Chapter 1. There was this girl whose name was Ann . She lived with her mother who was a single mom. Her parents had divorced a year later after giving birth to her due to their own personal reasons. Ann chose to stay with her mother since the father had decided to marry another wife. Ann's mother on the other part chose to live single life to avoid too much stress from men since she claimed on how her husband had been harassing her all through the period they had been together. Life was not difficult to Ann and her mother since the mother had a job which kept them going . Beside that , Ann's father also took responsibility of her since she was her daughter. He could always purchase shopping which he sent her. Ann grew up not knowing the reason as to why her mother did not stay together with her father since neither the father nor the mother was willing to tell her. She had no other sibling. Whenever Ann tried to inquire from her mother where her dad lived , the only obvious thing that her mother could tell her was that her dad lived in abroad countries doing some big business to get money to pay her fees .Ann was ten years old during this time . She was really stressed of her Dad and the mother had become tired explaining to her where her dad was . She grew fast like any other girl could . She soon did her final examination where she passed well and joined high school. She was always top in her class . Her father was always proud of her . He had given birth to a clever and sharp girl who never disappointed her .He always made sure his girl grew with love from him .

"Are my pretty angels ready?" The familiar voice asked and I turned to see their mother climbing down the stairs, looking so pretty as always. "Yes, mum. I was about coming to your room to kiss you" Tammy said with a pout and went to give her a peck. Well, she was the youngest and tend to behave childish. Mrs Rosalie glared at me when she got to where I was and I quickly took my gaze to the floor. "Okay, dear. You need to hurry up so you won't be late. Be careful, okay?" She said sweetly to her daughters and they nodded "Bye, mum." Ruby said and started walking out. "Bye mummy. I'll get you some small chops on my way back. And I promise to dance for you when I return" Tammy giggled. "Oh! Please Ruby, you and I both know you don't know how to dance" Ruby said as she walked out the door. "That's a lie" Tammy pouted and their mother laughed. "Don't mind your sister. You're a perfect dancer, okay?" She tried petting her "And what're you staring at??" She snapped at me and I gulped nervously and started walking out of the house, my school bag hung on my right hand.

"What are you doing standing there Daisy?" My boss asked. I turned around, surprised to see him standing by the gate. How come I didn't notice him? He's one of the numerous boss I have and he's really fierce. "I'm trying to catch my breath sir" I replied, still breathing hard. "Tell me, what trouble did you make this time to warrant you running?" He squinted his eyes at me. "Nothing" I forced a smile while my brain to me down the last twenty minutes memory lane. I had gone to distribute the newspapers as usual. I got in front of a house and met an arrogant lady sitting on the front porch. I greeted and asked for her to buy the newspaper but she had just flipped me off. I angrily called her a bitch then she retaliated by pulling my hair. I beat her blue and black and was about giving her a final blow in the stomach when an old man came out, pointing a gun at me. I ran to my bicycle as he still fumbled with the gun and and took off before he could shoot at me. "Down to earth Daisy" my boss waved his hands in front of my face. His voice sounded from a distance so it didn't shake me out of my reverie. I've working non stop and barely have time for myself. At times, I work overnight which isn't good for a lady but I have to make ends meet and cater for my parents and siblings who are still in high school.
