Chapter 130

“Roman, what are we going to do now?” Mercedes said, and hugged his husband, crying. 

“Don’t worry, our son will be saved.” Roman said, hiding his true feelings. He was gathering all the strength he has and not showing it to his wife. 

Days passed and the situation of Sun was getting worse and needed to be operated on. Finally, the doctors who volunteered to help with Sun’s recovery came. The news also about what happened with their family spread like wildfire, reaching even their families. One day, someone unexpectedly arrived at the hospital.

“How is my grandson?” The old man said, as they approached Mercedes and Roman. The two were surprised by his arrival. Together with him was Roman’s sister, who was looking at them and was like telling them that she has no idea about this visit. 

“He is fine, and how did you know about what happened?” Roman asked, keeping distance from his father. 

“It’s all over the news. You kept on hiding my grandson from me, and look at what happened.” The old man said.

“It doesn’t have to do anything with you, father. So what’s the purpose of going here? Are you going to tell me again about things, and blame me on what happened to my son?” Roman’s tone went up, as Mercedes was calming him down. 

“You know, son. I am already asking for forgiveness from everything that I have done to you and of course, your wife. I know what I did before was wrong, and I already reflected on it, but why can’t you forgive me.” Roman;s father asked. 

“You already know the answer to that, Father. I was asking for your blessing, and even at our wedding, you did not appear. And now, do you think I can easily forget what you did, not now. I can forgive you, but my feelings will never change. You were not on my side when I needed you the most, and you even threw us away. What benefit did you get from that?” Roman said, his voice cracking. Mercedes was holding his hands tightly so that he can calm down already. 

“What I did in the past was really not good, and I admit it. That’s why I am asking you for forgiveness. Your mother passed away, not even hearing anything from you. That’s how you really despise us? Even at your mother’s death, you did not show up.” 

“See, you don’t know anything at all! I was there, but it felt like I was not part of the family anymore. You did not know that I was there, my heart breaking at my mother’s funeral.” Roman said, 

“Please, Roman. Calm down now. Everyone is looking at us.” Mercedes said, comforting his husband. 

“You should go now, Father. We can survive this, and thanks for your concern for your grandson.” Roman said.

Roman’s father was hesitant to leave, but Roman’s sister told him that he should go home and rest. They left and Roman and Mercedes were left there outside the ICU. 

“I know your father’s intention, my dear. I think it’s time to let go off all the grudge that is in your heart. It’s time to forgive him, my dear.” Mercedes said.

“I don’t know, my dear…

Before Roman could continue what he was saying, the nurses and doctors rushed towards the ICU where his son was. 

“What’s happening?” Mercedes asked.
