“Before we met each other, he met another kid the same age and almost made a friend out of him. So Ray and that kid promised each other that they will find one another when they grow up. Now, we don’t have any idea what happened to that kid. There are times that Ray was being hunted by his promise in one of his dreams.” Miko said, and I heard him moving his chair.
“Really? So until now, you don’t have any clues where that kid went?” Sun asked.
“We did try to look for him, also his whereabouts but there was no use. We cannot find his location.” Miko said.
“I see, but let’s hope that you will find the person soon.” Sun answered.
“How about you? Can you still not remember your memories?” Miko asked.
“Unfortunately, I can’t. There are a lot of things that come across my mind but they're just vague images. I don’t know but what I can remember is a swing and a playground.” I said
“Don’t force yourself, Sun. Just remember our promise that we will help you regain your memories.” Miko said. He sure is really kind, they would be shocked if they realize that I can hear them starting earlier today.
“I know, and I am really thankful from what you have done for me so far.:” Sun said.
After a few minutes, Miko bid goodbye to Sun and told him to take care of me. Sun agreed and after that, what was left was only me and Sun.
“Finally, you can open your eyes now, Ray.” Sun said, smiling.
“How did you know?” I asked.
“Well, I noticed that you were holding your smile back and your mouth was twitching like crazy.” Sun answered.
“Oh my goodness, that’s so embarrassing.” I said,
“No need to worry, besides Miko also knows that you are awake, so don’t be embarrassed.” Sun said, laughing.
“Okay, okay. My bad.”
“Sure, just explain everything to your friend because he might annoy you with it again. How are you feeling now?” Sun asked.
“Much better now. Thank you for taking care of me.” I said, smiling back at him.
“You should be thanking your sister, not me. She took care of you, and was very considerate to us that she told us to eat first.”
“I see, but how did you know that woman is my sister?” I asked.
“Well, Miko told me about her. She also told me that you are not in a good relationship with her. But when we arrived, she looked so pretty worried about you.” Sun said.
“You must have been mistaken, Sun. My sister would not even do that, and I know she has a hidden motive.” I said.
“Well, I know it will be hard to believe but I can see that your sister’s emotion is genuine and has no pretension in it. Can you tell me why you don't believe your sister?” Sun asked.
I don’t want to argue, but I guess Sun is right. It was because of what I heard earlier, still I don’t know if her feelings were true. I don’t want to get hurt again like when I was younger. I needed them the most that time, but they can’t even check on me. I was really hurt, that it even affected how I handle people.
“It’s a very long story, Sun, and I don’t want you to get caught in it. Don’t worry, once we meet again the next day, you will find out what I am talking about.” I said.
“Okay, I understand, and I am really sorry for butting in.” Sun said.
“No, it’s okay. I am not mad or anything. I am just not comfortable when talking about it. I hope you understand, Sun.” I answered, and tried to close my eyes to rest. Sun walked towards the couch near the window and stared in space. Maybe I went overboard with what I said to him. I should apologize the next morning.
The reason why I don’t want to talk about it was, what happened gave me an emotional scar. I almost died when we were younger, and they did not even bat an eye about what would happen to me. In the end, I have to be strong to survive the cold household of the De Luna. There were really a lot of times that I wished that I had a normal life. Some people will say that I was too lucky with a golden spoon in my mouth, but it was the other way around.
I was seven years old at that time and it was summer, so it was natural for a kid to play around. It was scorching hot that time and I decided to play near the pool. Of course, there were caretakers who watched me to keep me safe, but accidents really happen when you don’t want it to happen. I slipped down the pool, and I was struggling because I can’t swim. My caretaker was about to help me, but my father arrived together with my brother and sister.
Shouting for help, I kept on trying to stay up on water, but I really don’t know how to swim. My father kept on saying that life is harsh so I need to save myself. My caretaker was really worried, but he can’t go against my father’s will.
“Rosalia! Reinan! Help me!” I shouted, but they just looked at me, as if they were waiting for me to drown. Every housekeeper was panicking already, but they couldn't do anything.
“Such a useless kid.” My father Abraham said and left. My brother and sister looked at me indifferently and left after a few seconds. The caretaker jumped out of the pool, and because I drank a lot of water, I passed out.
I just woke up in my room with a doctor beside me, checking my condition. I heard the maids murmuring with each other, but it was still audible.
“I really pity Sir Ray. How can such a father do that to his kid? I want to take him away to a safe place, but I might get killed.” The first maid said.
I totally get what they say, but it would be better if I just died in the pool. They didn't even care about me. The stare that I got from my father and siblings, it made me feel that they were really disgusted of my presence.
Everything continued until I grew up, especially when they found out that I will inherit most of the business as soon as I get married. Father kept on setting me up with arranged marriage, but every time, I ended up not doing what he wanted.
The last time was with the daughter of Glenn Pharma, but I escaped and successfully cut my ties with them. I guess it’s true that the past will haunt you if you don’t face it wholeheartedly. No one saved me from falling deeper into depravity, but I was lucky that I have my friend, and now Sun and the whole Wish and Fly.
I looked around my room and noticed that Sun fell asleep on the couch. Everyday, Sun seemed to be more human. I always forget that he is not part of our world.
The fact that I was with him all the time, and I noticed all the changes in him, it will be really hard for us to let him go when the time comes. I did wish that he was still alive, but this phenomenon will be unexplainable. We are already bending the laws of nature, but I am still hoping and wishing that he could stay with us forever. I also want Sun to find his happiness, and enjoy life to its fullest. About what Ms. Suarez told me earlier, I have to set up an investigation for Mr. Hernandez son.
I slowly carried Sun towards the bed so that he could sleep properly. His face really looks ethereal when he is sleeping. Those long lashes, his pale skin and his lips. The way he breathes makes my heart fascinated even more about him.
There was a certain force that was pulling my body towards him. I couldn't take my eyes off his lips, and I slowly moved my face towards him. I was so close that I could feel his cool breath hitting my face. The smell was so addicting, it was sweet with the hint of mint. My lips were almost touching his, but I froze all of a sudden.
What am I doing? I suddenly realized that I was taking advantage of him, so instead I hurriedly kissed his forehead. I moved back and lied down on the other side of the bed, and calmed myself down. What if I got caught?
I don’t know but somehow, I felt happy just by kissing his forehead. I think I have really fallen for Sun.
