Chapter 16

“Good morning, Cynthia and everyone. Please sit down and continue what you were doing.” I said and smiled at them. 

Everyone went back slowly to what they were doing and I can feel that some were shy with my presence around. 

“Please, don’t mind me everyone.” I said, and smiled at them. Maybe I should get out of here already so that I will not bother them. 

“Sir, before you leave have some of this.” Cynthia said and gave me a cup. I was expecting it to be coffee, but when I tasted it, it was hot chocolate. 

“Do you like it?” Cynthia asked. 

“To be honest, I am not a fan of sweet stuff but this was nice. Thank you.” I said and smiled at her. 

“I am glad that you liked it. That’s also one of the products that we have here at Wish and Fly farm. We supply chocolate made from cacao trees. The seeds are the one that we use to make the cocoa. We will show you how to make it sometime.” Cynthia said. 

“Oh, wow. I am really excited for this one. Thank you. I have to go now and get changed.” 

“Sorry sir, but I think Sir Miko forgot to tell you that we will have a visitor today.” Cynthia said. 

“Visitor?” 

“Uh, it’s the local shaman. People in the countryside believe in superstitions. The local shaman helps us ward off negative energy in this farm, well in exchange for some stuff. We also believe that we need to pay respect to the spirits for a good harvest.” 

“It’s okay, I’ll meet him later once he arrives. Let me know once he is here so that I can greet him as well. I have to go now.” I said, 

“Okay, sir. Thank you.” 

After talking some things with the other employees, I left the kitchen and headed back to my room. When I opened the door, my heart almost fell out. 

“Boo!” Miko suddenly popped out behind me. My hand went flying and smacked his head. 

“Ouch! What was that for? I am just joking.” Miko said, touching his head. 

“It’s too early in the morning to make jokes, Miko. I almost had a heart attack with what you did. You know I am not good with this kind of stuff.”

“Calm down. Sorry, my friend. I was looking for you and you were not in your room. It was a bit odd for you to come out too early. I was about to ask you for breakfast, but you were gone already.” 

“You should go now. I already have my breakfast. Cynthia is waiting for you there.” 

“You did not wait for me again.” Miko said, making a sad face. 

“Stop that, you look even more annoying with that face.” I said and raised my hand.

“Okay, I’ll stop now. Bye, see you later. By the way, check the reports that I sent on your email. Some need approval.” 

“Sure, now go before I hit your silly face again.”
