Chapter 48

Hunter   As i scan the condo, it is not bad at all. The space is big enough for me, no doubt Cole can afford this one because his family’s business is not a joke. After scanning the place I immediately called jinie to told her about my arrival. She immediately want to see me but I want to rest first beacuse of jetlagged. “I will meet you early in the morning to your favorite restaurant.” I said while pinching my nosebridge. “Why not now?!” she said. From the tone of her voice, alam ko na nakanguso ito dahil hindi mapagbigyan ang gusto. Ever since then, our Dad spoiled Jinie that whatever she wants she gets in an instant that’s why she is very stubborn like right now. I turn the loudspeaker on and continue talking to her while unpacking my clothes. “You know that I just got home right? Please let me rest today.” Mahinahong anya ko sa kabilang linya. Literally, I just want to rest my mind and my body. “Don’t worry we will meet tomorrow, I promise.” I sincerely said to her after finishing unpacking my clothes. “Fine.” Tila sumusukong saad nito sa kabilang linya. “Just remember what I told you? Don’t tell Dad I got home.” There is seriousness on my voice. I don’t want our father to know my arrival dahil alam kong gagawa at gagawa siya ng paraang pigilan ako sa pag-iimbistiga. After the call I decided to take a shower. The sound of the shower doesn’t stop me on thinking about my investigation on my father. I will definitely know kung saan mo itinatago ang bastardo mo. I said in gritted teeth while looking at my reflection in the mirror. You fool me once but, not twice.   I woke up early in the morning to jog in the park because its still early and I know that up until now Jinie is still sleeping. Usually she woke up around 6:30 and it still 5 in the morning. I am already getting back to the hotel while half running, when I accidentally bump into someone. I dropped my phone because of the impact it create. “I’m sorry.” I heard a deep manly voice. “I’m sorry too.” I also said while picking my phone. I did not give him a glance while picking my phone up, but then he cleared his throat to get my attention. I give him a what-now look while he had this very cheeky smile that gave me chill feeling. Literally, because he look like an idiot. “What!?” I said with a stern look on my face. I look at my feet and found out his resume on my left foot. I picked it up and hand it to him without saying anything at tinalikuran siya upang bumalik na sa hotel. The sweat on my body are very visible in my white nike sando. I gracefully walk in the elevator while tapping my left thigh. From my peripheral vision, I saw a group of girls walking and stop beside me. I saw one of them kept looking at me but I ignore it even though I heard them talking about me. I confidently walk in the elevator para makaakyat na sa condo upang maligo. It is already 6 am so I need to freshen up and arrive first to the restaurant dahil ayaw na ayaw ni Jinie ang pinaghihintay, mas gusto niya ang siya ang hinihintay. And it is very hard to pleased her, like one time when I got late because some emergency came up. I was 20 minutes late and jinie is nowhere to be found in the restaurant. I called her but she always hangs up and then I got a text from her that says she hates me. Akala ko ilang araw lang lilipas we are okay again but I was wrong. One time I visited her school, I was scanning the place when I saw her, I called her and she immediately turn to my direction but upon seeing me, she immediately run away. It is not just one time because when I visited her and Tita, I will just greet her but she will immediately cut me off be walking away like I have a disease. I don’t want that to happen again because it is a nightmare for me to be ignored by my beloved sister.   I kept the elevator open for the girls outside because I know it is rude to just shut it to their faces even though I want to, because its already late. I saw them pushing each other while giggling and I just give them a stern look. “Are you getting in or not?” I said irritated by their actions. Napailing na lang ako sa kanila, I felt my phone vibrated, that means it has a text message. I got it and read the message. I hear the murmurs of the girls on my back but I ignored it and silently type an answer after reading the message. Ako: “Busy, maybe tomorrow.” I return my phone to my pocket upon hearing the elevator. I confidently walk out and stride towards the door of Cole’s condo. I immediately go to the bathroom to take a shower. Minutes later, I am now patiently waiting for Jinie’s arrival on her favorite spot. A minute earlier, I received a text from her that she is on the way. It will take 15 minutes before she arrive that’s why I decided to order some coffee while waiting. “May I take your order sir.” Baritonong saad nito. I am busy scanning the menu when suddenly a loud voice interrupted me. “Ikaw yung kanina.” The waiter shouted while pointing his finger at me. He say sorry to the customers while bowing down. “Do I know you?” I asked. He face me when he heard my question. “Remember, the resume boy?” pagturo nito sa sarili. Upon hearing what he said, suddenly I remember him. I nodded at him while he is smiling like an idiot. “Can I order now?” I said with a stern look on my face while swaying the menu on his face. “One black coffee.” I said. “One black coffee, anything sir?” he politely said while waiting for the rest. “Just balck coffee.” “Okay sir, black coffee it is.” He immediately go back to his work while I am busy looking at my watch thinking about Jinie. It is passed 15 minutes already. I decided to text her but stop when I caught a glimpse of her walking on the entrance of the restaurant like she is in a runway. I saw how most of the male customers was captivated by her beauty. She scan the place and found me and stride towards my direction. “Very late.” I said while shooking my head. “It is better late than never.” Tila nang-aasar pang turan nito bago komportableng umupo sa katapat kong upuan.
