Chapter 118

444 Words
"The intensity of the storm is getting stronger as it will pass this certain area. Please make sure that everyone is safe, and if you need to evacuate, please do do." Roman suddenly stopped on his tracks as he saw what was ahead of them. "Oh my goodness, what are we going to do?" Roman said. There were branches blocking the driveway already. They can't pass if they don't remove it. "My dear, how are you feeling now? I need to clear the road first. So, please. Tell me." Roman said, and started to panic. "I can still bear the pain, my dear. Please, take care. Besides I have Cynthia with me." Mercedes said, "Yes Sir. I will make sure Ma'am will be safe." Cynthia reassured Roman. Roman went to the back of the car and opened the hood, pulling out the machete he had there. The wind was getting stronger, and it felt like the storm's eye was getting close to them. He also took out the flashlight and began to work. He made sure to hurry so that they can go as soon as possible. Slowly, he was able to remove the branches to make a way. He tried to remember if there is a possible route they can pass, but it will take longer. The deities were not giving up on them as he was able to clear them as soon as possible. He hurriedly went back to the car and he saw that her wife was doing her best during labor. "We are almost there, My dear." Roman said. "Sir, we have to hurry because I think the water bag already exploded." Cynthia said. "Yes, I'm on it." Roman said. After ten minutes, they arrived at the hospital and the doctor was already waiting for them. The nurses went out and carried a stretcher and placed Mercedes on it. "I'm glad that you made it here safe." The doctor said, "Yes, please help my wife. Thank you very much." Roman said. "Don't worry, we will make sure that your wife and the baby will be safe." The doctor assured Roman. "Thank you so much." The nurses and the doctor carried Mercedes to the delivery room. The storm outside had no signs of stopping. It was even getting stronger. Roman went to the nurses station and asked if he could make a phone call. They agreed and he tried to call the farm. There was no response and the weather might be really affecting the lines too. It was already five in the morning, as they were waiting for news from the delivery room. Roman was getting impatient and worried already.
