AZRAEL’S POV
I wasn’t looking for her.
That’s what I told myself when I walked toward the window with a glass of whiskey in my hand.
I just needed air.
But the moment I pulled the curtain aside...
There she was.
Her hair catching the sunlight as she tried to escape from Havoc, who was clearly enjoying every second of chasing her around the garden like they were children with no weight on their shoulders.
I froze.
For a second, I thought I was imagining it.
That laugh... That unguarded, bright, careless laugh.
I had never heard it like that.
Not with me.
My jaw tightened.
Havoc caught up to her and tried to grab her wrist. She squealed and twisted away, still laughing.
And before I even realized what I had done, the glass shattered in my hand. Whiskey spilled over my fingers as fragments of crystal fell and scattered across the floor.
A thin line of red formed along my palm.
I didn’t even flinch.
Instead, a low chuckle escaped my lips.
“Unbelievable…” I muttered under my breath.
I watched them again.
Havoc finally caught her by the wrist, and she tried to pry his hand away, both of them breathless from running.
She looked alive.
Free.
Not the stiff, guarded girl who stood in front of me in the kitchen.
My tongue ran over my teeth slowly.
“Could you believe it?” I murmured to the empty room, eyes never leaving the scene below.
“They even share the same initials…" obserbasyon ko at napapailing.
H.
Havoc.
Haliyah.
My jaw clenched harder.
Inside, something ugly twisted.
I didn’t like the way she smiled at him.
I didn’t like the way he looked at her.
And I definitely didn’t like how natural they seemed together.
Another low chuckle left my lips, but this time it carried heat.
I wanted to go downstairs.
Right now.
To step between them.
To wipe that carefree smile off Havoc’s face.
To remind her... who she was under.
Who she answered to.
But I didn’t move.
Not yet. Instead, I leaned my forehead briefly against the glass of the window, eyes darkening as I watched them slow down from their chase.
“You look happy,” I muttered.
And for some reason, it irritated me more than anything else.
My blood simmered beneath my skin.
I didn’t like this feeling.
This tight, possessive pull in my chest.
But one thing was certain...
If Havoc thought he could just step into my space and play like a hero?
Then, he was gravely mistaken.
I stepped back from the window, slowly, deliberately. The shards of glass on the floor didn’t even matter. Blo0d trickled down my palm, mixing with the spilled whiskey, but I didn’t care. Not for a second. The sting was meaningless.
The only thing that mattered was her. That laugh. That smile. That freedom that Havoc thought he could claim.
I walked out of my room. Quiet, but every step was deliberate. The mansion was large, but I knew where to go. I didn’t need to look.
I went downstairs.... to the kitchen.
And just as I expected.
She was there.
Haliyah. Bent over the counter, chopping vegetables. Her movements are precise, focused, yet somehow tense. I could feel her body stiffen the moment I entered the doorway.
Her hands trembled slightly, or maybe she was just holding herself back. The knife paused mid-cut, the vegetables frozen between her fingers and the cutting board. She heard me. She always hears me.
I didn’t rush. I walked slowly, each step calculated, until I was close enough to make her aware of my presence without a word.
Her breath hitched just slightly. I could see it in the subtle rise of her shoulders, the way her fingers tightened around the knife. She was about to turn, about to offer the vegetables to me, but I didn’t allow her the chance.
Mas lalo akong lumapit sa kanya. My hands pressed firmly on either side of the sink, framing her. Cornering her.
Her eyes widened, and I could feel the quick pulse of her heartbeat through the tense muscles of her arms.
“You’re going to stop pretending I’m invisible, aren’t you?” I murmured, my voice low, calm, but deadly.
I leaned just slightly forward, letting my presence engulf her, letting her know without a word that she couldn’t just laugh in the garden and pretend it didn’t matter. That she couldn’t exist in freedom elsewhere without me noticing.
Her fingers still hovered over the vegetables, frozen.
“You look like you’ve been holding yourself back all day,” I whispered, almost taunting. "Did you enjoy being chase by him? Do you also want me to do the same thing?" sunod-sunod kong tanong.
I let my gaze sweep over her, memorizing every reaction, every twitch, every sign of tension.
"Do you want to slap me...again?" usal ko, "Go on... slap me, Haliyah.." dagdag ko, sinadya ko iyon upang mas lalo siyang mainis.
I don't want her to kept looking up to me, dahil sa totoo lang... gusto kong ako ang tumingala sa kanya. I want to knelt down in front of her and show her how much I worshipped him.
That she already wrapped me around his fingers the moment she looked into my eyes.
I leaned closer, my face barely inches from hers, letting the heat of my presence press against her senses.
Her eyes flared with disbelief, and I could see the muscles in her jaw tighten. She wanted to, I knew she did. And the thought made the tension in my chest thrum with anticipation.
Her fingers curled around the knife for a heartbeat before she dropped it. The hesitation was mine to toy with, mine to push past.
And then… it happened.
At mas malakas iyon kesa sampal niya noong nakaraang araw.
I could feel the sting travel across my skin, warm and sharp. My cheek throbbed, a delicious pain that made my blo0d run hotter.
I didn’t flinch. I didn’t pull away. Instead, I pushed my tongue against the inside of my cheek, pressing against where her palm had landed, just as I always did.
“Thank you… so much,” I murmured, my voice low, amused, almost teasing.
Her eyes widened. “W-what?”
“You heard me,” I said, tilting my head slightly, letting the smirk linger. “That slap… it means more than you think.”
Her breath hitched. Confusion flickered across her face. And that flicker… that reaction, I wanted to savor.
I grabbed her gently, but firmly, by the waist, tilting her toward me. Her body stiffened, and her hands instinctively went to my chest, pushing, punching, trying to resist.... pero hindi sapat ang lakas niyong upang tuluyan niya akong maitulak, at mas hinigpitan ko pa ang aking pagkakahawak sa kanya.
“Now I have my reasons to do this…” bulong ko, at kasunod niyon ay ang paglapit ng aking mukha sa kanya.
Her hands pounded against my chest, each thud echoing her struggle, but I deepened the kiss, swallowing her protests into the press of my own will.
She tasted like shock, heat, and disbelief, and it made me feel hungry for more. And just as she tried to pull back, a sound from the hallway caught my attention.
I deliberately shifted her body, tilting her to the side, so that her back faced the doorway. I did it on purpose, so that he could see it clearly that I was k*ssing her.
I want him to see that he couldn't take her that easily away from me.
So I didn't end the k*ss. I let it linger, letting the sight of me holding her close, claiming her like this, pushing every boundary, every control, every instinct I could sense in her.
Her hands clawed at my chest harder, her nails leaving tiny scratches, but I didn’t let go. I wanted her to know I wasn’t asking for permission anymore. I wasn’t waiting for hesitation.
And as I finally pulled back just enough to whisper against her lips, letting her feel the heat of my breath, I murmured…
“Do you understand now why you can't let anyone have you have me?"
But even with her reaction... I could still feel how tightly she already held onto me, at hindi niya man lang iyon napansin. And it made me feel overwhelmed seeing the way her fingers were holding the fabric of my clothes.
"You're under me. I'm your boss, you will serve me and only me. You are my personal maid..... kaya sa akin ka lang dapat. You're not going to serve anyone, but me," I added and leaned closer to her to kiss her again.
