About My Marriage.

Chapter 1. Mrs. Kemisola Aigbogun is a 24 year old Christian lady, married to Mr. Mark Aigbogun, a working class handsome young man (also a Christian) who happens to have a Best friend before marrying the love of his life Few years after his marriage to Kemi, his "bestie" asked to visit him and stay a while with the couple to which he agreed, not knowing that his bes was jealous of his marriage. On the other hand, Kemi has a female best friend to whom she reports everything that happens in the home to. "Baby......babe wake up, you'd be late for work" I say, gently waking my love up. I have prepared everything he needs, his breakfast is ready and his clothes properly ironed. All that is left is for him to eat, dress up and get to work Forgive my manners please, I forgot to introduce myself (don't mind me, I'm just too excited, I can't believe I'm now married, a married woman ). My name is Kemisola Aigbogun....I mean Mrs Kemisola Aigbogun, Oh my God, isn't it lovely? I'm now married; not just married, I'm married to the love of my life. The man who loves me more than I love him. I consider myself a lucky lady to have married him honestly. Uhmmm....wat else do u need to know about me yes I have a best friend, her name is Esther......she has been my bestie since my University days, we've treated each other like sisters and I love her as one. She isn't married yet though, said she hasn't found the man of her dreams yet so she'll keep waiting. Though she isn't married, I tell everything that happens at home to her. They say when you get married, you shouldn't mingle with singles as they could pull you down and snatch your husband blah blah blah....buh ion believe all that. I mean, she's my best friend and I don't see any reason she'd wanna hurt me or pull my marriage down. I don't really spend hours selling goods, I just have to sell my goods like a wholesaler and return home. I've actually been planning my life like that so I can have enough time for my husband, family and the spiritual environment of my home. Few hours later, I returned home a little stressed out so I went to the kitchen to eat as well didn't eat before leaving the house and did some chores. I was watching film when my husband walked in with a lady, maybe from his office I suppose "Hey dear...." he said as he pecked my cheeks "Hi...how was work today" O responded, subconsciously ignoring the lady behind him "It went well, thank God.....uhmm, babe this is my bestie. Her name is Taiwo. Taiwo, this is my wife, Kemi" my husband said "Hi....nice to meet you" I said with a smile, stretching forth my hands for a handshake. Sue looked at me and ignored "Mark please show me to my room" she said as she went with Mark I didn't realize my mouth was agape.... Like seriously, why would she respond that way, she didn't even respond at all o. And why would Mark my husband not inform me that we would be having a visitor before bringing her in..... I managed to close my mouth I headed to the master's bedroom. On getting there, I met my husband on the bed, pinging, obviously waiting for me "Hey...." I said " Hi baby.....been waiting for you so we could study the Bible together..." He responded as he dropped his phone. I joined him on bed with the intention of questioning him concerning his best friend...... seriously, that title is new to me as he hasn't mentioned it before. "Sweetheart, who's that lady friend" I asked calmly "She's my friend....best friend, we've been together since our university days. She just got back from abroad and has no place to stay so I offered to bring her here to stay with us" he said, stroking my hair , probably so I won't get angry.. "Okay but......don't you think she's a threat to our marriage, the relationship is still young u know; just three years. Besides, you didn't tell me we would be having a visitor. At least I'm your wife, I should've known." I said, still maintaining my calm nature" "I know dear and I'm sorry, she's not a threat to this marriage at all I promise you. You just have to get along with her okay sweetie" He responded to which I kept silent "Hmm...okay iffu say so" It's another beautiful morning * but not the usuals, I have a total stranger...my fellow woman in my house but since my husband said I shouldn't worry about it, I'd just obey him* So I'm gonna do my work as soon as possible today: pray, seep my stuffs, come back home to eat, rest and pray again. I was about going out when Taiwo and I met at the door...."Hi...good morning. It's a beautiful morning isn't it?" We treated each other like sisters and have always been there for each other. Though I'm a Christian, I still keep friend with anyone as long as he/she has a good heart. You may be surprised but I am a Christian, but not a deep one at all and same goes for my husband . So where was I? We've been talking for like an hour and half now when we heard a knock on the door "I'm coming" I responded as I stood up. It happened to be Taiwo because I know my husband doesn't come back this early "Hi Taiwo, welcome....." I said as I ushered her in "Lemme introduce you to my friend. Okay Taiwo this is Esther, Esther this is Taiwo, my husband's friend" "Best friend.... please excuse me " she cut in, interrupting me and left I kept staring at her for a while buh winked at what just happened "Babe, what just happened?" Esther asked me "Nothing happened" I simply said "Haa.....you said she's who?" She asked "My husband's best friend" I replied "Best friend indeed.....better hold your hubby tight before you she snatches him from you o" she said, drawing her ears in emphasis Wat? Could it be possible....but Mark promised it won't happen....I tot to myself I tot of what Esther said but I hadn't wanted it to bother me. It's true that my husband is a very good man and the type that ladies would do anything to have to themselves buh I'm glad he chose me. Buh since he's a married man, all that should change right? I didn't mention anything to Mark when he returned from work as he has already assured me nobody is coming between us *Mark's office* "Hey best friend" Taiwo said in between smiles Mark lifted his head to see who it was "Oh hi....wassup. How did u manage to get past my secretary?" He said, packing the files he was working on so he could give his guest the needed attention "Well....you know. Forget about that, how are you?" She asked "I'm fine as you can see" he replied. Taiwo gave a smile in response. She was looking round his office, admiring how spacious and we'll decorated it was when her eyes caught the pictire of a young lady on his desk. She stared at it for a while. Obviously knowing who it was she asked. "Who's this young lady" "That's Kemi, my wife" he replied "I see, how did you guys meet anyway" she asked "Uhmm....youth service, I met her while I was serving, I loved her person and asked for her friendship and here we are" he explained briefly, staring at the picture and smiling to himself, remembering the beautiful moments he had with her. "Ohh I see. Well that doesn't change anything between us right" she said, all smiles "Yeah I guess..." He replied, not totally sure "Good...cos you Know if I hadn't travelled overseas then, we would've been married. So Don't let her come between us." She said with all seriousness and stood up to leave "Well I guess I'd be leaving now, I see you have alot of things to do. See you at home dear." She said as she made her way to the door "Yeah bye " Mark responded as she left and was left thinking about what she has said Mark got home that day still thinking of what his best had said but he concluded that there was nothing to be worried about. He got home to be greeted by his wife who had prepared his food and was waiting for him so they could eat together. He enjoyed his meal and thanked his wife who went to stay at the veranda to enjoy the breeze blowing peacefully on her skin "Hey babe" he whispered behind as he hugged her, to which she smiled "Hey....hope you enjoyed your meal." She asked in between smiles "Yes I did.... thanks, you want to stay outside?" He asked "Yeah I feel like" she responded "Okay then, let's stay together" he replied as he planted a light kiss on her neck to which she considered ticklish and laughed Taiwo was bored in her room and decided to go outside to enjoy the cool breeze as well Her room was downstairs which was the guest room while the master's bedroom was upstairs. She came out, enjoying the cool breeze while pressing her phone when she heard giggles, laughter and whispers coming from upstairs. She looked up to see Mark and Kemi together enjoying each other's company. Taiwo was so filled with jealousy and was thinking of what to do to interrupt them "Uhmmm.....Mark, please come and check what's wrong with my car" she said as she was looking at the two Mark on the other hand, didn't know what to do to avoid trouble from the two women: whether to stay with his wife of attend to his best friend. He kept staring at the two of them, confused about who he'd choose to be with and their reactions. When Kemi noticed he was confused as it was written all over his face, she smiled and kissed him lightly "Go check wat is wrong with her car, I'd wait for you don't worry" she said, stroking his hair He smiled in response....a smile of relief as he went downstairs to meet Taiwo who was giving Kemi a dangerous glare that could stab if they were to be daggers. She was happy she got his attention yes but still very upset that she didn't accomplish her mission of bringing a misunderstanding between the two. Mark was soon done with her and went back to Kemi as they retired to their different rooms for the evening. On a bright and blissful morning, Mark is seen in his office, sorting out some documents as his phone rang...it was a call from his secretary "Hello Sir. Good morning Sir. Someone's here to see you" she said on a calm note. "Okay, profile" He responded, while checking for something on his computer "It's a lady sir. She said she's your wife's friend and goes by the name Esther Sir" she responded politely He tried to recall before he said "okay, let her in" and shortly, a beautiful lady walked into his office, neatly dressed "Hello Mark" she said in between smiles "Hi. Sorry give me a minute let me conclude this one." He said while staring at the computer and trying to bring what he was doing to a halt "There. I'm done" he said as he clapped his hands in excitement "What can I do for you young lady" he asked, as she now had his full and undivided attention "I guess you don't remember me anymore so I'd just introduce myself to you" she said, dissatisfied from the way he treated her like a total stranger "I'm Esther. You're wife's best friend" she said confidently "Ohh I'm sorry, forgive my manners.... how are you and how is everything" he said "I'm fine thank you" she responded "Its obvious...So what's brings you here" he asked "Nothing dear. I just came to greet you in your office" she responded smiling while Mark was silent "Okay I think I should take my leave now. By the way, you're a very handsome young man and I like your shirt. I'll see you later" she said as she made her way to the door, leaving Mark dumbfounded and confused. "What kind of problem is this. How do I face all these women." He thought to himself as he recalled Esther called him to her house, lying to him that Kemi was there and was weeping, refusing to be consoled only for him to find out that she had just wanted to see him and do some things with him to which he bluntly refused and fled. "God. Please give Kemi the wisdom to handle these two. Especially that unfriendly friend around her who calls her name Esther" He prayed silently as he resumed work. Kemi and Esther are seen in the sitting room They've been gisting and laughing for sometime now. "Babe let me show you what my husband bought for me" Kemi said excitedly as she playfully dragged her friend to the master's bedroom "See.....the clothes, shoes and bags. I just love this man so much. He's the best and he's everything any woman ask for" she said smiling "So you know. Esther asked, obviously faking concern "Well nothing.... actually it's something buh it's a secret I haven't told a soul about" she said, childishly playing with her fingers. "I'm your best friend dear. Your secret is safe with me" Esther replied, hold her hands reassuringly. Meanwhile, Taiwo decided to survey the house and go upstairs since she hasn't been there before because she was restricted to be there. But Mark wasn't home so he wouldn't know. She had closed from work as usual as her job here isn't time consuming like that pf Mark She was moving when she heard voices in low tones, and she decided to eavesdrop. "You can tell me anything. What's bothering you" She heard Esther ask "When I had my last abortion, the doctor said my womb is too fragile, if not damaged, he said he doubted if I could give birth at all again" Kemi confessed as her eyes were already teary. Taiwo closed her mouth so as not to let her voice expose her. She was shocked and Esther was more shocked"Oh my God.....last abortion, pregnant, fragile womb......since when. I mean how? I know you go to clubs back then but I didn't know there was more to it." Esther said, not giving her best friend breathing space to explain herself "Kemi I'm talking to you. Answer me" "Ehn wait now. How am I supposed to respond to you when you're not giving me a breathing space to talk." Kemi retorted "Okay. Oya talk. I'm listening" Esther said impatiently "I had abortions yes but it was just three times" Kemi replied shortly "Ehn okay.....how did you get Mark to marry you. Because I Know he's a decent man who would want a decent woman for a wife" Esther asked At this point Taiwo stretched her neck the more because she was asking the same question in her mind "I didn't lure him into marrying me so don't think I used charm on him or something. We met while he was serving or so and he loved me and asked for my hand in marriage. I told him I wasn't the kind of girl he would want for as a wife but he wouldn't budge, saying he loved me more than whatever reason I was saying that. I had no choice but to accept his proposal because I loved him as well but I never mentioned what made me reject initially" She explained, in details this time At this point Taiwo tiptoed downstairs quietly before sfed get caught "Hmm.....so do you plan on telling him this" Esther asked, expecting to get a negative answer "No I don't" she replied shortly "Very good." Esther thought inwardly before she received a call. "Baby I have to go now, my attention is needed elsewhere" she said as she stood up to take her leave "Okay thanks for listening. And, please keep my secret." She said slowly "U wish.." Esther thought.. "Sure. Your secret is safe with me. Still shocked though" she responded . "Okay...let me see you off" Kemi said as they went downstairs and said goodbye.
