One |First Encounter
As their family's car rolled through the new, unfamiliar city, the two best friends exchanged nervous glances, their excitement tinged with a hint of apprehension, setting the stage for a journey of unexpected twists and turns.
As the last box was unpacked in their separate residences, Sophie felt a surge of restlessness stirring within her. She made her way to Harper's door, her mind buzzing with excitement as she anticipated the adventure that awaited. "Harper!" Sophie exclaimed, her voice filled with a sense of excitement and adventure.
"So, I've been thinking," Sophie said with a cute look on her face, "since we're all settled in, don't you think we could take a break and check out the city?"
Harper cut in on her. "Hey, we just got here. I just finished sorting this out, okay? And I'm worn out. So please" Sophie cut in as she released a drawn-out plea with an endearing expression praising her features. Harper couldn't refuse. She let out a sigh of defeat as Sophie dragged her out of the house.
Eager to immerse themselves in the delights of the outdoors, their laughter echoing through the air as they engaged in various activities, losing track of time. As they glanced at the time, they realized with a start that time had turned its hands on them. They hurriedly hastened their steps, finding themselves accidentally brushing against a handsome-looking stranger. They pivoted to tell him an apology. Without hesitating for even a moment, they swiftly turned back, their urgency palpable as they hurried to make amends.
A voice erupted, its volume jolting them. "Are you blind? Didn't your father teach you proper manners?"
Sophie paused as it seemed everyone and everything around this young stranger went blur. She approached him, closing the distance between them with rage in her eye. She delivered a resounding slap, sending him reeling to the ground. Then, seizing him by his collar, she uttered, "Don't you ever...
With a light smirk in her face Sophie says to him "have you ever bothered to consider the humiliation of being taken down by a mere slap?"
Didn't your mother teach you never to get beaten up by a girl?" Upon hearing those words, he rose to his feet with confidence radiating from his eyes. Sophie smirked as she met his gaze, sending him a sense of utmost disgust that left him utterly repulsed.
Suddenly, a voice interrupts the fiery silence, drawing their attention.
"Is everything alright here?"
a concerned voice asks. Sophie and Harper turn to see a security guard approaching, alerted by the commotion.Sophie quickly steps forward, her expression softening.
"Yes, everything's fine," she says, trying to diffuse the situation."It was just a misunderstanding"
The security guard looks skeptical but nods, accepting Sophie's explanation. "Alright then, just be careful," he advises before walking away.
Sophie and Harper breathe a sigh of relief, grateful that the situation didn't escalate further. However, they can't shake off the tension as they continue on their way through the city.As they walk, Sophie glances at Harper, her expression troubled. "I didn't mean for things to get out of hand," she says, her voice tinged with regret.
"It's okay, Sophie. We all have moments when our emotions get the best of us," she replies, offering her a reassuring smile trying to ease her friend's guilt.
Despite Harper's words, Sophie can't shake off the unease that lingers in the air. As they navigate through the bustling streets of the city, they both silently wonder about the stranger they encountered and the impact their brief interaction might have on their lives. With that, the two friends continue their journey, unaware of the twists and turns that await them in the days to come.
