(Alex’s POV)
I was sitting with my Mom when April said, “I’m gonna go check on the kids, babe. I’ll be right back. Link me if they come out, okay?”
She kissed my cheek as she spoke and I just nodded in answer to her request. We’ve both been worried about the kids though the guards are saying they’re quiet. Rebecca and Colleen have been their nannies for years now so we trust them fully but we’re also worried about them, too. After all, what happened earlier has to have affected them too.
It wasn’t long after she left that I heard whispering outside in the hall and got up to go see who it was. Though as I stepped out I frowned. It was April. She was talking with Cassy and they seemed deep into their conversation. When Cassy saw me she stopped speaking and April turned to see why.
