His mother's ring

After cleaning the room, we went straight to home. Ganoon ulit ang nangyari, Aldwin will walked me home and if my Mom saw him then he will eat lunch with us. Aldwin can't refused to my Mom's offer but today, I help him to refused.

"Ma, malapit na ang exam namin kaya mag-aaral pa si Aldwin pagkarating nya sa bahay. Huwag na natin syang abalahin. Hayaan mo na lang syang umuwi para hindi sya gabihin." I convinced Mom. Thank God, she did not argued but she still insist of preparing some side dishes for him. Aldwin stayed for some minutes here in the living room. He was still waiting for my Mom's side dishes even though he yawn everytime. I looked at him with an apologetic eyes, being sorry for my Mom's personality. Well, Mom wasn't annoying but in this case, she was! Alam nyang pagod si Aldwin pero pinag-intay nya pa ng matagal!

"Salamat po dito Tita. Alis na po ako." paalam ni Aldwin kay Mama. Mom flashed her sweetest smile to him. After that, I volunteered to accompanied him out of the house. Thank goodness, my Dad did not see him. If yes then he will convinced Aldwin to eat lunch with us.

"Get inside." Aldwin said in a tired voice. He keeps on yawning so I did not argue to him.

"Update me kapag nakauwi ka na." I remind him.

He just nodded as an answer to me. He kissed my forehead and whispered something on my ear.

"Good night." his voice was like a sweet music to my ear.

We eat our dinner together with my family. At first, I was really starving so I eat a lot but when Mom asked how was my performance in school, I suddenly lost my appetite. I excused myself in that damn family dinner. Nakakawalang-ganang kumain kapag hindi mo gusto 'yung pinag-uusapan mo. Narinig ko pa ang sermon ni Mama kay Ate dahil sa eskandalong ginawa nito sa school. Ate Maxine also excused herself probably because she lost her appetite.

I went straight to the bathroom to washed up. I brushed my teeth and wear my pink satin pajamas. I hugged my giant teddy bear and was about to sleep but my cellphone vibrated. I quickly get it from the side table only to check if Aldwin was the one who sent that message.

Nasa bahay na puh ako. Matulog ka na ha, 'wag ka ng magfb at baka lalandiin ka na naman ng papansin mong reactor. Ily puuh :)

I hugged the giant teddy bear when I felt that my heart skipped a beat. That was probably because of the kilig that I felt from his sugarcoated words.

I slept so quickly maybe because of exhaustion. When I went downstairs for breakfast, I saw Ate Maxine who was cooking something in the kitchen. What she was cooking smells so good. It was probably delicious.

"Sipag mo naman." I commented while clapping my hands.

"Maupo ka na para makakain na tayo." Ate Maxine said.

I did what she told me to do. I was singing while preparing for some utensils. I even prepared some plates and glass.

"Nasa'n sina Mama at Papa? Bakit ikaw nagluto?" I asked when I realized that my parents weren't around. Usually, they wake up first than me. It was just too intriguing that my Mom and Dad weren't around.

"Na kina Tita Lia sila. Mamayang alas dyis ang binyag ni Dane. Ako nga ang Ninang e kaya kailangan ko pang pumunta doon sa Sta. Ana. Badtrip nga e. Wala naman akong maipakimkim at wala pa naman akong work." Ate Maxine placed the plate of fried rice, scrambled eggs and pancakes in the table.

"Kumain ka na. Pupunta na ako sa Sta. Ana. Taong bahay ka rito kaya't isarado mo lahat ng mga pinto." she reminded as if I did not know about those things. Of course, I know that! There's no need to remind me about those things.

I eat my breakfast alone. I'm a little sad but my intestines were celebrating because I already feed them. I washed my own dishes and clean the house so that Mom will not be angry at me. I brushed my teeth and took a bath before I decided to make a birthday card for Ma'am Cortez. I was just wearing a white plain tee-shirt and a maong denim shorts since I was just at home.

I make a birthday card using some colored papers, glue and scissors. I leave a space for the pictures of my adviser. I still haven't printed out some photos of my adviser. I'm kind's lazy to went on the computer shop. It was just boring and waste of money.

The finish product wasn't totally artistic and creative. I wasn't really into art so don't expect too much. The card looks so presentable but it's no decorative. It's okay though. What's matter the most is the content of my card.

I cleaned all of the mess before Mom saw this. I also clean my room since I'm really bored. Aldwin wasn't texting or calling me. He didn't even greet me a good morning. Well, it wasn't that neccessary but that was couples supposed to do.

Mabilis lang din na lumipas ang araw ng Sabado. It was Sunday, 8:30 A.M. when my phone rang causing me to wake up in a while just to get my cellphone.

"Sino 'to? Istorbo naman." I let a groan, really sleepy now.

[Si Aldwin 'to. Sige, bye na. Natutulog ka pa pala. Istorbo lang pala ako sa pagtulog mo.] pain was very evident in his voice. I quickly wake up when I realized who was talking on the line. f**k! It was Aldwin and I even told him that he was disturbing my sleep. It was a very wrong move!

"Do not hang up. Ang totoo nyan ay kahapon ko pa hinihintay ang tawag mo." I said as a matter of fact. I was really dying to saw him. Corny it is, but that was the truth.

[Weh?] I heard a laugh from the other line. He was doubting me huh?

"Totoo nga! Ba't ba hindi ka naniniwal---?"

[Weteng.] he cut me off. I rolled my eyes because of irritation. This guy really! Instead of greeting me good morning, he chose to irritate me this early.

"Bakit ka pala napatawag?" I asked curiously while rubbing my eyes gently using my right hand.

[Labas tayo, iyon ay kung libre ka ngayon.] Even though I can't see him, I am so sure that he was holding the back of his neck as a sign of getting shy.

"Inaaya mo ba ako sa isang date?" I asked excitedly but I managed to not show him how excited I am.

[Date? Uhm, oo, parang ganoon na nga. So ano, busy ka ba? Pwede namang next Sunday na lang tayo lumaba-----]

"Maluwag sched ko ngayon. Magdate tayo!" I cut him off. Before I ended the call, I heard his laugh again.

I get my towel and went straight to the sink. I brushed my teeth and went inside the bathroom to take a bath. I was singing happily like an excited kid.

After taking a bath, I went in my walk-in closet to pick something I might wear today. I was so picky of what was the outfit that I am going to choose. It was so hard to make a decision, I'll end up in wearing a white tank top, yellow checkered blazer, yellow checkered plaid skirt ending above my knees and sueded block-heels sandals. I tie my hair in a half ponytail since later, the sun will shine so bright. I sprayed the perfume in the air because I don't want the perfume to stick in my skin. I applied some powder in my face. I did not bother to applied some make-up on my face well except from liptint. My lips was a little pale so it was neccessary to wear a liptint.

I was so excited while walking downstairs. I ran back to my room when I realized that I forgot to bring my important things such as wallet and cellphone. I put my things inside the pink gucci marmont chain bag. I know that the color pink doesn't match my outfit but I just have to deal with it. Besides, I want to used what Jake gave me as a birthday present.

I was about to open the main door but Aldwin do it first. I'm a bit startled but later on, I recover from my reaction.

"Tagal mo naman. Kanina pa ako nag-iintay dito sa labas ng bahay nyo." Aldwin complained. He was wearing a mustard yellow plain shirt, navy blue loose denim shorts and a white sneakers. I smiled secretly when I realized that our outfits were a match. We are really meant for each other.

Aldwin was also wearing a silver necklace designated for men with a silver ring as its pendant. It looked so cheap but I'm so sure that it was the thing that he value the most. I apologized for letting him wait for too long. Although, it was his fault that he didn't informed me that he was already here but still, I know that I am at fault too so I apologize.

"Mahilig ka pala sa mga accessories. Ngayon lang kasi kita nakita na nagsuot ng kwintas tapos may pendant pa. Curious lang ako, sino nagbigay sa'yo niyang singsing na pendant sa kwintas mo?" I asked after the long silence. We already rode a jeepney but it was still quiet because Aldwin chose to play something on his phone. Hindi ko tuloy sya nakakausap dahil busy sya sa paglalaro ng game application sa phone nya.

I tried to hold his hand when he did not answer me. I tried to get his attention, displaying some affection to some of the passengers that were riding a jeepney. Iniiwas nya ang kanyang kamay dahilan para mapasimangot ako. I smiled as if nothing had happened. It was fake but I smile genuinely when he reach for my hand just to held it.

"Bobo! Hindi ako impostor! Yellow sabi! Bobo naman!" Aldwin cursed, getting frustrated now. He was still holding my right hand while he was playing the 'among us' game application in his phone. He did not even mind some people's stare. Makapaglaro lang talaga ng among us e 'no?

"Pucha naman! Sinabi ng hindi ako impostor! Ayoko na! Ang bobobo naman ng mga kakampi ko! Palagi akong binoboto e sinabi na ngang hindi ako ang impostor! Bobo talaga ng mga animal!" Aldwin turned off his phone, totally frustrated now. We were now heading to their house. I don't know what is he up to. I'll just go with the flow.

"Ano nga ulit 'yung tanong mo kanina babe?" Aldwin asked as soon as he remembered what I said earlier. His mood enlightened as if he wasn't frustrated when he was playing that stupid game.

Aldwin pour me some water and so I drank it. I was still thirsty for walking under the sun. I sat on the sofa on the living room. Aldwin opened the electricfan and then he sat beside me. I pointed at the silver ring in his necklace, getting more curious now.

"Sinong nagbigay sa'yo nyan?" I repeated while pointing at the silver ring again.

His eyes suddenly became sad. I want to get back my words but I knew I wasn't be able to do it. I think, I should not dug deeper about his personal life.

"Huwag mo ng sagutin. Namemersonal na 'yung tanong ko. Haha." I fake a laugh just to change the atmosphere between us.

"Bigay 'to ni Inay." he looks more sad so I suddenly got guilty for mentioning that silver ring. He took off his necklace just to remove the silver ring out of the necklace. He wore the necklace again when he successfully removed the silver ring that serves as the pendant.

"Bago sya namatay, sinabi nya sa'kin na kapag nahanap ko na ang babaeng mamahalin ko ay ibigay ko raw ang singsing na ito." he touch the silver ring, probably longing for his mother's presence and existence. So sad, I did not have the chance to meet her Mom.

"Pahiram nga ng kamay mo. Isusukat ko lang ang singsing na ito." he asked for my permission. I frowned as I lend my hand to him. I thought, he will give me that ring but I was wrong! I am really so assuming.

"O, e bagay pala sa'yo e." he commented after he succesfully slid the ring to my ring finger.

"Yeah." I rolled my eyes because of irritation. Is he trying to pissed me off because if yes, it was really working. I'm really pissed now that he sees me as a women that he can easily use.

Aba'y insulto 'yon sa'kin kasi sa'kin nya isinukat ang singsing pero hindi naman ako ang pakakasalan nya sa dulo. Kainis naman oh! What a f*****g misfortune!

"Dahil bagay sa'yo ang singsing, edi sa'yo ko na lang 'yan ibibigay." halatang napipilitan lang sya kaya napasimangot ako lalo.

"Ayoko nga. Baka multuhin pa ako ng Mama mo kasi binigay mo sa'kin ito. Dapat ibigay mo itong singsing sa babaeng pakakasalan mo." I lectured him. Muli kong hinubad ang singsing. Pilit ko iyong ibinalik sa kamay nya.

"Exactly. Kaya ko nga ibinibigay ito sa'yo dahil ikaw ang babaeng pakakasalan ko." he stared into my eyes.

I blinked twice. Parang nabingi ako sa sinabi nya. My heart skipped a beat in an instance.

"Ha?" I pretend that I did not hear it.

"Halimaw." ayan na naman po sya sa pamimilosopo nya.

I sighed heavily, starting to get stressed now.

"Ang ayos mong kausap." I rolled my eyes.

"Pasensya ka na po. God bless." he laugh at my annoyed reaction. This guy! Napakatino kausap! So annoying! Ugh!

"Alam mo, uuwi na lang ako. Kalimutan na natin 'yung date nating dalawa." I ran out of patient. I stand up and was about to walk but I stopped when Aldwin pulled my wrist causing me to lie on the sofa. He held both of my wrist so I'm unable to escape from him. He brought his face closer to mine. My knees got weak as I felt his warm breath on my heated face. I looked away but he still eager to looked me in the eyes. I had no choice but to looked him directly in the eyes as if we were competing in a staring contest.

"Ikaw lang ang babaeng ihaharap ko sa altar." he said, eyes were full of honesty and sincerity.
