Chapter 128

“My dear, you are here. Please calm down with what I have to say.” Roman said and held her wife’s hand. 

“Why? Is there something wrong?” 

“Our son got into an accident….

“What do you mean by accident?” Mercedes asked, her hands trembling about what Roman told her. 

“The teachers called me earlier. It was a hit and run, and they were not able to capture the one who got our kid into the accident. We need to hurry now, my dear.” Roman said. 

The couple rushed towards where Austin was waiting. Austin decided to drive instead because of the situation they are in now. Roman is in a state where he was worried, so he presented and he agreed. 

“Do you know which hospital is our baby in?” Mercedes asked. 

“Yes, the teacher gave me the address where they are now. We need to hurry so that we can reach the doctor about the findings. They told me that our baby is really in a bad condition. Whoever did this to our kid will pay for real.” Roman said. 

They arrived in the hospital a few minutes later, and the teacher was waiting for them. 

“Where is our kid?” Roman asked. 

“He is currently in the ICU. We are really sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez if we are not able to protect your son as we have promised.” The teacher apologized. 

“It’s not your fault. We did not know that something like this.” Mercedes said. 

The couple hurried to where the ICU was, and tears began to fall from their faces as soon as they saw their Sun. He was really in a bad state, and for a kid to experience that was so heartbreaking. Who could have done this to their son, leaving him in such a state. 

“This is so horrible, how can our child experience this.” Mercedes said, crying. 

“Let’s hope that our son will recover from this. We should be on his side until he fully recovers.” Roman said. 

After a few minutes, the doctor arrived, and his face was written with sadness. Roman held his son’s hand tightly as the doctor approached. 

“Are you the guardian of Sun?” The doctor asked. 

“Yes we are. How is our son?” Roman asked, bracing himself for whatever the doctor will tell them.

“Where should I start. I really don’t know, but I should tell you this. Please, whatever the results are, all we can do is to have the both of you beside your son. His body suffered from intense shock with the impact from the accident. Since his body was weak as a kid, he suffered severe damage, especially his brain. We still need to do a lot of tests, and we still cannot tell when your son will wake up. There might be an instance where your son will undergo an operation.” The doctor said, looking at the couple. 

Hearing those words made Mercedes’ knees weak, causing him to fall on the floor. She cried so hard, and it broke Roman’s heart into pieces. After having all the blessings that they had, this is what they will get in return.
