Everything was forgotten as I merged my lips with Lia's sealing the kiss as I continuously dragged my hands behind her, wanting to keep this moment pure while I wanted to ravage her at the same time.
"Take me" she whispered into my lips, into a kiss. Her voice took on this sensual edge as she began to moan the more I kissed her.
Her sounds were exciting my wolf, I needed more. So much more. A knock sounded from behind the door as we were at the moment, in a very compromising situation. She was seated on the table, legs spread apart as I was between them, fondling her back.
The sound that came from the door, startled us both as we jumped away from each other like teenagers in heat.
"Who is it!" I thundered, mainly because I had been interrupted and I was about to go to the second level.
" Sire, we need your signature on some things" I heard Matthew shout for extra emphasis. Somehow I felt that he just needed me out of the office. I thought about telling him to leave, ordering him to go and pick flowers from all the walls of the palace but I knew even though I was alpha, there were still some things that I couldn't control.
I sighed into Lia's lips as her lips stretched into a smile on instinct her honey-brown eyes brightened even more as I began to fix myself before I knew I was ready to fix whatever problem Matthew needed me to fix.
I unlatched the doors and opened them considerably, while I walked out of the office.
"Yes?" I asked, irritation making a move faster than my voice left my throat. Matthew maintained a nonchalance I had never seen and with an equal amount of nonchalance, he took the file and casually opened it.
"The party for tomorrow needs a lot of signatures, they need your observation as well." he said, holding the file out front for my eyes to glance at each other and every one of the demands that had been written in the file.
I looked at the file with mild irritation, already knowing that Matthew didn't need me physically or my signature for that matter. He just needed an excuse to be utterly irritating.
The door suddenly opened, thank Goddess that I wasn't resting my back on it. The force at which the door opened was still not enough to create a flinch or a reaction out of Matthew. Was he still upset about that girl?
Pathetic.
"Are you leaving?" I asked her, knowing well the way Matthew kept on looking at me with a certified nonchalance written out on his face that I was probably asking an obvious question.
" Yeah, I haven't seen my apartment or my parents in a long time. I've said hi to you longer than I should have— we both vast a knowing look at each other and while we did that, I recognized that Matthew still kept his face.
I was getting kind of irritated at how he didn't even fake his suffering by smiling at her. He made his long clear that he wasn't welcoming and frankly, it made me want to punch him in his face.
— " so, I need to go, and you're planning a party for meeeeee tomorrow, so guess where this gal would be tomorrow?" She asked while she raised her pinky in the air as she finished talking. I knew what the answer was and it internally gladdened my heart.
"Here!" I exclaimed as I answered her question. I could feel Mathew looking at both of us and baking his head. My wolf was getting even more concerned and annoyed at how he was being real with his emotions and facial expression at the same time. What he wouldn't give to make matters be a living person even a tiny bit.
I kissed her goodbye and without a further glance at Matthew, she walked out. That was one thing I liked about Lia, she had this obvious deadbeat nonchalance that worked for her every time she was surrounded by bad energy.
She knew she was in bad energy, and that's why she put up this energy in front of Matthew, the problem was that Matthew was never going to notice anything about it. He was daft like that.
"You know you didn't need my permission to sign anything," I said, rolling my eyes and leaving my door open so he could follow. Which be did.
"You need to sign. I don't know what to say about everything else other than your mother's reasoning but we all know you have your ways of enjoying things that are harmful, especially women."
It felt like matters were beginning to judge me and a part of me wanted to make sure he knew just who the hell he was talking to.
"Sign, please" he sighed tirelessly. I have had enough.
"Fine!" I said, snatching the files from him and grabbing a pen, and finally writing my signature on all of the blank spaces. As I signed, I got a glimpse of his plans for her birthday/mate bonding. I was more excited than I ever was because for once not only was mattew useful, he was brilliant in whatever he did.
I signed everything as quickly as I could, returning the files to mattew.
"Good job!" I said to him as he turned his back to me but instead of words, he grunted a reply and walked straight out of the office.
Why on Earth was mattew so grumpy? I asked myself as I stared and watched him walk out. Whatever it was that was silently bugging mattew, it could wait.
I had a birthday to organize tomorrow and I had only hours.
Tomorrow I get a mate!! I honestly couldn't wait to have a mate, I knew the moon goddess had blessed me because how is it that I'm in love with Lia, her birthday is tomorrow and tomorrow is going to be a full moon. It wasn't just a coincidence, it was a blessing directly from her fingertips.

The next day, the party took its sweet time to plan but began, at nine pm earnest and even though I knew that people didn't like me, I was glad for once that people loved to have a good time. Although everyone was present, it was obvious that lia wanted a grand entrance and while it was cliche, nothing was too much for my soon-to-be bride.
No sooner than 10om, Lia strode into the party. Her party and while it was unplanned, we wore matching black velvet diamond stunning clothes. Her's was a dress that flowed like black ink that glittered and shine where ever this full moonlight hit.
I stood in awe, as I drank in her view. She looked like a hit but more importantly, she looked like a bride. My bride.
I walked up to her, gesturing for a dance before the night had the chance of progressing a minute after her feet kissed the ground. I needed to feel her beside me, I was already getting used to her feelings. Her touch and goddess if I didn't miss her sensual lips. Now more than ever as they curled up at me.
"You're staring at me" she whispered into her hot breath making the skin on my loves tingle with excitement.
"You're so beautiful" I whispered back, I felt the shivers run through her spine. I loved the effect I had on her, it gave me this sense of longing as I watched her with heavy eyes as I twirled her in the middle of the hall.
I had gone to extra lengths, just to make sure everything was kept perfect and in order upon her arrival, her friends and family were present as witnesses. I was mated by heart but I needed the sign to make everything complete.
I watched her twirl, her gown balling up the air at its ends and releasing them when I stopped twirling her around. The song ended, and the occupants of the hall spontaneously clapped their hands to signify our dancing prowess.
Everything was background noise, none important. The time had struck eleven and It was time for the moon goddess to show that we were officially mates while we stood in the presence of countless people.
The sign wasn't springing forth. I had earlier made a research on how the sign works and most times, nine out of ten a bright light from the moon shines on two people, so I was expecting that.
People started to whisper but I knew I had nothing to worry about as I knew for sure that nothing could ever separate me from the love of my life.
We stood holding hands, under the moonlight waiting for the mythical single moonlight to shine on us both, together but it was taking longer than necessary.
Murmurs moved left and right, and Lia's chest rose and fell in quick. I wasn't worried one bit, there was nothing to worry about.
"Music!" I shouted into the audience and instantaneously, music started to pour out of the organs that lined the back of the hall. People were silenced immediately as I started to slow dance with Lia in my arms.
"What's going on Kelvin?" She suddenly asked me, ripping apart from her scent that I was unconsciously gulping in.
I raised my eyebrows in question and then remembered that she couldn't see me.
"I'm sure the moon is having trouble locating us but we're meant to be together. So don't be afraid" I said again as I twirled her one last time before she said she needed to sit down.
I looked around, urging everyone to dance while I silently asked the chief maid to bring up the buffet. People danced like no tomorrow, laughing out loud at their erratic movements.
The servants started to walk in a single file, straight to the large buffet table that had been positioned before us, my hands nestled firmly in Lia's fingers, for all and sundry to see. Especially my mother who I was careful to sit at the far end of the table and as far enough from Lia as possible, Something about her grasp was warm and delightful.
Suddenly, I started to perceive the most delicious scent I have ever perceived. Sweeter than honey, it was like I could taste the air as I breathed it in.
I casually stood up, and without knowing why as I sniffed loudly and wildly at the scent as it approached me slowly. I left the grasp of Lia, shocking her and stunning the crowd to a halt. The music had stopped and it was quiet.
I didn't understand why I was sniffing and why I was suddenly curious to know what brought that scent to me. As the scent grew stronger, my voice started to chant
Mate
Mate
It was a sound in my head, a bell that wouldn't stop ringing. I kept saying it, hoping it would go away but it didn't. The more I chanted the word, the more the scent drew closer.
As it finally got to me, I walked forward and stopped just before the last step of the platform that led to the buffet table.
"Mate!" I growled.
Suddenly, I was in reality. I observed my surroundings but what startled me was what I had stopped in front of.
I stumbled in shock at what I was looking at.
"My son has found a mate!!" My mother screamed delightfully into the crowd as the hall seemed to ricochet gasps and O's as she confirmed dreadfully what I didn't want to believe.
"Who... What?" I asked, trying to figure out who the hell this was. The whole hall was stunned into silence, I could hear some people muttering and others whispering.
"A mere servant girl" I heard someone say.
Wait, it couldn't be.
I looked at her in anger as my mind tried to find a name.
"Alisha! come up here" I heard my mother say.
Alisha?! Slowly, memories of a scrawny girl started to filter into my head in a rush. Immediately, anger and disgust rushed through me. How dare the moon goddess pair me with this... This low life!
As she made to climb up the stairs, rage blinded me and in an instant, she had toppled down, flat on her bottom.
Gasps rang out of everyone's mouths. I looked at my hands. Shocked but that stop the fury that coursed through my veins. No one deserved me! It was Lia or nobody else!
