Chapter 26

“Where are we going?” I asked.

“That’s a secret Sir. It’s a surprise, and I am pretty sure that you will love the place.”

Following her in silence, I can’t keep my eyes on a single spot. I am really amazed by the surroundings. We passed the rice field that was part of the farm. Farmers that saw us wave their hands, and in response, I did the same. It’s almost the season to harvest rice, and hopefully it will be a successful one. The scent of muddy earth filled my noses as we followed the path in the rice fields. It was very amusing to look at. I could already feel the heat of the sun as we continued walking.

“Are you still okay Sir? I’m sorry if I pulled you all of a sudden without letting you get some protection for the sun.” Lena said,

“That’s okay. I am getting used to this kind of heat, so don’t worry.” I said, smiling at her.

We were walking already for almost half an hour when we reached a brook. I guess we need to pass there because there are no other dry paths where we can walk. I noticed that there are carabaos who are leisurely taking a bath in the brook. This was the first time I saw one up close, and it’s amazing. Slowly, the tiredness that I am feeling now is disappearing because of the view. I wish I had invited Miko and Sun.

Wait, why did I think of Sun suddenly? He said that he was tied to one place only, and cannot go elsewhere. Where could he be? Maybe he could appear here since he mentioned that I need to be near so that he goes to a different place, but there are no signs of him.

“You look deep in thought, Sir Ray?” Lena asked, wiping the sweat from her face.

“Oh, it’s nothing. I just remembered someone.”

“I see, someone special?” She smiled.

“A very good friend. I guess he will like this place too.”

“You can take your friend here next time. Just remember the path so that you won’t get lost, Sir.” Lena laughed.

“Thank you. I will do so some other time. By the way, how was your conversation with your father?”

“At first, he did not agree. He even got mad after telling him that I asked you to take a day off. I explained everything to him. I told dad that I will work hard so that I can achieve what I want. Thanks to Maria, she helped me too in asking for dad’s approval.”

“Then, that’s good to hear. Remember, don’t give up if there are times that you feel that you can’t do it. Everything will also fall into place.” I smiled.

“Thank you so much Sir. I will remember what you told me, and not waste the opportunity that you gave me.”

“Good good.” I said.

Aside from Miko, and I guess Sun, I felt comfortable talking with Lena. It feels like she was my own sister. A sudden thought came across my mind. What if my siblings are like this to me? Will it make any difference?

When I was younger, I kept on thinking of ways to get closer with my siblings. No matter how hard I tried to get their attention, the more they pushed me away. Father really set us up like that, seeing each other to compete. As I grew older, I did not bother and learned to deviate my emotions, and also the longing. It was useless.

After a few moments, we finally arrived. Upon seeing the place, my jaws dropped. I did not notice that we climbed a mountain because Lena and I kept on talking. I looked at my watch and it was already ten in the morning.

I looked at Lena and she was just laughing. The place that we went to is on the lower part of the mountain, and it was a bit of an open area. The trees formed like a window, and there were rocks that we could sit on. It was breathtaking because in the area that we were on, it was overlooking the whole Wish and Fly farm.

“Did you like the place, Sir Ray?”

My eyes were twinkling because of the amazement in the whole place. The tiredness that I was feeling earlier vanished. The cool breeze from where we are is so calming. The birds were singing above us, as if it welcomed us.

“Yes, I really love this one. I need to bring Sun and Miko here next time.”

I suddenly froze when I accidentally blurted out Sun’s name.

“If it’s okay to ask, who is Sun?” Lena asked.

“U-uh, one of my close friends.” I said,

“I see, I’m pretty sure that they will love this place.” Lena said and sat down on one of the rocks. I followed her and did the same.

“Oh, crap. I forgot my phone in the kitchen. I wanted to take a picture of this place.” I said, scratching my head. Lena laughed because of my reaction.

“You can carry it next time that you go here. You can bring Sir Miko and Sir Sun too.”

“Thank you so much, Lena. I didn’t know that this kind of place existed. I enjoyed looking at them on the internet, and to think that it was just beside the farm.” I said, beaming with happiness.

“I just discovered this place one time when I tried to run away. I just kept on walking and my feet just led me to this place. Everytime I am down, this is my place to go. It’s calm up here, right?”

“Yes, how I wished that I had a place like this before.”

“Well Sir, you already know the place. If you want to relax or to calm your mind, you can go here anytime. The only problem is you will be tired when you go here.” Lena said.

I smiled at her then looked at the Wish and Fly farm. “Once you reach it, it will be rewarding.”

“Yes, Sir. This is also one of the ways I thought of to thank you. It was surprising that you just agreed to go with me here, not knowing my true intentions.”

“I’m surprised myself as well. Well, it felt like you were my younger sister so I agreed.”

“You have a younger sister? Can I meet her?” Lena exclaimed.

I smiled. “I’m the youngest. Well, let’s not talk about it.”

“Oh, okay Sir. Sorry about that.” Lena said, scratching her head in embarrassment.

We stayed there silent for a couple of minutes enjoying the view. I suddenly remembered Sun.

“Lena, do you believe in ghosts or spirits?”
