Chapter 117

426 Words
Roman asked Cynthia to take care of Mercedes and she agreed happily. It was also her dream to have a child of her own, but her priorities were to help her family. A month passed and it was almost Mrs. Mercedes due date. Everyone began to be skeptical as the date was getting nearer. It was really nice to see the people happy, but still there was fear. Everyone wishes that the baby would be healthy. Mercedes, on the other hand, was getting nervous as her due date was coming. A lot of thoughts were running through her mind that time. What if the baby will not come out healthy? Fears and worries were building up in her. Roman, even if he was really busy with work, he did not leave Mercedes' side. He made sure that she will take care of her wife properly. He even planned to get a nurse, but instead she asked Cynthia to take care of her, and she agreed. They made sure that Cynthia will feel safe during the duration of her pregnancy. The day finally came for her childbirth, but something was brewing up in the sky. The weather was starting to get bad, and they needed to travel towards the hospital. It might be dangerous since it's Mercedez first delivery. There was a report that a tropical storm will hit the area where they are. Everybody prepared for the upcoming storm. They made sure that the product would be okay with Roman's instructions. Mercedes began to feel the contraction and was in pain already. Roman carried him fast to the car and called the doctor. It was a thirty minute ride, but because of the weather, the road condition was bad. Cynthia came with the couple to assist them. The weather was getting worse. "My dear, how are you feeling now?" Roman asked as he watched the road. "I can still bear it, dear. Please focus on driving." Mercedes said, panting. "Are you sure Ma'am?" Cynthia asked, as she carefully wiped the sweat from her boss. "Thank you, Cynthia. Don't worry, I still can do it." Mercedes said. They continued to travel but Roman couldn't drive fast because the storm was getting worse. Roman opened the radio and they listened to the news. "The intensity of the storm is getting stronger as it will pass this certain area. Please make sure that everyone is safe, and if you need to evacuate, please do do." Roman suddenly stopped on his tracks as he saw what was ahead of them.
