the grave. Good you can go back to the Packhouse. I will link you if I need anything. I close the link and here movement behind me. I turn around expecting to see Jack, I freeze on the spot looking into the diamond blue eyes I saw this afternoon. I couldn’t move, couldn’t talk, all I could do was stand there and stare at the woman standing in front of me.

Carl what is happening to us? I ask my wolf. I start to panic. I tried to link John but it was like my Pack link had been taken away.

It’s our moon goddess Luca, she is here to talk to us.

What do you mean that is our Moon Goddess? I waited for Carl to replied but he doesn't say anything.

“Beta Luca my name is Selene, do you know why I am here?” Her eyes turned a darker shade of blue. I tried to talk but my body wouldn’t move.

“I am here because your Alpha has done something unforgiveable, and you were apart of it. I am here to make sure that the bracelet and the ring does not fall into Alpha Jacks hands, the only way he will ever fine it is if he kills his own daughter.” My eyes go wide. Her voice goes deeper like she was casting a spell on me.

“Your punishment for harming my children is banishment. You have 24 hours to leave this Pack and never return to Jacks side or you will never find your mate.” I wanted to protest but I couldn’t move, all I could do was watch as she disappeared. I felt a rush of power wash over me. I felt like I was drowning. Once the feeling left my body, I fell to the floor and gasp for air. Alpha Jack walked in then and stood in front of me. I look up at him and he had a scowl on his face.

“What the f**k are you doing on the floor?” He growled, I quickly thought up something because I had know idea how to explain what just happened.

“I was seeing if here was a secret panel or compartment in the floors, but I haven’t found anything yet.” I say in a stained voice. My body felt so heavy and I couldn't feel my wolf.

“Right well I doubt Lily would hide anything in the floor.” He walks over to the book shelve and I stand up and wipe my brow.

“Alpha, what exactly are we looking for?” He growls in my direction.

“Sorry the only reason I ask is so I can help or know what I am supposed to be looking for.” He rolls his eyes and looks over at me.

“We are looking for a bracelet and a ring, they said that the bracelet is made of dark green coral shell with white purls around it, the ring is a purple amethyst with a white band. We need to find it in order to take control of Ivy and we need to find it before she gets her wolf.

“Who told you this and how do they know what to look for without the book?” I ask. Jack stopped moving the books around and turned to face me.

“That is non of you business Beta.” He growled and I looked down at the floor.

“My apologies Alpha, but I have looked all over this office twice and I haven’t found anything like that, are you sure Lily keep it in here? She may have hidden it or given it to someone that could be trusted. Maybe they are back in her pervious Pack.” Jack snarls and walks over to me. I step back and try to get my breathing under control.

“You are not helping. Leave I will look around you have done enough.” He snarls in my face.

“Yes Alpha.” I nod and walk out of the office and through the front door, I slowly start to head back towards the Packhouse trying to connect with my wolf.

Carl are you there? Please answer me? I asked, desperate to hear my wolf's voice. I haven't felt him since the Moon Goddess did something to us.

I’m here Luca. He said back in a weak voice.

What the f**k just happened? Are you okey? Why can’t I feel you?

Luca calm down. The Moon Goddess wasn’t happy with us. She has put a spell on both of us.

What do you mean by a spell? I asked confused.

She has blocked us from finding our mate. You won’t be able to feel me or shift until we brake our Pack link and leave. We have to do what she says Luca otherwise we won’t be able to find our mate. He whimpers in the back of my head. I can feel him slowly slipping away.

Carl wait, what about Brittney, who will protect her? There is no reply and I start to panic even more. I know what I have to do, but I knew it was going to be hard.

As soon as I walk through the front doors of the Packhouse I hear an excited squeal, I chuckle to myself and turn around just as Brittany jumps into the air and I catch her in my arms. I’m going to miss this.

“How’s my little flower doing?”

“Good. Is it story time?” She smiles up at me with her big sparkly eyes.

“Yup, why don’t we got and pick something in the library?”

“No, I have already got a book it’s in my room.” She wriggles out of my arms and runs up the stairs to her room, I follow after her. This will be the last time I ever read her a story. When I got to her room, I saw Brittany grab a book off her desk, once she has it in her hands she runs and jumps onto her bed. She pats the spot next to her and holds the book out to me.

“What’s this?” I ask her looking at the small book with interest.

“Lily gave it to me. Mum brought me over to play with Ivy last week and she gave me this book to look after, I not sure why we went over, I’ve never really talked to Ivy.” She hands me the book and I look at the title. My eyes widen as I read the front cover. The history of The White Wolf.

“Brittany, did Lily tell you to keep this book or give it to someone.” I asked shocked that Brittany had the book that Jack was talking about.

“She said I had to keep it safe for Ivy and to give it to her when she comes and stays at the Packhouse. Why is Ivy coming here? Doesn’t she want to live with her mummy anymore?”

“No little flower something happened to her family and now Ivy has to live here with us, we have to protect her okey. Can you do that for me? Brittany nods her head and cuddles into me.

“Maybe we should read something else and keep this for when Ivy is ready to read it.” Brittany looks like she is about to protest but stops and thinks for a moment.

“Okey.” She smiles up at me.

“Would it be okey if I read this so that if you or Ivy has any question I can answer them?”

“Ummm I don’t know, Lily said I had to keep it with me until Ivy comes here.”

“It’s ok I will give it back to you, I just want to read a little bit.”

“Okey, I guess, but make sure Daddy doesn’t find it, Lily didn’t want him to know that I have it.”

“Okey, I promise. Let’s read another book. Why don’t we continue reading Harry Potter?”

“Yeah.” I chuckle at her and grab the book that's on her side table and start reading. An hour later I stop reading and look over at Brittney. She had fallen asleep. I smile down at her and kiss her on her forehead, I slowly got up off the bed and walked to my room. I laid on my bed and started to read The book that Brittany gave me, I needed to understand why Jack was so obese with Ivy. After I had finished reading the book, I looked out the window and saw that the sun was starting to rise. I had read all night and now I had to leave, I quickly wrote a letter to Brittney, I knew she would be sad that I had left but it was for the best. I knew that she would take my letter seriously and I promised to see her again some day. I slipped the letter in the front of the book and snuck back into Brittany’s room, I hid the book under her pillow. I watched her sleep for a while my heart breaking into tiny pieces, I bent down and kiss her softly on her check then whispered softly in her ear not wanting to wake her up.

“Keep safe my little flower. We will see each other again I promise.” I quietly left her room and back into mine. I pack a bag and headed towards the boarder. Just before I step through the boarder line, I turn to look back at my Pack. I felt my eyes start to tear up but I knew I had to do this.

“I, Luca Thomas, do hereby renounce my allegiance to Sky Moon Pack.” A sharp pain erupted across my temples and I double over. I heard a roar come from somewhere in Pack house and I knew then that Jack had felt the link snap from me. I stood up straighter and took one last look at the Pack lands before I turned and left.

“I love you my little flower.”
