Winter finished. He’d said it just the way April told him to, but I didn’t feel any different. Max? Did it work? I asked, though I was dreading what he might say.
I don’t think so. I don’t feel any different. Do you? He asked and I internally sighed before answering him. No. I don’t feel any difference whatsoever. D*mn it!
“Hmmm, didn’t work did it?” April asked thoughtfully, just in time to save me from mentally melting down. “No. I don’t feel any different than I did five minutes ago.” She was looking up at me now, her beautiful blue eyes filled with deep thoughts.
“I know this is going to sound crazy but a minute ago you mentioned something about an ‘old-fashioned title ceremony’, Dad? Can you explain that to me, please?”
