Chapter 5

Maryse POV

“Bulaga!!” nagulat bigla si Aliyah nang kinalabit ko siya, kalabit pa lang iyon ahh.

“Ano ka ba mars? Bigla bigla kang nanggugulat ehh” -Aliyah

“Sino ba kasi hinahanap mo?” tanong ko.

“Wala dito ehh, tara na mars” -Aliyah

“Mukhang kilala ko iyan ahh ayieeeee”

“Mars naman ehh, ehh si Bryce nagkita na kayo?” -Aliyah

”Talagang ibahin ang topic ehh noh, tara na at hanapin na lang natin yung iba nating mga kaklase dati”

Maski ako ay palingon lingon sa kaliwa at sa kanan ko, bakit ganito ? Wala naman akong gustong makita sa reunion na ito pero tila may hinahanap ako? Ang weird.

Napatigil ako sa paglalakad dahil sa pag-iisip, sa pagtigil ko ay sinagasaan ako ni Aliyah.

“Mars sor------” ang pag-aakala ko ay si Aliyah. “Bryce?”

“Maryse? I’m sorry I’ve bumped on you, I didn’t notice you a while ago” -Bryce

Nang nakita ko si Bryce ay kaagad akong lumayo sa kanya at umalis. “Ali tara na”

“Wait Maryse” nang hinabol ako ni Bryce ay kaagad akong nagmadali para hindi niya ako masundan. Heto na nga ba ang sinasabi ko ehh, sa lahat ng tao, siya pa ang makikita ko dito.

Habang nagmamadali ako ay bigla kong nabunggo si Alexa na may hawak na wine, parehas kaming natapunan nito.

“What the heck!!!” natapunan ang magarang damit ni Alexa at tila ang sama ng tingin sa akin. “How dare you! Wait? I know you? Hindi kita maaring makalimutan, Maryse Joy right?” ako naman ay hindi makatayo dahil sa sobrang tense, after so many years, muli nanaman kaming nagkita, tapos nandito pa si Bryce.

“Look what you’ve done to my dress? Wanna know how much is this?” -Alexa

“H—Hindi ehh, babayaran ko na lang“

“Babayaran? Baka abutin tayo ng isang taon bago mo mabayaran ito, huwag na lang, alam kong wala kang pambayad. Para quits tayo” kinuha ni Alexa ang bote ng wine pero kaagad umeksena si Bryce.  “Hey hey, please stop it, Alexa?”

“Bryce? Until now kayo padin ng babaeng iyan?” -Alexa

“Yes, and I will not allowed you to hurt my girlfriend” bigla akong inakbayan ni Bryce.

“Wait, get off my hands of me” maarte kong sinagot sa kanya at inalis ko ang kamay niya. “Huwag ka ngang feeling prince charming. I’m good, I already enjoy the party tonight” kinuha ko ang bag ko at umalis na dahil ang dami na ring mga tao na nakatingin sa akin plus nabasa pa ang damit ko dahil sa collision namin ni Alexa kanina.

“Maryse!! Wait!” katulad ng kanina ay hinabol ulit ako ni Bryce na tila hinahabol ako ng aso, sabagay mukha naman kasi talaga siyang aso.

Binilisan ko pa ang pagtakbo pero dahil sa pagod ko ay napatigil ako at naglakad na lang, dahil doon ay nahabol ako ni Bryce.

“Maryse, wait! I want to apologize on what happened” -Bryce

“Are you happy? Are you happy that you already saw me after you left me a couple of months ago? You told me that you don’t want to see my face again right? So why are you chasing me huh?”

“Because I want to say sorry to you, look, that time I’m just frustrated because of my uncle’s business that he was handled to me. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings Maryse” -Bryce

“Bulok na iyang style mo!!” binitawan ko ang kamay niya nang hawakan niya ito. “For the nth time, you always saying that you’re frustrated, your just tired and so on and so forth. Sometimes, I realize that if I am the one who cause your frustration? I had enough Bryce! I’m giving you a chance, after chance but you’re just disobeying it. So do you think I can trust you enough?” Tumutulo na ang uhog ko sa sobrang drama ko.

“Please give me one more chance Maryse, this would be my last I swear to you” -Bryce

“Sorry Bryce, I think that’s enough” iniwan ko na siya at tuluyan nang umalis. Hindi na ako nagpaalam kay Aliyah at Tyler na uuwi na ako. Sabi na ehh, ganitong ganito ang mangyayari kapag nagkita kami ni Bryce. Talagang advance akong mag-isip ehh noh. Ako namang si tanga, nagpadala naman.

Bryce’s POV

I went back to the hotel after that incident between Maryse and Alexa, as one of the coordinators of this reunion, I went to the stage and announce something.

“Ahhmm guys, sorry for the interruption a while ago. Please, if you recorded the incident a while ago, just deleted ito ok? I don’t want to appear that on social media and have a serious issue. We are here to enjoy ok? Enjoy the party tonight. Good evening”

After that, I tried to search for Alexa so I asked her former classmates. “Where’s Alexa?”

“She went to the restroom with Madison”

So I went near to the female restroom and I waited her there. After a while.

“Bryce? I’m sorry on what---” I didn’t finish her for talking.

“I know, you want to say sorry to me because on what you have done to Maryse, apologize accepted. But please forgive Maryse ok?”

“Ahhmm Bryce, Alexa. Excuse me for a while so both of you could talk in private. Let me excuse” Madison left us so that she can let me and Alexa talk for a while.

“How could I forgive her, Look what your slumpy girlfriend did to me a while ago? So disgusting” -Alexa

I took my wallet and gave her cash. “Here, I’ll pay for the damage, but please apologize to her ok? It’s my fault because I was chasing her a while ago”

Alexa didn’t accept the money. “Who do you think I am? A cheap girl? The cheap one is that girlfriend of yours. I still can’t believe that you choose a F+ type of girl. Do you have covid-19? Because you don’t have the taste” I’m trying to slap her but I didn’t continue. “Are you hurting me? Go! Hurt me! That’s what you always do to me every single time! Hurt me Bryce!! Go!!” she grab my hand and punched it to herself until I moved my hand just to avoid her.

“Stop it Alexa, why are you acting like that huh?”

“Because I still love you Bryce. I know that it’s been a long time that we’ve had our last relationship but I still can’t forget you. Please Bryce, choose me over that cheap girl” Alexa trying to seduce me but I’m trying to let go of her. I’m over with Alexa after she tried to cheat on me for the past couple of years.

“Sorry, but I need to fix this mess, I need to go”

“Bryce!!” -Alexa

Crazy girl! But still, I miss the other crazy girl named Maryse. I didn’t intend to hurt her feelings for the past couple of months.

I went back to the hotel where the reunion has been held. I’m still looking for Maryse after she left me a while ago? Where is she now?

Maryse POV

“AHHHHHH!!! Ang kapal ng mukha mo!!! Ang kapal, ang kapal talaga ng mukha mo!!“ nasa bahay na ako at pinagpupunit ko ang lahat ng mga nakita kong papel sa kwarto ko, ayoko namang magbabato ng mga gamit dito dahil may masisira ako baka pagalitan pa ako ng landlady namin sa apartment kaya ito na lang ang ginawa ko.

“Ayaw na kitang makita Bryce, layuan mo na ako” patuloy akong nagpupunit ng papel hanggang sa makita ko ang isang litrato, ito ang litrato namin ni Bryce nung 1st anniversary namin. Dahil nanilim ang paningin ko ay pinagpupunit ko ito ng pira-piraso. “Buset ka! Magsama kayo ni Alexa! Gnnnnn”

Habang nagdadabog ako ay pumasok si Alexa sa kwarto ko. “Mars!!!” tumigil ako sa pagpipilas ng mga papel, lumapit sa kanya at niyakap siya ng mahigpit habang patuloy ang paghagulgol ko. “Tahan na mars, pasensya na kung pinilit ka namin, hindi naman namin alam na ganun ang magiging sitwasyon ehh, sorry na” patuloy ang pagcomfort sa akin ni Aliyah habang ako naman ay inilalabas ko na lang ang lungkot at sama ng loob ko.

“Mars” pinunasan ko na ang luha ko after kong mag-iiiyak. “Tulungan niyo akong makalimutan si Bryce”

Hinawi ni Aliyah ang buhok ko na natatakpan ng mukha ko. “We’re here to support you mars, makakalimutan mo din iyang si Bryce”
