“I think you should get changed first.” I said, looking at the status of my friend. Like me, the rainwater has already dried up and we were a mess.
“You should too. You go ahead first, and then I will follow.” Miko said, pointing at my restroom.
I walked towards my closet and picked up a towel and clean clothes. I also handed Miko a clean towel and shirt, as he sat down beside Sun. He picked up his phone and called someone before I entered the bathroom.
The warm water slowly slid down through my body, removing the soreness I was feeling earlier. My heart was starting to calm down after all of the events. Never in my life have I imagined that I would encounter this kind of scenario. Did I do something in my past life to deserve all of these things now? My heart is already tired of everything, starting from the very beginning. I hope I can get through this, not just to myself, but also to the people who were really important to me. After half an hour, I left the bathroom and Lena was also waiting in my room.
Miko entered the bathroom, and I sat down on the chair, drying my hair.
“How about you Sir Ray? Are you feeling okay?” She asked.
“Yes, Lena. Don’t worry about me. You should check on yourself first. I told you to rest right? Why are you here?” I asked.
“I am just worried about the two of you. I cannot help myself not to think about what happened earlier, and it was painful for me to look at the two of you. Especially, you Sir Ray. I can see the pain and sadness in your eyes, your cries for help earlier, and I can’t do nothing, but just stand there.” She said,
“It’s okay Lena. We never wanted this to happen, and let’s be thankful that everyone is safe.” I said, giving her a smile so she won’t feel down even more.
“I think you should rest now, Lena. Look at you, you look like a mess too. I will be scolded by your father if we go back to the farm and you are sick like that.”
“Yes Sir Ray. I will, and please, tell me when big brother Sun wakes up.” She said,
“I will.” I answered and she left the room. Sun and I were the ones who were left in the room for now. I looked at him, and he was resting well now. I reached out for his hands and covered them with my own. I can feel the gentle coolness coming from him, the sensation that I got used too.
“Sun, if you can hear me, please get well. I am sorry if you got hurt, but I know you really wanted to save Marga. I wish I had the courage that you had, so instead of you getting hurt, I would gladly take your place."
There was no response, he was just lying in bed. I looked at the clock and it's past one in the morning. I wonder how the kids were doing?
