Chapter 131

512 Words
Before Roman could continue what he was saying, the nurses and doctors rushed towards the ICU where his son was.  “What’s happening?” Mercedes asked.  “Your son is in danger, Ma’am. We need to perform the surgery now.” The nurse said, and rushed towards the ICU. They hurriedly carry Sun towards the operating room. The couple tried to follow but they were stopped by the nurses and told them that they should wait outside.  Mercedes was almost about to faint, but Roman caught her. They slowly moved towards the bench, and Mercedes was crying already. Roman hugged her tightly and comforted her.  “Everything will be alright, let’s trust our doctors.” Roman said.  After that, they began to pray for the safety of Sun, that he will be better after the operation. Since it’s a haemorrhage, they need to operate on him carefully, and wrong movement can damage the brain. Two hours had passed, but there was still no news about the operation.  “Nurse, how is my son?” Roman asked the nurse who went out of the operating room.  “Sir, the doctors are doing their best to help your son. Don’t worry, everything will be okay.” The nurse said and hurried to leave the area.  “You should rest first or eat, my dear.” Roman told Mercedes, who was sitting with him waiting for the news about the operation.  “I will stay here, and wait for the doctor.” Mercedes answered, wiping her tears away.  “But your health will be affected too.” He said, trying to convince her wife.  “No, I will stay here.” She said firmly, and looked at the direction of the operating room.  Roman stood up and fished out the phone from his bag and called Austin. He asked him if he could buy them some food and water, in which Austin agreed instantly. After a few minutes, he arrived, carrying the food that he bought.  “How is Sir Sun, Sir Roman?” Austin asked and gave the bag to Roman,  “Still, we don’t have any news from the doctors. They said that since they need to operate his brain, it will really be very delicate, and they need to be very careful with the operation. One wrong move, or it can damage my son’s body.” Roman said,  “Let’s pray that everything will be alright, Sir. The people at the farm were worried as well, and they were praying. They even called the shaman to do a ritual for the mountain deities, to save Sir Sun and gave him protection.” Austin said,  “Thank you so much. Tell everyone that we still have no news, and we still need more prayers for my baby.” Roman answered, tapping Austin’s shoulder.  “Oh, one more thing Sir. Since it’s dusk already, there was a strange phenomenon happening right now on the farm.” Austin said.  “What phenomenon? What do you mean?”  “Fireflies are swarming the mango orchard.”
