A Broken Luna

I'm running through the darkness, no destination, no light to guide me. Just running, running from the entity that keeps trying to drag my essence into the darkness. "Someone please help me!" I scream, but it's only me here trapped here. 'Roxanne, wake up.' I can hear the faint voice, but my heart is racing so fast it drowns them out. I can't stop now, I need to keep running, need to keep moving. I cannot let it get me because once it touches me, touches my soul I will never be able to wake up again. 'Darling you're such a tease, just open your eyes for me baby' The voices were still too low for me to hear, the loud screech of the entity getting close to me drowning the voice that could possible be my savior. It's too late, it's too close. I'm not going to make it so why should I keep running from it? I stopped running, my chest rising and falling hard as I try to catch my breath. I can't keep fighting the inevitable so I must accept that this is my destiny, to be tainted by the darkness. The screech of the darkness is so close I can hear the rumble of it's movement. Taking one last breath, I slowly turn around and faced the tormentor that has been chasing me and brace for what's to come. Then silence. 'ROXANNE WAKE UP!' My eyes snap open and I quickly sit up. My heart racing so fast, I was having a hard time catching my breathe. 'Roxanne you need to breathe steadily, we don't want you to die of a heart attack.' One of the good voices in my head—Lucy—says to me. 'Oh, I'm down with a little asphyxiation play." Another good voice—Rose—says will purring. 'Rose shut up before you kill us both!' Lucy yells at Rose 'Girls, I'm fine. And besides with you two going at it, your going to give me a headache.' I tell both them of them, then they become quiet. It's March and for the past three months, every morning has been like this. Having a dream that feels too real and waking up in this state of panic and not know what it was about. The only thing I do remember is running, but running to where? I swear, if it were not for Rose and Lucy, I probably would have died from a heart attack by now. Oh, how silly of me, I did not tell you who Rose and Lucy is. These are the voices that I hear in my head. Since I turned 5 these lovely ladies have started to make their presence known and honestly at first I thought it was pretty cool to have them but now I wish they had an off button, especially for Rose. They are always narrating my life, saying things that other would find disturbing, again mostly rose, and always arguing at each other. The first voice to appear was Lucy. I never told my family about Lucy because apparently you're not supposed to get your wolf until your sixteen, but Lucy was very pleasant. When she came, she was warm and welcoming and taught me the ways to be a proper lady as I am the alpha's daughter. She also helped me to use my brains in situations that doesn't require strength. She was a great to talk to but was a stick in the mud when it came to certain things. When I did turn sixteen, Rose came into my life. She was a completely different story from Lucy. Have you ever watched those movies where you wake up to a peaceful morning but then bam, a storm came and just destroyed your house without any warning? That's basically how Rose showed up. It wasn't all that bad with Rose. She helped me find my s****l side of myself, things that Lucy tried to keep me away from. The way to flirt with a man and have him do my every biding without it leading to s*x. She even taught me how to please myself so that way I won't have to succumb to the heat that likes to make everyone a hornball. Aside from the s****l pleasures, she also taught me how to better my fighting skills, using my surroundings and finding my opponents weakness. I'd like to think of them as yin and yang. The light and darkness that is in constant battle in my head. I look around in my room, and smile. While those two may go at it almost all the time, they are my light. The two voices that guide me when I'm stuck in my dark moments. There was banging on the door that scared the s**t out of me. "Roxy, wake up! Mom said she's going to let me eat your breakfast if you're not down in 20 minutes." My big brother Daniel says behind the closed door. That's all it took for me to rush out the bed using my speed to get all of my clothes out, brush my teeth while in the shower, fix my hair and throw on some clothes. After I was all done, I looked at the clock and smiled knowing I had 5 minutes to spare. When I faced the mirror one more time to evaluate myself, I couldn't help that everyday there was always some kind of change to me since the unknown dream started. The beginning of January I didn't have a figure that guys would really fawn over, but now I have curves for days that any women would kill for. February, I grew from being 5'5 to now 5'10, and my skin has become flawless which is strange because I'm a skilled warrior, so I'm constantly scarred and bruised up. My red hair which has gotten brighter also grew past my wait and was now wavy. Out of all of those changes, what strikes me the most is my eyes. Before this month, I noticed that my dark brown eyes had now turned honey. 'Darling, if it weren't for the fact that I'm stuck in your head, I would have taken your virginity by now and f**k you senseless every night.' Rose says to me. 'Rose, you're a woman' Lucy says with disgust. 'So what?' Rose says. Just before Lucy responded I hear Daniel from downstairs. "10...9...8...7...6..." he says. "HURYY" Both Lucy and Roxy say loudly, and I make a dash for it. If those two can agree on one thing is that we don't play when it comes to food. "IF YOU TOUCH MY FOOD, I WILL BEAT THE s**t OUT OF YOU DANIEL!" I yell while running with all my might, skipping some of the steps. The second I make it to the kitchen I hear a loud POP. "Surprise! Happy Birthday!!" Mom, Daniel and my 7-year-old little brother Brandon shouts. "Damn it guys, you know I hate surprises. I said holding my chest and trying to catch my breath. My brother Daniel came up to me and gave me the biggest bear hug. "Look at my sister, 18 and all grown up." He starts to sniffle and wipe a tear that isn't even there. "Don't look at me, this is too much. I'm going to cry." "Danny, stop tormenting your sister." Lucinda—my mother—says to Daniel while smacking his head. She then smiles at me, embracing me in a hug just as strong as Daniel and says, "Happy Birthday baby." She says while I hug her back. Brandon came up to me and give a peck on the cheek and says, 'Happy Birthday big sis' then runs back to mom. "Where's dad?" I ask looking around. "He's at the training grounds again. trying to break in those newbies." She says. Lucas, the Alpha of the Red Moon pack, is my father and he is always busy running things. He's always making sure our pack is secured and things are running smoothly. "You know with handling the newbies and internal work your father is always busy, but he wishes that he could be here with you sweetie. '"That's fine, I'll probably see him there, mom. Thanks Mom, Daniel and Brandon, so much, I really appreciate this." I say while sitting down at the table to eat my big birthday breakfast. "Oh, before I forget. Roxy, try not to make plans this Saturday. We have been invited to a ball." My mother says. "What's the ball for?" Daniel asked. "Well, from what the letter says it's just to strengthen the alliance with the other packs." She starts, "It's going to be on our territory, that is also why your father is busy this month, but according to the other Lunas it for Supreme Alpha to find his mate." She says and smiles at me. "Mom..." I start to say, but she cuts me off. "I know you don't want to rush it Roxy, but you're 18 today! That mean you should get ready to start making me some pups." She beams at me, then looks at Daniel "Both of you." Daniel and I look at each other and starts to laugh while shaking our head, my mom has always been like this. Always talking about how she can't wait for us to start making a family of our own so she can spoil her grandbabies. At first it was kind of cute but now it's kind of annoying. Daniel wants to focus on getting ready to become the next Alpha of this pack. He spends so much time training and running around with Dad he doesn't really think much about looking for girl. Which is weird because girls is always fawning over him. I mean my brothers handsome. He has blonde straight short hair which he got from my mom, fair skinned 6,5 tall with bulging muscles that screams through his tight shirts. My brother is a cutie. Me on the other hand I have no interest in finding a mate right now. With these voices in my head, I'm already in a relationship. Plus, my main focus is to become a strong skillful warrior that doesn't need to rely on a man. I heard a honking outside the house. That must be my best friend Jessica outside waiting for me.  "Listen I would love to stay, but I have training today mom." I said while kissing her cheeks. "Go! Enjoy your day birthday girl. Your father deposited money into your account so pick up a nice dress for Saturday." She says and then adds "Oh wait, your father also told me to tell you guys, that some of the Alphas is on territory so watch out for them and be nice. He'll probably tell you there but if he's busy there's the message." I told her alright and walked outside to my best friend in the whole wide world, Jessica, who has this stupid ass grin on her face. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY b***h!" she yells in my ears the second I get into her car. "Gosh are you trying to destroy me eardrums Jess?" I said and she laughed. "I'm sorry girl it's your birthday and you know we about to have an awesome day. We are skipping school today right?" I looked at her as if she should have known the answer already. Smiling she starts the car and drive off. The good thing about being the Alpha's daughter is that I can skip school whenever I want to train with my father. "This Saturday me and you are going to a ball together, so dress sexy for me." I said to her, giving her a wink. "Well damn, anything for you babe. But what's the ball for?" "Well according to mom, it's basically to help supreme Alpha Alexander find a Luna." I said while shrugging my shoulders. "Have you met him before?" "I don't know, I probably did when I visited some of the packs with dad last summer. I don't care too much about people to really know them or know what they look like. "Oooh, do you think it could be me?" She says, wiggling her eyebrows. "You would cheat on me?" I start to fake cry. "Oh stop it babe. If anything, it would be you. Have you seen how sexy you've gotten? If it weren't for the fact that I love men, you'd be mines already." She says causing me to roll my eyes. I swear Jess says she like men, but she lowkey loves me. She's like the most open closeted person I've ever met. 'We should do her one-day Roxy.' Rose says to me in a whisper 'No, that's my best friend.' I say to her in thoughts. 'So, that's how it all starts. First your friends, then you kiss a little in an experiment. Next thing you know you and her will bang it out. She hasn't turned 18 and her wolf isn't present so maybe you don't know. Her birthday is in a couple days? Or was it weeks?" 'Rose shut up.' Lucy says to Roxy. I had to shake my head a little. "You okay over there love?" Jess says to me. I just nod and look out the window. I've always enjoyed the scenery of my father's pack. Our pack, although is not the biggest, is fairly big to a human. On the outskirts of our land, it's mostly untouched land. That way it's easier for us to do patrols without worrying about running into a human that may reside here. As you get deeper into our pack, there's also the suburban area and the urban area. The suburban area is where all the schools and other wolves/humans live, and the urban area is where people go to work and basically hang out. The area that me and Jess live in the woodland area with our families, consisting of mostly trees and the bright clear skies that seems to keep my mind clear. It's a gated area so only certain people are allowed to come in. The rest of the way to the training grounds Jess is talking about the ball. Telling me how excited she is to go with me and thinking about what stores we should hit later. While she's talking to me, I couldn't help about thinking about what Rose was saying about Jess. Maybe I should just do an experiment with her. Would she go along with the idea or would she turn away. The mere thought of her being under me, hearing her scream my name and the sweat pouring down her face was turning me on. My core begins to throb, and I had to find something else to think about.  'Told you babe, you're into that too huh?' Roxy says. I had to find a way to clear my mind again. I can't think of Jess that way. She has been my best friend since we were pups, there's no way I should be thinking about doing her. "Roxy did you hear me?" she says "I'm sorry what?" "We should totally match." She says as she pulls up on the grass. "Let's talk about it later, right now we must train." In a fake serious voice that she laughed at. Getting out the car, I breathed in the sweat air. Nothing but sweat blood and tears around here, just the way I like it. "Wow there's a lot more people here today." Jess says while pulling off her shirt and short. I had to stop myself from staring at Jess because if you want to be honest, she got a hot body too. She's right about that. On any other day, there were like 10 -15 people here but now it's doubled.  'Yay more ass to kick, I'm getting turned on from this Roxy.' Rose says. My legs core begins to throb, and my n*****s begin to harden. I don't know why but fighting men has always been such a turn on for me. Seeing them fall before me, screaming in pain leads me to a full-on mega o****m. Maybe I have been listening to Rose a little too much. "Let's go play with them a little." I said to Jess and walk into the field.
