Chapter 109

“Yes, you’re right. The question is are you ready when you find out about the truth? And are you ready to let him go?” Miko asked. 

Before I could answer his question, someone was calling me on the phone. It was my sister. Rosalia. What could be the reason why she is calling at this hour?

“Hello?” I answered. 

“Hey, Ray? Are you okay?” She asked, and I could feel that her voice was really worried about me. 

“Yes, I am okay.” I responded. 

“I am glad to hear that you are okay. I heard from one of my staff that there was a mishap on an amusement park in the city, and it was on the news as well. When I checked, I saw Miko on the screen. That's why I thought you were with him. I heard that someone got hurt from saving a kid, and it made me think that it was you, that’s why I called.” She said, 

“Don’t worry about me, I am safe. My friend was the one who got hurt.” I said, 

“Good to hear that. But I saw Miko on the T.V? Who is this?” She asked. 

“You don’t have to know Rosalia.”

“Well, it just surprised me that you found another friend aside from Miko.” She said. 

“You are not really updated on what’s happening to me, aren’t you? Unlike before, you kept on checking every movement I made.” 

“Well, that was in the past, and everything has changed already. Ray, don’t forget our meeting, that will be the next day.” She said, reminding me. 

“Of course, no worries. Anyway, thank you for asking if I am okay.” I said,

"No problem." I said and hung up the phone.

I let out a loud sigh and placed the phone on the table. 

"Why did she call?" Miko asked. 

"Well, she saw you on the t.v that's why she called." I said, smiling. 

“Wow, this kind of news really flies fast. But you didn’t answer my question earlier.” Miko said, looking at me seriously. 

“Well, I don’t know how to answer that. A lot of things run through my mind, also there will be a lot of possibilities. What I can do now is prepare myself for the next events that will happen.” II said and closed my eyes. 

“I see, but just a fair warning, you should check for yourself first or you might end up hurting yourself again. I have known you for a very long time already, Ray. I know that your feelings for Sun are getting out of hand already. It’s also up to you if you want to tell him or not. You should be able to weigh on things that will both be good for the two of you.” He said, and gave me a glass of water. 

I reached out for the glass and drank its contents. “I know, Miko. I know. That’s why I am doing my best too, especially for him. Before everything ends, I want to show that I love him and make him feel that he is important.” 

“You have really fallen deeply for him, and that’s fine. But don’t forget everything I told you. I don’t want you to go back to the dark phase of your life.” He said, 

“Don’t worry, Miko. Everything will be okay, not just for me, but for him as well.” I said, and reached out for his hand. 

“Well, that’s good. I will go now, and you should rest too.” He said, and left the room. 

The room was silent again, and the sound that I could hear was our breathing and the dripping of the IV. I looked at Sun and watched his peaceful expression, as if he came out from a fairytale. He was hurt, but it did not show on his face. I know he was trying to be strong too, and doesn’t want to worry people around him. I stood up and moved my face close to him. I can feel his chilly breath, but instead of flinching, I was being sucked in. 

“I want the very best for you, Sun, and at least, before you go to the other side, I want you to be happy.” I said, and slowly kissed his forehead. My heart was banging loudly because of that moment, but I did not mind. I moved back to the couch, and watched him until I fell asleep.
