Can’t deny this feeling that every time Sean is near me, naghuhuramentado ‘tong puso ko. Iba talaga epekto niya sa akin, not in a negative way though. Gaya lang ngayon, matapos namin kumain at magligpit ay na-upo na kami sa sofa sa living area. Isang dangkal lang ang pagitan namin pero parang nakukuryente na ako.
“So ― a-ahm.” ‘Di ko alam kung paano sisimulan.
I guess he had an idea of what I’m trying to do, so he reached for my left hand and pull it towards him and rested his hand while holding mine on his lap. He is sitting on my left side.
I heard his weighty sigh. “Riley and I were friends since we’re in college. Kami nila Matt and the rest of the guys you met last time.” I settled my eyes on him as I listen to what he is saying. “Pero nagkalamat lang dahil sa kagaguhang ginawa niya noon.”
“Which is?”
“I was dumped by my ex-girlfriend because of him. I have no idea back then, inaagaw na pala sa akin ang girlfriend ko ng patalikod.” I can see in his eyes that it still affects him. Could it be possible na kung walang nangyaring ganon ay sila pa rin hanggang ngayon?
He gives me a questioning look. “What are you thinking?”
“N-nothing.” I tried my best not to stutter but I failed.
He playfully poked my nose using his left index finger. “You’re overthinking.”
“I’m not.” Mabilis kong sagot sa sinabi niya.
“You are. But Lexi, don’t be. I have moved on, ikaw na ang nilalaman nito.” He pointed his left chest. “It just that natatakot ako na maulit ulit ang nangyari noon, I can’t bear it anymore. You mean so much to me, that’s why when I saw him holding your hands, I really got mad. I was jealous and scared, too. Though, it is my fault dahil siya ang tinawagan ko that time when you need to be treated. I was thinking kasi na baka bumalik sa alaala mo ang nangyari sa kuya mo kapag pupunta tayo ng hospital, so I decided na dito na lang and called him. I’m sorry.”
I slightly tilt my head to the right side. We are still looking at each other’s eyes.
“Hindi mo naman kailangang mag-sorry, eh. Naiintindihan ko and thank you for being considerate.” Tipid akong ngumiti. “You don’t have to worry, Sean. Wala ka bang tiwala sa akin?”
Alam ko naman na hindi madaling buuin ulit ang tiwala sa pag-ibig o sa ano mang bagay, lalo pa’t nasaktan siya ng husto. Ika nga, broken trust is like a broken mirror ― you can never get all the pieces back. Hindi ko man alam kung pang-ilang heartbreak na ang na-experience niya, pero kung iniisip niya na magagawa ko siyang lokohin ay hindi mangyayari ‘yon dahil mahal ko siya.
Shocks! I finally admit it to myself, I love him.
“I do trust you, Lexi. I love you and I’m willing to wait until God knows when for your answer.” Hinaplos niya ang pisngi ko. “You give me the courage to still trust in loved one more time.”
I was speechless for a bit and a tear fell from my eyes. I can’t contain these feelings anymore; I should tell him already.
“Hey, why are you crying?” He looked worried as he wipes the tear on my face.
“I’m just happy. Hearing you saying those three words, makes my heart warmed and happy.”
He cackles. “I’m glad that I make you ―”
Here it goes…
“I love you too, Sean.”
I saw how his face turned from smiling to being confused.
“W-what did you say?” It was almost a whisper.
“Mahal kita, Sean. Mahal na ma ―”
He cut me off by pulling me into his arms and gave me a tight hug.
“Totoo ba? You’re not joking right?”
Mahina kong hinampas ang balikat niya. “Mukha ba akong nagbibiro?”
He pulled away. “Is this for real? Sinasagot mo na ako? G-girlfriend na kita?”
I flinch. “Parang ayaw mo naman. Baba―”
He is fond on cutting me off, but this time he did it by kissing me. I closed my eyes and put my arms around his neck and brought my hands to his hair and deepened the kiss. His hands are on both sides of my face, and he kissed me hard as if he is not wanting to stop it.
He groans as he moves away from me when he heard his phone ringing. Umayos kami ng upo bago niya sagutin ang tawag, I think it’s a work related dahil naririnig kong pinag-uusapan nila ang new plan ng building na itatayo sa ibang province soon.
I checked my phone while he is still busy, and as I scroll my feed something caught my eye. It was a short video of that night when Sean and Doc Riley got into a fight. I checked the comments, and they are talking nonsense. May nabasa pa akong isa na parang sinisisi pa ako sa nangyari.
Dahil sa babaeng yan, nagkasugat ang pisngi ni papi Xavier. I hope he’s okay.
Ang arte! Kairita!
“Huwag mo na pansinin ‘yan. It’s not worth your time.” I shivered when he gave me a back hug and talk beside my ear. “As much as I want to spend more time with you, kailangan ko ng bumalik sa unit ko dahil may gagawin ako na needed sa work.” Dagdag pa niya. He sounded unhappy.
Hinaplos ko ang kamay niya na nakapulupot sa bewang ko. “Okay, you can go now.”
“Ayaw mo bang sumama sa unit ko?” humiwalay siya sa akin at tinignan ko naman siya. Ngumingiti siya ng nakakaloko.
I pinched his cheeks. “Mag-aaral din ako, hindi pa tapos ang hell week.”
“Fine.” He pouted, ang cute!
I gave him a quick smack on the lips. “Dali na, it’s getting late na rin.”
Tumango siya at tumayo na. We were holding each other’s hands while going to the front door.
“Ihahatid kita bukas, okay?” he said excitedly.
I nodded and smile, he leaned closer to me and kissed me again. It was a long kissed.
“I love you, Lexi.”
“I love you too, Sean.”

“Where are you now?”
“Nasa mall na, NBS to be exact. May bibilhin lang na supplies for arts festival, ako yung nautusan, eh. Ite-text pa sana kita but you called already.”
Nagsimula na akong magtingin ng mga materials.
“I see. Who’s with you? Kasama mo ba si Coleen?”
“Nope, we’re not in the same program remember?”
“Oo nga pala. I missed you!”
Natigilan ako sa narinig, I felt my cheeks heating up.
“Wala pa ngang 24 hours, miss mo na ako agad?”
“Yeah,” he started to speak softly. “Gusto na kita makita, nakaka-stress na dito sa office.”
I missed him too. I miss his hugs and kisses.
“I missed you, too. Sunduin mo ko dito, okie? I’ll wait for you.” I smiled sweetly kahit di niya nakikita.
“No need to remind me, Lexi. Susunduin talaga kita diyan, tatapusin ko lang yung ginagawa ko.”
“Okay, I’ll hung up na. I love you!”
“Ang sarap naman pakinggan niyan. I love you too.”
It takes a minute bago niya i-end ang tawag. Inilagay ko na sa bag ko ang phone then I continue looking for the things needed.
“Lexi? Do you have a moment to talk?”
