WE HAD HEARD FROM ONE lifeguard that Gloria had abandoned her usual spot on the Boardwalk and was painting at the park in the center of town, so that's where we headed next.
Once we reached the park, we wandered the pathways until we sighted Gloria in the distance, and then the show was on again. Holding hands, we made our way leisurely towards her. Once we reached her side, we watched Gloria paint for a few moments before I broke the silence.
"This is beautiful Gloria. I've never seen you paint anything other than seascapes. Have you ever done any painting out at The Groves?" Nervousness had my two questions coming fast and without thought. I didn’t give her the opportunity to answer me, instead I kept talking.
