Blue Hour

Chapter 110

It was summer time when a couple was busy looking over a wide field. The sound of birds and insects can be heard as two people walked by, watching the whole field full of dreams. The two dreamt of owning a farm, building their family there. Their relationship was not blessed by their parents, so they decided to live on their own instead. 

The two set their eyes on the possibilities waiting for them, that's why they took every opportunity that they could have. 

"Roman? Do you think we can be successful?" The pretty lady asked her, looking at him with loving eyes. 

"Of course, Mercedes. Don’t worry, I will make sure that everything will work for us, and for our children.” Roman said, and hugged his partner tightly. 

Months passed by as the two ventured on different things, creating a lot of things where they can get money to support their dreams. Little by little, the things that they invested on began to grow, but in return, they lost something very important. 

Mercedes' pregnancy got into a worst turn, as she suffered from miscarriage. The two were devastated, as Roman’s family got the news and blamed everything on Mercedes. They kept on telling Roman to leave and separate with her, but her love for her was true. The two decided to keep on moving forward, full of sorrow for their loss, but still hopeful that everything will be okay in the end. 

For over a year, the two decided to get married in a local town, without inviting everyone from their sides. The people who were present were the ones who they trusted the most. The couple worked hard, facing failures along the way, but they never gave up. They were never blessed with a child as they grow older. 

Years after years, and both Mercedes and Roman are reaching their forties, but still, the kid that they prayed for never came. The business that they set up became successful, and they were able to have their name as one of the successful people. 

Finally, the field that they wished to own was already purchased with their hard earned money. The couple then decided to stay and live there. When the farm started, it was not really successful, and they had difficulties in growing everything. 

Everyone that worked for them was patient too, with a wish that everything and their harvest would be successful. During that time, two newcomers decided to work with them, the one named Cynthia and the other one was Austin. 

Austin suggested that they can try growing mangoes in the open field that they still have. Roman was hesitant at first, but Mercedes told him to trust their workers. They began to plant the seedlings that they got, and continued to tend other produce on the farm. After over a year, the trees began to grow, together with their dreams. 

“How I wish I can have a son or daughter to play with too.” Mercedes said, as they watched their employees carry their kids. 

“Let’s not lose hope, Mercedes. We have to believe in our dreams and also from that person above all of us.” Roman said, as they walked to the now growing orchard.
